Hi verbatim and all my other readers!

christmasgraphic5sm.gifto you all and a Happy New Year.

Just got through to Barclays and they say our main mortgage is unaffected. This would only affect us if we had used or in future use our mortgage reserve - which as far as I know as we are on an interest only mortgage we haven't got one of these. It tends to be created by repaying capital off your mortgage or if you requested a reserve when you first applied. So the good news is that all being well our mortgage will still drop massively come July!

Barclays have been absolutely inundated with calls although luckily I got thro pretty much straightaway. I have asked the phone agent to pass on my disgust at the wording and timing of the letter, and to pass on how much worry it has caused people like me completely unnecessarily.

    Hi SH,

Glad the mortgage looks like good news. I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing holiday and maybe get to enjoy the snow if you don't have to worry about getting anywhere.

hi el and KJ and thanks

We have to travel about an hour and half each way tomorrow - and then out again boxing day. Our cul-de-sac is a bit icy but the others roads round here are ok - not sure what it will be like at parents house tho - they tend to get more snow than us

DD is now in the bath. We had a gorgeous roast lamb tea. DS is tidying up his bedroom so that father christmas doesn't break his neck when he comes to call. DS very worried he's not getting anything as he has already had his bed LOL
