shirleytch wrote: »Hi Ging - thanks for the speedy reply. I mainly shop at Tesco but don't have far to go to get to Asda, Sainsbury, Morrison, Aldi, Lidl or Netto so spoiled for choice i guess. I buy some of the fresh veg from Aldi - they have good deals on their 6 veg at 69p promotion. I am going to start using lentils as a staple on green days - seem to recall a dahl recipe in the free curry booklet that came with the magazine a while back. Will let you now how it turns out
that would be great - thanks
I usually shop in tesco too but have never looked at Aldi for F&V... might give that a try. I think the expense for me is when I buy a lot of the branded food - mug shots, pasta 'n' sauce etc I need really to focus on free food instead of syn-free food which help both the £'s and lbs

I have used Lidl for the last 5 years for about 95% of my weekly shop. When I visit the other supermarkets I am staggered at the costs and couldn't bring myself to go back. If anyone is interested, next week when I get my till receipt I can post the costs for SW friendly foods I got that week so that you can compare with your weekly shop? Just a thought.

Well I haven't done very well on my first week back:( Although have had a stressful few days with the family, and have resorted to junk food to get me through it all!!! I am also off out for dinner tomorrow to a really nice pub, where the food is amazing!!
Oh well, very doubtful I have lost any weight this week, but I will keep doing my best and weigh myself on Monday...If next week is just as bad I will probably join group the following week, once the kids are back at school, as it may keep me on the straight and narrow.
Lovely snakes Judds:)

Morning Penny!
Your menu sounds lovely, it looks like you have planned it carefully. Do you plan to have a drink? (glass of wine etc?) as that would have syns too.
Obviously if you don't drink (or don't plan to drink) then that's fine, but for me I would hold off the creme egg and exchange for a glass of wine (5 or 6 syns), getting syns back into target ...
but thats just me

If anyone does want chocolate over Easter but still wants to keep within their syn allowance, here are a few treats you can afford syn wise
Cadbury Mini Eggs 1½ Syns for 2
Mars Mini Eggs 2 Syns each
Terry's Chocolate Orange Mini Eggs 2 Syns each
Terry's Chocolate Orange Segsation Mini Eggs 2½ Syns each
Nestle After Eight Mini Eggs 3 Syns each
Cadbury Mini Creme Eggs 2½ Syns each
Cadbury Mini Dairy Milk Caramel Eggs 3 Syns each
Kinder Surprise Egg 5½ Syns each
Galaxy Caramel Egg 8½ Syns each
Cadbury Creme Egg 9 Syns each
Cadbury's Dairy Milk Caramel Egg 9½ Syns each
Galaxy Praline Egg 10 Syns each
Celebrations chocolate miniatures 2 Syns each
Cadbury miniature heroes are 2½ Syns each
Dairy Milk 28g is 7 1/2 syns so you can weigh your chocolate egg out into 28g portions and syn it that way (if you can resist scoffing the whole egg in one go)
The chocolate isn't so bad syn wise, it's the extra contents (chocolates, rolo's smarties etc) that tot the syns up.0
