Hi jellie, karen, swinstie
I am still waiting for the outcome from yesterday but at the moment it looks positive. I have however thrown something else into the works - I have asked whether there is anyway I can go in via my umbrella company rather than be employed direct. This would have major tax advantages! We will see what happens....
The business manager I met yesterday liked me, my manager to be likes me - its just waiting feedback from one other person that I saw.
I think I will take it if offered as with the early finish Friday it should be liveable with for the period of the contract. It is not a perm job afterall! I am also fed up of interviews - and day time tv! I also want to be able to buy things like the bed DS wants (basic really) without having to over worry about it! The bed he is sleeping on - and more importantly the mattress is older than he is! And it wasn't that great quality to start with !
Well my Asda shop has just been delivered. I had it delivered to minimise temptation in the shop - that and I just feel so drained after yesterday!
Well got another 80p from my scratchcards - in another 2 weeks or so I think I will have several come to fruition at once ! ie reach the £10 limit!
I have also redeemed another £5 from bp... I'm hoping I can budge it up to £10 by the end of tomorrow. That will help with xmas pressies!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sounds like you have a plan- hope it all works out!
You must be shattered after yesterday. How do you find Asda online? I've only ever used Tesco.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
I use mysupermarket.com to pick my stuff, downshift etc and then send the trolley to Asda. I get ipoints too. (Quidco are offering cashback if you join Asda's site thro them!). I find it okay but then I don't expect perfection. Any problems and they refund you....
Well I got offered the job - and they have agreed to let me do it thro the umbrella company so I am hoping that it will work out as a few extra hundred pound in my hand by doing it that way (my expenses ie mileage get offset against tax). I start a week on Monday for roughly 10 months! They have also said if it helps to start or finish 10-15 minutes earlier etc that they will be flexible as they really want me! I nearly cried yesterday just at the thought of going to another interview. They had also told me it would be straightforward but I'm not sure I regard nearly 3 hours as straight forward!
At least it gives me some motivation to get the house straight and perhaps pre-cook some meals in the 10 days or so before I start!
It is nice that they are bending over backwards - big morale boost. Main reason for taking the job that really self esteem boost and money! I try to listen to the music channels rather than getting sucked in to daytime tv.what you dont like jezza i am shocked:eek::eek::eek:

I was just looking at Martin's mse story on houseprices :money:and just checked out my postcode. My house value is back on track which is great - as it had seemed to drop £15-25K poss due to other houses on the estate being repossessed. That is a big relief as it should make it a bit easier next year when the current fixed rate expires. It also means that our debt is less scary as we are back on owning about a quarter of our house despite being on interest only mortgage.:j
Ideally once I get paid - I hope to pay off around £1K a month! Possibly more if the tax relief is higher than I think...:j We are currently paying about £300... so I am hoping that by the end of this contract rather than owing £15.2K we will owe more like £5k or 6K (of which £4K is my MIL so she would be able to wait if I was unemployed again for a bit so no pressure):jAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
