So if I am following SW I have to cook one meal for me and possibly DD2 (who isn't fussy), one meal for OH and one meal for DD1.
I don't envy you with having to cook three different meals.
My hubby was a fussy eater but I am cruel and when we first got together he was informed I wasn't his mother and as we both worked long hours I wasn't getting up at 5.30 (like his mum did) to make his pack up he was a big boy and could make his own unless he was prepared to get up and make mine for me and that he had two choices eat what I was cooking or make his own. I know it sounds cruel but he now eats stuff he wouldn't have dreamt of eating once upon a time. yes I go without a lot of things like adding mustard into recipes but I also add stuff he wouldn't normally eat (especially if he doesn't see me making it lol) Kate :hello:0 -

When I worked full time I was just the same. He made his own sandwiches and, if he wanted something different to what I was cooking, then he had to do it himself (his mum thought I should run around after him seeing to his every need though!)
I am at home all the time now though so I do try to feed them all as best I can. My DD1 is only five foot tall but she is six and a half stone. It worries me how thin she is and has actually had a blood test this week to rule out anything like thyroid etc. So this is why I go out of my way to feed her what she wants.
My OH is like yours and does now eat things he used to pull a face at, however.:p0 -
Looks like I'm very lucky - not only will OH eat pretty much anything, but he now loves concocting curry's and chilli's with Quorn instead of meat even after long days at work! He said he prefers it as it doesn't sit so heavy afterwards0

Thanks so much for those ideas. I'll def. try the Marigold powder as I can't usually get enough taste into my home made bolognaises (even w. garlic lol)
I'm not keen on deviding every portion of dinner so I can have garlic and not him. It's enough that I cook virtually every meal in our house when we both work full-time (grumble grumble)
Thanks again!
Why not batch cook bolognaise sauce, 1 with & 1 without garlic. ;-You`ll only need to use 1 extra pan & then freeze in individual portions. You can then use for spag bol, chilli, lasagne etc.0 -
can someone give me a stern talking to please?
Been so bad these past few days (well since mon night really) and can't seem to get back on track again - have had chocolate, white bread, pizza, fish and chips etc
Wouldn't mind but I didn't even enjoy half of it <sigh> Feel so bloated and ick.
OH has gone back on shift work after being on days for 8wks and I'm all out of routine again which doesn't help
Trying to think of excuses not to go to class on mon cos I don't want to see a gain on the scales cos I know there's no chance of pulling back a loss cos of all the crap I've eaten this week
I could cry...Mum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j0 -

This is very educational for me!! I often wonder how other women deal with their other halfs demands :rotfl:
Logic tells me that the above is the exact same I should have said to my OH from the beginning. Bit late now 8 years down the line......
I'm only 35 years old but have always felt under pressure to confirm to a sort of 'victorian housewife' ideal i.e it's the womans job to do everything domestic.
I tend to swing between feeling obliged to do virtually everything and having a paddy and refusing to do anything
Gone completely off track from Slimming World now - v. sorry!0 -
dumpling - try and draw a line under it all. Imagine this is the first day you've joined Slimming World - write down everything you eat, plan the next few meals and start afresh. Drink plenty of water and see if you can get out for some walks this weekend while the weathers good. It will only be a disaster if you carry on eating what you were and don't go back to class - you'll stay the same or put even more wight on (as I do). Make a list why you want to lose weight and stick it to the cupboard/fridge.
Malaguti - it's not unlike me too! When I moved in with OH (two years last week) I got up at 6 to do his pack-up, made sure anything he wanted was in the cupboards/fridge, made sure dinner was ready(ish) for when he got in at night. I used to have an hour between me getting in from my full-time job to him getting in and I used to run round like an eejit tidying up, prepping veg only for him to come in and find me sitting at the laptop for 5 mins! I used to get very tired and have paddy's like you. Now I've just learnt that if he wants his lunch he can make it (though he usually buys it out as much as the expense is killing me he doesn't see it), if he runs out of porridge it's not the end of the world - he can have my museli, and if I don't know what to get for dinner, he'll offer to cook when he gets in
Now I'm redundant I'm starting to feel a bit paddy-ish again as he has no idea how much I do all day (I'm sure he thinks I just sit on here for 9 hours) but he works hard and is keeping a roof over our heads so I try and let it pass me by!

Can anyone give me some pointers as to what to do with quark? I read loads of recipes with it in - buy some then forget what I was going to use it for.
I know I can make laughing cow go further, or mix it with garlic to stuff chicken breasts, but can't think of anything else (don't do crudites and dips)

I can't really help except to say that I tried the trifle recipe from SW which had a mixture of quark, fromage frais and artificial sweetener on top instead of cream. I really didn't like the quark because it is cheesey and very tart. I would prefer to use a low sugar dream topping (although I don't know what syns are in this?)
I think quark would be better used in cheesey dishes, as you say, to make laughing cow go further.0 -
And one last question - can anyone tell me how many syns in a Milky Way cake bar
I can't find it in online syns.
