  • Wow! where did that come from  thanks!

so my guess of 27 (2 ckn and chips) should have been 10+5.5 +9 = 24.5

    not bad guess methinks :D

Got this from my food directory, few eating out places at the back & this was 1 of them.
  • Hope your DD is okay and you had a better night last night x

thankfully yes (thanks for asking), we managed to avoid hospital, keep her at home, and now she is back to her old self - and last night I slept *all* night. bliss :)

Hmmmm - I have a food directory, but have almost never used it as I find it almost impossible to navigate.

I shall have a peek at that section now - see what I have been missing - thanks for the heads up

If you need any tips on swimming (improving stroke/getting more from your training) - let me know as i'm a level 2 asa qualified swim teacher lol and i have the asa parent and baby qualification :)

Thanks, I have Rheumatoid Arthtitis virtually all over:mad: and find that swimming helps a great deal:j, but am now finding that, because I only do breaststroke with my head out of the water (can't do the breathing thing:o) my back is suffering. I do not have the strength in my legs to do crawl/backstroke for any more than 1 length! Any advice/help you can give would be most gratefully received.

    TIA
    Juju

Dear Jujudrops, Additionaly you could also do some pilates to strengthen you back and core muscles, this is a low impact excercise and would let you carry on using your normal breaststroke.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:

'Breastroke - it is all in the timing!!! Break it down arms are stretched, legs are stretched 'the glide' the arms start their pull when they get to the chest the legs start their kick and they end together. The kick is dynamic and strong. Breathing is easy when the timing is right as you pull with the underwater portion of the pull the head will come up for a breath and as you kick out and the hands come forward the head will submerge. Some good drills are catch up which is 2 kicks, 1 pull to help with breathing and full stroke but really concentrating on the parts. '

The above is taken from the review i wrote on dooyoo but if you want to start getting the head down and breathing then get some good goggles and maybe borrow a woggle. With a woggle you can isolate and work on arms and legs - make sure it is under the arms and then stretch the arms and legs forward - starting with pull as soon as arms get to chest start leg kick. Once you have the timing right the breathing will kind of fall into place as when you pull under water your head will rise. Using a woggle is also a good idea as it will support you and put less strain on the back.

Also to strengthen the kick how about getting a kickboard or float and practising the kick, it adds variety and if you hold it at the top with head out should not put more strain on your back than head up breastroke........... always kick with straight legs and floppy floppy ankles! The kick is mostly from the feet!

so complicated to use.You are dead right Angie loves veg about not being able to navigate it.I'm keeping my fingers crossed when the new one comes out they will have gone back to the old format. If not , I will not be spending any money on something so complicated.

    Hope someone can help?

Got some Branston Chick peas in a Masala sauce, can not find `Branston` on syns online and on tin it says premier foods, but can not find under that. So did a syn cal on nutrition info and a tin came out at 19 syns on green!

    Can that be right?

    Thanks

Just compared it to a tin of baked beans and more of less the same

I went through this palaver with Branston - I can't remember how I did it now, but it is in there somewhere, and the chickpeas in masala are DEF Free on green. And they are dead tasty too :D

    here you go:

Premier Foods Branston Chick Peas in a Masala Sauce, canned 420g can

    Original 19 Syns Green Free

If you are having an Extra Easy day, choose the lower Syn value
