Hi and welcome. Mullerlights are free as long as you stick to the ordinary ones. The corners etc have syns as do the layered ones. Sugar-free jelly is 2 syns per sachet and a lovely pud can be made by making up a sachet of jelly with half the recommended water. Add a plain or flavoured yoghurt and whisk madly until it becomes frothy and almost doubles in volume. Allow it to set and it's lovely and only 2 syns for the whole bowlful.

Instant noodles (virtually fat-free ones) are all free as far as I know. Do check they are at least 98% fat free though.

For the online syns you need to have the manufacturers name and the name of the item you want so it wouldn't work to look for things you don't have a name for. However, there are plenty of very helpful and inventive people on here who are only too happy to help. All you need to do is ask :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Some low-syn pudding recipes for those feeling deprived..........

Coffee & Banana Cream (1 syn on Green or Red)

    1 sachet Gelatine
    ½ pint strong hot coffee
    1 banana mashed
    Artificial sweetener to taste
10 oz very low fat natural yogurt

Dissolve the gelatine in a little of the hot coffee.
Mix the remaining coffee with mashed banana. Mix together the gelatine & banana mixtures then add sweetener to taste
When at the point of setting add the yogurt and whisk until light & fluffy. Pour into 4 individual glasses and chill in the fridge until set

Apple Betty (7 servings at 2 syns per serving)

340g/12oz eating apples (6 syns when cooked)
    57g/2oz sultanas (8 syns)
    8 eggs
    Sweetener
    2 tsp vanilla essence
    Pot of vanilla Mullerlight
    Cinnamon
Peel, core and slice the apples, place into a flan dish and sprinkle on the sultanas.
Beat the eggs with the sweetener and vanilla essence, add the Mullerlight and beat again.
Pour over the fruit (allowing the mixture to sink) and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cook in a moderate oven 190c/gas mark 5 until set for approx 30 mins.
Serve warm or cold with sweetened quark or vlf fromage frais.

Sweet Omelette (Syn free on both days)

Beat 2 eggs with a splash of milk, and a tablespoon of sweetener.
Spray an omelette pan with Frylight and cook the eggs cook till just set.
Flash the pan under grill until omelette is golden brown.
Slide out onto a plate, then on one half add fruit of your choice, top with fruit yoghurt, then fold omelette over.
NB: Try a level tablespoon of (warmed) Nutella (4½ syns) spread on one half, top with chopped banana and fold omelette over. Serve with a blob of sweetened Quark.

Mix a sachet of Options with a couple of teaspoons of boiling water - just enough to make into a thick paste, and release the flavour. Mix this well with half a tub of quark and you have instant chocolate mousse - 2 syns and yummy!

Mix quark with lemon curd (1 level teaspoon = ½ syn), leave it in the fridge overnight. Add a crumbled meringue nest (3 syns) and you have a delicious pud for just a few syns.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Well done on your journey to date. I know how frustrating it can be, but a set loss each week is not really normal. Most of us lose at different rates each week because our bodies can hold onto extra fluid occasionally, we have hormonal fluctuations etc, etc.

The best suggestion I can make is to expect 1lb a week and be extra delighted if you get more, lol. Eat as many free foods as you need to keep yourself full, drink as much water as you can (I'm always pushing for 2½ litres a day) and try to use as many SS foods as possible.

Don't be impatient, the weight didn't all pile on in a matter of weeks, you shouldn't reasonably expect it to come off that fast, but it will come off if you follow the plan 100% (I promise).

Our little Grandson is absolutely gorgeous (not that I'm biased you understand). He's 7 months old now and a delight to be with. Thanks for asking and giving me chance to boast :D

    you boast away, lol

i gained this week, fully expected, i went out friday and saturday and was a tad tipsy, lol, so 1.5lb was a good gain

im fully on track and gone back to eating off my smaller plate, the portions look tiny but im no more hungry when ive finished than i would be if id used the normal huge plate

so im hoping for a loss of over 1.5lb, lol

thanks for getting back to me, fab to hear from ya! x

Hello, I don't often write but I religiously read all your tips daily to keep me going. Brownjasperdog asked about low syn spreads - what I've been doing when I absolutely HAVE to have something that resembles butter on bread is mix some quark with a packet of Lakeland Butterbuds. They are something like a quarter of a syn a packet and you would get enough "buttery quark" to put a thick layer onto a couple of slices of bread!

(I've also used quark mixed with beaten egg as the sauce part of carbonara quite successfully, it even looks like cream when you give it a good beating!)

And in case you are wondering my losses are slow and small but steady, it takes me about 2 weeks to lose a pound but as long as I am still enjoying my food that's all that counts to me! Well done to all of you, and thanks for, perhaps unknowingly, keeping me on the straight and narrow.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    Afternoon everyone,

sorry not to have posted a while but everyday life got in the way!

i have to fess up to having Domino's pizza last night:eek::eek:
I had a couple of slices crispy base and 2 slices of garlic bread and an oreo cookie (yum). Damage was probably 30 syns. the good news was that I hadn't used any syns during the day and I also turned down the glass of wine I would usually have on a Friday night. So I don't think the damage was terrible.

Having an extra easy day today:
B - egg, bacon, toms, mushrooms, 1 slice bread (HEB, but can have another 20g later)
L - sushi/californian rolls (a tiny bit of avocado in there , probably not even a syn but will count it)
D - chicken fajitas, replacing flour wrap with lettuce leaves. yogurt.

Am really thirsty recently- I've been doing quite a lot of exercise and it's been warm so I think that's why.

Had a lovely SW recipe from the saucy secrets book - peas, ham and mushroom sauce - will post it up later.
