Hi Liz3yy - if you like ryvita then you'll like scan bran - but I just think they're tasteless and the devils food! You need LOTS of water to go with them but as consultant31 says they do get things moving. Don't worry about the 2lb gain - you had lots of lovely things to eat and drink last night so that's what's weighing inside your stomach! When it 'passes' through (with help of scan bran?) you'll be fine!

I love Ryvita, I could eat them all day! I'll give the Scan Bran a try then, can't hurt. I'm terrible for not drinking enough water though, yesterday I was very busy and ended up downing a bottle of Diet Coke in one as I was so thirsty, oops. Guess I need to start carrying a small bottle of water around with me

You really will need water with these things as they are sooo dry! Plus water helps things through too ;)

    Morning all :)

I weighed myself this morning - shouldn't really I know as official WI isn't until Sunday - and I'm showing a 2lb gain! eeeekkkkk! :( that'll be last nights birthday dinner and treats showing up then. We have tonnes of cake left over plus chocolates in the house that didn't get used up......help!

What I can do until Sunday to try and shift a 1lb or even two? I've worked really hard the past couple of months and I don't want one evening to ruin it all, even though it was a special occasion (OH really enjoyed himself!)

If I were you I'd slice up the remaining cake and freeze it so that when someone wants some you can take out just the 1 piece and not be tempted by the rest. If possible (and freezable) I'd do the same with everything else that's left over too. Out of sight, out of mind so to speak :D

As for the rest of the week, drink plenty of water and have as many SS foods as you can squeeze in - you'll be fine :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

ooh and I have all the ingredients in too! That'll be my project for tomorrow or Thursday! Thanks

    C xx

You're welcome. The only other way I can palate them is to pile high with cottage cheese, a little chopped onion & cucumber and a good sprinkling of Aromat. I lurve Aromat on cottage cheese and/or scrambled eggs, it gives band foods loads of flavour. I've found loads of people have never heard of it, but it's well worth trying - you can buy it in Asda or Tesco (shelved with the spices) at around 85p I think.

Hmmm the cake has tonnes of fresh cream in it and on the topping, would that freeze ok? it's a good idea if we can do it. Otherwise I'm happy to have a small piece every now and then to get it used up and count my full 15 syns on it

Im not sure fresh cream freezes all that well, it might go wattery and split when defrosted, maybe someone else could tell you for sure. Ive tried to freeze a carton of milk and thats what happened to that. You could maybe just scrape the cream off, it would still be lovely and chocolatey but less syns .

  • Re: Scan Bran - it is a bit of an acquired taste - my initial thoughts were that it tasted like a ceiling tile mixed with a raffia drinks coaster but they certainly take longer to eat than ryvitas and you'll strengthen your jaw muscles a treat.

That said, I actually quite like it now, especially with Laughing Cows and a apple on top - some of the cake recipes are yummy too
    I'd rather be watching CSI!
