Hey, i thought this was the low carb thread
Today its the low carb painting thread
I know what you mean about 15 teabreaks lol i`m having another cuppa now - been bad and been drinking normal tea with milk today but i`m blaming the weather:D
I`ve painted everywhere except one wall
I`ve run out of that particular paint now so i`m going to have to get some more tomorrow, i thought that i would have plenty but the plaster just seems to drink it:eek:
I`ve just tasted the beef & chorizo chilli thats bubbling away in the slow cooker and its a bit :eek:
I wonder if another tin of tomatoes would calm it down a bit?
Think i`ll just eat it as it is and nuke a baking spud for DH to have with his. I was going to do rice and cauli rice for me but cba now. My neck aches and i`m covered in tiny white splodges from the spatter of the paint roller. Hope it all comes off my glasses lol.
Sweet - You naughty girl:rotfl:
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Phew.. i'm getting there

only if you dont let on ive had a kfc
meadowhell was packed , but managed to get a parking space right outside boots
had lunch in the oasis with DD1 (the aforementioned KFC)
then she dragged me round too many shops looking for a winter jacket
and i managed to get her the boots 'better than half price offer' no7 make up and face care for xmas
kn@ckered now going to have a tea break lol0 -
nuttybabe i'm exactly the same, if i have one i end up having 20 i have no will power so i just have to avoid being around temptation at all! I got some psyillium husks in capsules from HB as they are half price and the powder isn't very convenient for me right now.
sistercas you could try reducing your carb intake now(have 1 LC meal a day and give up biscuits or something like that) so that when you can LC after xmas you won't miss carbs as much and it will be easier not to cheat.
I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 0.6kg but I think it should be more so I'll weigh myself tomorrow or sunday after the husks have taken effect
I got a big tub of Meridan chunky peanut butter from H&B and it's so nice, it's the nicest peanut butter I've ever had!! I ended up eating two tablspoons straight from the tub
I'm looking at the ebay shop for the gluten flour but can't decide whether to buy it or not. I don't really eat that much bread but it would be nice occasionally. Can you make pita breads from it?
Is the texture the same or close to real bread? I'm so scared :rotfl:Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

The texture was rather like spongey foam (the gluten) but with the nut flour and less gluten it's much better.
It's not like real bread, but its very good, much better than the quick flaxbread.
If i were you i'd make the quick flaxbread thicker than usual and try to split it to make a pocket like a pitta.
I'm getting 4kg of gluten and would be happy to send you enough to make a loaf for you to try it
Let me know and pm me your address if you want it.0 -

CHEESE STRAWS Lowcarb version
60g parmesan, finely grated
60g grated almonds
45g cold butter diced
salt and freshly ground pepper
you can add 2 tablespoons fresh chopped rosemary, or caraway seeds, or paprika powder, or chilli powder or freshly ground black pepper, whatever you fancy
Preheat oven to 200 degrees
Mix all ingredients together quickly, shape into q dough ball, leave for 30 mins in the fridge to cool.
Then roll out dough to about 1 / 4 inch thickness and cut out with cookie cutter or with a knife to cut strips/straws.
Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes.
I tried the rosemary version, but with 1/2 the ingredients just to see what they were like (made 8 short straws). They sort of spread in the oven so I think I used slightly too much butter, if I can get it right they would be good for a drinks/nibbles/buffet-type spread with a glass of red. Hardly any carbs.
Sort of...? Mine ended up virtually joined together, like one big, almost burnt mess! However, I've picked them off the tray and put them on a plate, and apart from a couple of charred bits, they're surprisingly nice: glad I added chilli flakesI couldn't roll the mixture either: ended up 'fashioning' straw-like 'sausages' with my hands.. Used a little soya flour to reduce stickiness a bit.. Turned out quite well considering :rotfl:
Oh I did only use a 50g bag of Parmesan. I also bought normal almonds, chucked the required amount in a bag and gave them a good bashing with a......... hammer......:rotfl:
Let us know if you improve the recipe. Not sure I'll be trying it again just yet. The main reason being that if I make anything like this I have trouble keeping my paws off it
No results on the Psyllium husk front atm........ (or should I say 'rear'..... lol). Only had the 2 tsp in water yesterday. Had twice that today... will I explode..?
Stuffed. Just scoffed fried liver, onions and mushrooms with cauli. mash.
Lunch was a rushed cheese and Brazil nut-fest. Oh and a peperami.
Brekky was my usual 2 chilli Herta frankfurters with a little squirt of Heinz reduced salt & sugar ketchup.
The wii told me I've gained a pound this week, but it changed it's mind a bit when I moved the balance board lol. Uneven carpeted floor really isn't the best for precision weighing.0 -

Trying to do our meal planner for the week but really can't decide what to have. I think it is because I have christmas on the brain & can't wait to cheat
On a plus note my weight did not go up after being away 3 days this week :jLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Evening all
Sunny - i bought the aldi ones today. wasnt planning on going but as i was out i thought i would.
Mazzers - i seem ok as long as i can manage without stuff for a week ie chips, bread, choccy. but if i have any then thats my downfall.
Adelight - thanks for that, might have to pop inthere next time i am in town. i amusaully ok as i drink water but not drinking as much as usual and feeling a bit 'blocked'
hannoja - thats for reposting the recipe - now i dont need to search for it. i was thinking of cayanne pepper in mine to give it a kick!might just make them as traybake and cut them up when cooked??????
i am so pleased today. firstly cos i bought a pair of river island jeans for £1.20 (looks almost new) in charity shop and secondly cos they are a size 10 and are not as snug as i usually wear them so i have a little room to 'bloat' from xmas and new year and holiday.but also are perfectly fine but with a belt. and did i say they are a size 10.
hubby brought home my fav wine today so going to have a glass or 3!!! :rotfl:0
