So far I haven't really had much inspiration from staying on at class after WI. My consultant seems to just go through everyone's WI cards and ask why they lost/gained that week.
It may be that everyone else is a lot older than me! Seriously I'm the youngest by at least 25 years - and I'm 27!
I know when I tried SW 2 yrs ago, there was a lot more discussion of tips, new food, recipes, exercises etc

The things I would point out are;
Sweet chilli sauce is syns, just check in the book and use a small amount
Use frylight for the omelette unless you have one of those never stick pans
If Thursday is a green day your gammon would be a B option, so make sure you weigh it (or you could get away with an extra easy day if you cut the cheese out at lunchtime - or count it as syns - but if you are new to the plan I would get my head round the green and red first)
I think the creme fraiche would be syns, unless its 0% fat, but I never use it so I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong
And the pineapple ring would be syns too, canned fruit is not a free food, and you will have used your B options on the cereal and gammon
If you have sugar in your tea make sure you count the syns
Drink lots of water
Just keep it varied, I wouldn't even eat the same cereals 2 days running, it definately slows your weight loss if you stick to the same B options all the time.
Good Luck on the journey, how much do you hope to lose?
Thanks for that! I hope to lose around 2 stone. Have put that amount on after having 2 babies close together and not been able to lose the weight before falling pregnant. I seem to be eating loads and I cant do without chocolate, giving me a headache if I do!!
I got my groceries delivered so the original meal plan changed a bit to this -
Wed - Red Day
28 g honey shreddies & milk allowance (A) & (B)
mullerlite yoghurt (free)
tea and dash milk (allowance)
mushroom & onion omlette (free)
banana, tin of diet pepsi
fudge bar and tea & 2 mandarins
Salmon, baked potato, cauliflower, mangetout and babycorns
tsp butter (bad!!) diet fanta
fudge bar & tea with dash milk (allowance)
Thurs - Green Day
28g honey shreddies & milk (allowance)
tea & jaffa cake
3 small baked potatoes filled with 3 laughing cow lite triangles, beans
fudge bar & tea
2 quorn sausages, brown roll, lettuce, tomato, red onion, sliced egg and quark spread on the brown roll.
strawberries & grapes covered in mullerlite strawberry yoghurt (yum!)
kids dairy milk bar & tea with dash milk from allowance
Does this look ok? I feel I am eating loads and will be surprised if the weight comes off lol. Thanks!oooooooh i luv a bargain0 -
Hi All - have been doing SW since last Sept and lurk around this board with the occasional post. So in my 27 weeks I have lost 21lb - not amazing but slow and steady and i am still having a regular social life so all in all delighted. I buy the countdown membership simply because I know if I have prepaid I will return to class after a bad week, wheras without that I would just not turn up - and then maybe not turn up again - and I know exactly where that would lead me to - so I am sticking with it til I get to goal.
Regaridng the classes I know what folk mean when they say it is boring just going round the group and if the group is big it goes on forever. It would be more refreshing to ditch that unless folk had something they particularly wanted to contribute to the group and to discuss recipes and ideas. Occasionally we have taster nights where everyone brings a different dish and they are great - social nights where we all learn something,
Anyway just heard my other half is likely to be redundant so have been sitting here doing a budget all morning and needed a break so thought I would pop in and say hi to you all. Judders - good to see you back.
Anyone know if there are any good offers on around the supermarkets on any of our standard SW fare? I know Asda were doing Mullers 4 for £1 but think that ended earlier this week. Any info welcome.
Hope you all have a good Easter  - and yes I have been rambling too - oh dear! Bye now0 -
Hi Shirley....
What shops do you usually go to? We are having to really cut back too and I must say that SW is not the cheapest weigh to eat is it!?!?!
I'd like any tips available too. I've noticed that the mags have some budget meals in.... might help?
Ging x0 -
Hi Ging - thanks for the speedy reply. I mainly shop at Tesco but don't have far to go to get to Asda, Sainsbury, Morrison, Aldi, Lidl or Netto so spoiled for choice i guess. I buy some of the fresh veg from Aldi - they have good deals on their 6 veg at 69p promotion. I am going to start using lentils as a staple on green days - seem to recall a dahl recipe in the free curry booklet that came with the magazine a while back. Will let you now how it turns out0

mini wheetabix 28 gm with milk
cup of tea and handful of grapes
mushroom and onion omlette with tin diet pepsi
banana and tin of diet sprite

Well as you know I do once in a while go totally off topic on here so if I may indulge one more time - just wanted to share with you, as this has become a nice friendly lil community, my achievement of a bit of a small life goal.
so Sunday 29 March - I attained what I had, about 15 months ago, set as a life ambition...which was to see, in the wild, and photograph .....well see below:
here's a link to my pics - 23 pics in all:

Best effect is to select the slide show, set interval time to 4 or 5 seconds, once it starts hit f11 on your keyboard and then towards bottom right there are two overlapping boxes - click on the larger one and you should get full screen with nice big pics - give it a whirl.
Let me knoiw what you think.:D
Thanks

Why don't you be the one to start off? Usually, all it takes is one person to start and everyone else gets carried away and joins in - fun, interesting and informative for all!
Judderman - how could you suggest full screen pictures and then show us snakes??????????? My toes have turned so far up I'll never be able to get my shoes off!
I'm happy you've attained a life goal, but snakes :eek:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Nice to see you back Judds! and that you've not lost that cheeky sense of humour!:DWhen Life Throws You Lemons Make Lemonade0
