shes back with the news of another stall (two weeks now) ive decided to go cold turkey on the sweets. Theres non in the house and whats not in the house I cannot eat - right!
Shame DD doesnt fancy stalling her screaming even for a short bit. Im sure she does it while asleep poor thing. Shes got a paed appt next month so hopefully they can increase her meds again.
I know weve mentioned in the past that cheese can stall people. Does anyone know why this is? I dodnt think im ready to give up my 2 best things yet. Also is it worth looking at my calories now. To generalise ive got a stone to loose and in my perfect world. 1.5 stones. However im 9 stone 12 now and 5 foot 3. So in my Drs eyes (and im sure she hated saying it im) no longer over weight. However if you could see my spare tyre you wouldnt think so. I am drinking plenty

Your weight is great. I admire your persistance with the problems that you face. I started at 19 stone:eek: but now weigh 14 stone 5 lb. as of today. Lowest weight in 30 years. Still a way to go but my GP has told me to stop when I get to 12 stone, if I ever get there, as she thinks that I will look bad and saggy. Should really be 10+ stone though.

Having problems drinking all that water so have included 2 decaff coffees and 2 Ribena Lights to stop the boredom. Do they count in the fluid allowance?

I actually like swede, mashed with butter, salt & pepper but it has to be cooked through. SIKKO!

I want to try the almond slices so may get the ingredients today as I need to do my weekly weigh and the supermarket is next door. Maybe add a little "tbls of dbl cream to topping - mine was a bit dry
Think that I have been pretty good this week so we'll see.

Well caeler, I am on week 3 of my diet and do have a fair bit of weight to lose, currently 12 and a half stone and 5ft 6 so think I will be on this level for a while, although I have been putting all my foods into my fitness pal and noticed that my calorie count with 20g of carbs is quite low at around 1100 cals so was thinking about having a few days a week with slightly more carbs so that I don't reduce my metabolism...not sure if anyone has a view on this?
That's v low calories. You could try upping your fats rather than carbs.

I haven't felt hungry at all today and had to force myself to eat. Went to the dentist and hygienist today. Hygienist said my mouth was dry and was I drinking enough - if I drank much more I would float, lol, but I guess the lc soaks up the fluids ? I do often feel thirsty, but must be drinking 3-4 litres a day, does that sound too little?NO! That's very good. More will deplete essential minerals etc.
Just off to make some mushroom soup for tomorrow's lunch (is it ok to have veg that way instead of raw?)YES!

You all are doing so well, hope my pointers helped.

ooooh Shelia - Decaf coffee what a good idea!! I should be drinking caffine right now but I can't help myself, I must buy some decaf!

Mazzer - prep is the key to success - you are so right. I have a lovely looking tuna with spring onion salad for lunch tomorrow, there is no way you can just pull that out of the fridge without some thought and prep. I'm working away Thursday/Friday and although I can prepare Thursday lunch and manage in a hotel at night but I've no idea what I'll eat Friday.

Once i get going i'm ok, if i haven't planned anything and need something quick i usually defrost a chick breast and butterfly it to fry quickly in butter (or a sirloin) and once cooked fry some frozen spinach in the juices, and add cream and black pepper for a tasty meal, a slice of buttered lc bread is the latest addition to this.

Also the large salad is ready to be dipped into quickly, just open a tin of tuna, chop some onion and mix both with some balsamic vinegar, or some sliced ham etc.
The waldorf salad is just walnuts, celery and a small amount of apple mixed into (full fat) mayo, simple but lovely with a mixed salad, and theres always homemade coleslaw.. grated onion, white cabbage and a small amount of carrot mixed into mayo, and is nicer when left overnight.

I also now have lc bread for a quick cheese or pate' on toast.

Mercy's 'fudge' is a lovely snack, it's more of a crustless quiche really, i layer mozzarella, salami, fried onions and mushrooms, some cherry toms, chopped sausage, diced chillies and pour over the egg/cheese/cream mix and top with grated cheese.. delicious hot or cold, but really hard to resist eating the lot ;)

These things are my staples when i actually stick to lc.. but a day of cooking sets you up for a good few days.

One of my fave quick desserts is quickly micro defrost some frozen berries sprinkled with splenda (goes really juicy) add some lidl yogurt (the lowest carb we've found) and top with a few chopped nuts, everyone in work fancies mine, even the ones with their mullers!

Not forgetting a big jug of soup ready to fill you up quickly.

    You're sounding SO postitive Mazzers!
    :T

    Yesterday's food:

    B: Couple frankfurters (1.4g)
L: Little nibbles of bacon, chicken and lettuce with a bit of mayo/vinaigrette (~1g..)
T: Curry: (no idea.. 5-15..?) and lots of diet coke (neg. carbs. but oh my.. aspartame.. )

O: Tea, coffee, s/f chewing gum, gin & slimline tonic, square of 85% choccie with a 'proper coffee' when finally got home (~3g..?).

    Total carbs. ~20g
    (guesstimate really)

Exercise: None unfortunately... was hoping to when we got home, but it was after 8 and was tired..

    Hi
Why not take an avacado with you for Friday and take some cold meat / cheese / hard boiled egg from breakfast at the hotel, if they have it. Ready made lunch!

hannoja - good luck with the weighing

Mercy - thanks for the tip about the cream

I have never been any good at making bread but need to have flax and have now bought some. The health food shop said that Linseed is the same thing so please can someone confirm that? Also best tasting flax recipe from anyone please?

    Thanks

Breakfast - 1 scrambled egg, 1 rasher bacon and 1 ryvita

Lunch - I might try the soup that Mazzers suggested

    Have a good day everyone!!

Linseeds are the seeds of the flax plant so, yes, they are the same thing.

You can make lino out of them too. Probably doesn't taste very nice though.

Yes Hann, i am more positive :)
Got two lc days under my belt so it gets easier now.

I have to lose some weight to fit back into my clothes as i've got training for a temporary job soon and it's smart casual instead of staff uniform and i'm not buying new.. in a bigger size!!!
There will be permanent jobs for some, the others return to their old jobs, so nothing to lose by applying.

Am looking forward to starting on 27th.

I am making a curry and burgers today so even more choice for when i come home starving.
The curry is butter chicken on the first page link, it's on video jug so easy instructions and it's fab.

I have run out of room in my fridge and its a big one :D
I will have to squeeze some in the freezer.

    How's everyones weigh in/losses going??
    Fingers crossed for you.

    Here you go:

    1-Minute Muffin
    1/4 cup Flax Meal
    1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
    1 packet Splenda
    1 teaspoon Cinamon
    1 Egg
    1-2 teaspoons Butter

    1.5 Carbs

Mix the dry ingredients in a large coffe cup. Add egg and butter; mix well. Microwave for 50-seconds to 1-minute. Muffin pops right out

You can make it sweet or savoury, or half almond meal and half flax. It is very forgiving and I never weigh anything. It's great for a quick fix buttered with soup (obviously without the cinnamon! and splenda). Try it with mixed herbs too. I usually need 1min and 10 seconds in my micro though.
  • Mercy, thanks for the feedback on the liquid intake. I do drink tea during the day too.

Sheila, well done on the terrific weight loss so far. You CAN do it.

I read a little on the web about the Harcombe diet (and watched her on yourtube), and although I don't want to follow it, some of what she said really made me think. Sugar really is evil and at the moment I have absolutely no desire to use it. Long may that continue, lol.

Mazzers, I haven't weighed myself yet. Thought I'd wait until the weekend, and see then. Will let you know .....

Hope you are all having a great lc day.
