Hey, thanks for the reply :) I've been wondering that, but then I'm trying not to fall into the trap of gradually cutting down more and more on what I eat as I lose, as I think it's a bit of a dangerous sink-hole to get into. You end up having to be in utter control of everything, and I'm not sure that's live-able for me. Still, it's tempting to do that - I just want the weight loss to continue :(

I do like the bhuna sauce - it was the quorn pieces that sucked!! They absorbed it and went kind of mushy. Eww.

Yuck, not a fan of quorn pieces at all, i can just about tolerate the lemon and pepper escalopes, but thats it as far as quorn goes! Just noticed your start weight...you've done so well! You must be so proud of yourself!
  • hi all.

Pete - I'm doing a lot of growing this year in my back garden.... was seed sowing today in fact. Courgettes, pumpkins, runners, peas, squashes, sweetcorn, carrots, beetroot, salad, toms, onions, garlic, cucumber and melons planned, and I have a TINY garden so will be making the most of all available space. ALso have a lot of fruit in pots - grapes, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, blueberries. Whew! Quite a lot now I think about it. I'm hoping to save some money seeing as we always spend so much more on fruit and veg when doing SW ;)

Anyway, dietwise I need a big kick up the backside! I have been really off plan since friday and need to get back on track pronto otherwise I will never get to target.

    Hi

Is there any syn free salad type dressing ?

    Thanks

We just bought some kraft light dressings and they're free. I think as long as they have less than 40cal per 100g they're okay. Hope that helps.

  • Hi all - glad to see you still posting :o my life is a bit manic at the moment, but I do pop in!

I am still maintaining in my target zone, but I was a touch disappointed to have gained 1lb tonighht at WI - not entirely sure it was deserved...

Ho hum, nowt much to complain about, I shall have a couple of Red or green days this week (I am maintaining by following EE quite nicely), to hopefully counteract the likely naughtiness that a family Easter will have ...

Well done to the losers though :T :T, and to the sts and the gainers - we will lose next week!!

Not too many problems, considering you're a newbie!!.....but I would get bored with fudge bars!! The little kids dairy milks are only 5.5 syns, curly wurly 6, mini packs of buttons (multipack ones) are 4, I have chocolate almost every day and have lost 3 stone so far!!

    The things I would point out are;

Sweet chilli sauce is syns, just check in the book and use a small amount

Use frylight for the omelette unless you have one of those never stick pans

If Thursday is a green day your gammon would be a B option, so make sure you weigh it (or you could get away with an extra easy day if you cut the cheese out at lunchtime - or count it as syns - but if you are new to the plan I would get my head round the green and red first)

I think the creme fraiche would be syns, unless its 0% fat, but I never use it so I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong

And the pineapple ring would be syns too, canned fruit is not a free food, and you will have used your B options on the cereal and gammon

If you have sugar in your tea make sure you count the syns

    Drink lots of water

Just keep it varied, I wouldn't even eat the same cereals 2 days running, it definately slows your weight loss if you stick to the same B options all the time.

Good Luck on the journey, how much do you hope to lose?

  • Just checked......reduced fat creme fraiche is 1.5 syns per tbsp, as I said I don't use it so I don't know if there is a 0% fat option

Well I have gone over 15 Syns on my first two days:o The problem is, a lot of the food I have in the house is quick fix food, which I bought loads of, in anticipation of being too tired to cook when Kai arrived. I also didn't think I would want to start back with SW so soon after having him;).

    Today is GREEN
    B - Weetabix (HEb, HEa)
L - Jacket potato, cheese and onion, beans. (HEa)
D - Pasta, tomato based free sauce.
    Snacks - fruit.
Syns - cadbury twisted creme egg??
Drinks - sugar free squash and tea

Could someone please let me know the Syn value of the twisted creme egg:D
