Thanks peachy - got it.
I've done 20 mins on the X-trainer this morning and now tucking into a brunch of bacon & mushrooms  Hopefully this will mean a good start!
Oh, if anyone fancies anything different for dinner on a red day I saw Orstrich steaks in Aldi yesterday and according to an old magazine I was reading last night they are free (on red/EE) & supposedly they taste like beef - will try them next time I'm there!0 -

Hi everyone, been lurking for a while but as I have now joined Slimming World as from last night, I thought I'd post and say how great this thread is for inspiration and support.
I'd like to lose a stone initially, if I can, then maybe an extra half a stone after that if I think that's realistic.
Everyone at my class was lovely, and it helped that my Sister-in-Law and two of her daughters were there too. They have all done brilliantly so far and were my inspiration to join up... if I only lose a fraction of what they have lost I'll still be very happy!
Just got to get my head around the books now...

Diamondgirl - if you have ANY questions just ask-there's rarely anyone on here who doesn't know the answer - and there's no such thing as a silly question - we've all been there!

macca1978- I love tofu! I only really like the smoked one or the silken tofu which comes in cartons. My fave things to do with the blocks of it are: grill it in strips and have it in a sandwich,
crumble the block into some mashed potato, make into 'cakes' then cover in breadcrumbs (i just toast my 2 slices of brown bread for HEB and crumble them.) and fry in frylight or HEB olive oil to make a kind of 'fish' cake! Yummy!
Cut into cubes and fry and add to stirfry or curry.
Cut into cubes and make into a skewer with other veg and then either fry or bake (or BBQ in summer!)
Tips for it are to grill or fry it so it isn't too squidgy, and marinade it before using it if using plain tofu.
The silken tofu is great for sauces, and for cheese cakes (google vegan recipes and loads of them come up using silken tofu) This is the stuff in cartons and is very versatile. I use it as an egg replacement and make a 'scrambled egg' style thingy which is yummy, but if you eat eggs then prob of no interest as you can have the real deal!
.
ooh cool thats useful, thanks. when i did it in a stirfry it seemed to crumble up loads - is that normal? or am i doing something wrong????0 -
Thanks very much Skint_Catt & peachyyest! I expect it'll take me a while to get to grips with red & green & EE, but I'll holler if I get stuck... If I think of anything that I can contribute, I'll do my best!0

Hi guys
I'm not at club at the moment but used to go and trying to get back into the swing of things at home before going back to club.
I'm a big lover of yoghurts but when my trusty Toffee Muller Lights aren't on offer, they're really quite expensive to eat every day.. Can anyone tell me any cheaper, syn free alternatives? I saw an earlier post about some Irish yogurts from tesco's so wondered if anyone had any other thoughts?
I presume the strawberry fruit corners have syns do they?
Also, could you tell me how many syns in a bottle of Red ?....
Thanks guys!0 -
