Hello, I joined SW a month ago and have lost 8lb so far and really chuffed. Trying to cook from scratch as much as possible and my lovely neighbour keeps giving me fruit off his allotment, this week its gooseberries but what can I do with them, has anyone got any ideas? i've been on the SW website but not found any on there.
    Thanks VLT

VLT, according to the book 350g of gooseberries, stewed, can be a Healthy Extra B, if that helps.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Well on a green day for example at night I sometimes make some SW chips to munch on late at night. I miss these on a red day. I also use my HEB for bread mainly or wheatabix so when I have my main meal on a red day I usually have a chicken or prawn salad, so im usually hungry later on. I still have lots of fruit on both days but I prefer green so I can have more filling meals. thats how I feel anyway, im sure others feel full on a red day. But green seems to work well for me and I usually lose 1-2lb a week if I stick to plan.
Why do you struggle with snacks on a red day?

Welldone on your loss, your doing well. Remember the weight will be coming off from all over your body, I used to see it in my shoulderblade/face first and still felt I had a big belly, then it all seem to even out. I also felt it took time to get used to a new slimmer me, I found it hard to accept my bum actually looked quite good, im sure yours does too. :T

I've just been for my third weigh in. I was worried that I might have put on as I have been away and found it hard to eat healthily. But I've lost half a pound, so am really pleased.
  • did I hear there was a new extra easy recipe book out? has anyone seen it? any good? my consultant doesn't have any books - you have to go to the other class in town to buy books. Want to know if its worth the trip :) thanks

I'm the same, Nic. I'm always hungry on a red day and I find my meals tend to be unbalanced. I would much rather have pasta and salad and a small amount of meat than piles of meat and very little pasta / potato. Meat can be so expensive too, so I tend to scrimp a bit on what I do meat-wise.

Although I was very dubious at first, I'm finding EE great for me. I couldn't possibly see how it could work, but it fits into my lifestyle quite well, I get really balanced meals and the weightloss seems much more steady. Slowed up the last few weeks due to personal issues, but at least I haven't put on. Back on track, so should be heading in the right direction again now. :T
