glad to be of assistance, terri! :D

big hurray to andy for finding such a bargainous flight! :money: :j :money:

big hello to charlie - welcome, put your feet up and get comfy! i think you'll enjoy your time here.

paul, noticed in your siggy that your debt has reduced by almost a grand since 1 jan, even with your setbacks - that's great! :T

hope you're up and running with a home connection soon, DT - but at least the mcd wireless works in their carpark. i'll bear that in mind in case we ever have an internet blip!

    my PAD today is ***1.16***.

have to do some serious "budgeteering" (thanks FF!) and planning later on (once sprogs in bed, can't have a complete thought until then ) to make sure my asda shop comes in around 50 pounds tomorrow. sometimes it's easy, but this week we seem to have run out of *everything*. may need more easter egg choc to build me up to the task :D

    Thanks for noticing.
It's actually better than that because I live without using my overdraft a fair chunk of the time too. I get paid by transferring "draws" from my business account to my personal account via the internet. I do have a reasonable balance in the business account again but the cheques won't be cleared until next week. A few more dropped through the letterbox today as well.
I think I've done well too when I consider that I was unable to work for 3 weeks or so in January and February due to the freeze-up and that since the start of the year, my van has cost me something like £665 in tyres, servicing, MOT and repairs.
I am unwilling to make PADs at the moment due to being in overdraft but I still post the CC minimums and loan payments when they go out. Also, I have the first half year instalment to pay soon for the service charges on my flat plus the water and sewage charges. There's every chance that I will be leaning on my overdraft (and therefore not making additional PADs) until around mid May. I don't mind too much now because for the first time in years, I feel as if I am getting on top of the debts.
On the work front, in spite of the state of the economy, additional work has been coming my way and in the past week picked up work worth about £1,200 a year. If what I've got planned comes off, some really big work could be coming my way fairly soon too. No guarantees of course - there never are - but if I get the work that I've been after for a while now, it would prove pretty lucrative. It could wear me out a bit but I just want to get this horrible debt down. It's run my life and my emotions for too long now. Physical graft wears me out less than the anxiety of being in so much debt.
Something funny happened today. I did a large job last month that proved troublesome. It wasn't the best quality finish but it genuinely wasn't my fault. Over Easter weekend I tentatively posted the invoice wondering if I would have to negotiate a reduced amount or chase the money up in the future. Today I got the cheque through for the full amount by return of post. I had this conference going on in my head wondering about the best way to tackle the situation and the only "situation" was the garbage that was going on inside my head LOL.
Think I better bank it before anyone changes their mind :D .
