I've been as-near-to-zero carbs now for over two years, and nicka99, I just LOVE pork scratchings...well pork crackles which have less calories, as I also do CR!

    I've bought pork scratchings from:-

Morrisons...and pork crackles, which I buy here...mmm my fave!
    Poundland
Tescos...my local one just has the crackles
    B&M

and, of course, lots of pubs do the Mr Porky pork scratchings...if you're into a tipple!!!

    HTH

    S

ETA just posted and seen other posts added....in Tescos they are hung up on those strip-things, in various aisles, in particular, the crisp and booze aisles!!

These are supposed to be nice as well - they were sold in Asda last year, don't know if they still have them though.

Also they sell pork scratchings/crunch things in Home Bargains if you have one.

Anyone know of any 'normal' i.e. physical shops that sell sugar free sweets?

    Hiya hanno :hello:

I think most supermarkets sell sugar free sweets, not sure how low-carb they would be though??

I know Asda definitely sold them the last time I was in there - they were with the bagged sweets alongside the Atkins/low-carb stuff.

Another possibility would be Thornton's diabetic range??

I bought some in cute little boxes from M&S and love the orange and lemon ones. Sugar free mints and gum are easy to find, but I'd like a bit more choice. I bought some 'De Bron' wine gums from Avidlite and really liked them, but I don't want to get more stuff from there really if I can help it. Put a bottle of low-carb ketchup and a couple of little bags of sweets in their basket yesterday and it came to £10  Then they arrive in a ridiculously huge box containing mostly bags of air!

I'm not a big sweet eater, but it's nice to have them occasionally.

Btw, I know about the laxative affects of these things. That's not a problem atm believe me!
I have some of these in my drawer at work left over from WW diet and although they are low sugar they are not low carb so be careful. I examined all my packets and came to the conclusion I couldnt eat any.

  • I saw these at asda this week so they definitely still have them in some stores. I was steering clear because of the salt content, but it looks good for (lack of) carbs

That's interesting. I couldn't see any when I looked in Asda. The one I went in don't do Atkins bars either. I get my Atkins bars in Tesco...
    Will have another look.
    Thanks

I work shifts too. I've been doing a low/no carb thing since August and I'm doing quite well. But when I work nights I really struggle. I find I don't sleep very well during the day with no carbs. (prob my imagination!!) and on the first night I have been up all day eating, then I'm up all night... Eating! I do a week of nights once a month and know I'll lose next to nothing that week. :o

Its horrible isn`t it, my poor bod wonders whats happening lol, i just get into a kinda routine and then go onto a late shift so its one extreme to another. I`m sleep deprived now as i was going to go to bed early for a change but DH came home and wanted to go to @ldi!

anyone know where I can get pork scratchings which I think Im allowed as a low carb snack ? I normally shop at sainsburys online and nothing on there - been into tescos and they dont have them - at least not in any sensible place like with the crisps or nuts and no staff were around to ask !

I`ve seen them in both @sda and M0rrisons, i only buy them every once in a while as a bag of those cost me a tooth a while back

    :p

Breakfast this morning was bacon, scramblies and mushrooms - both cooked in butter

Dinner was salami & cheese and then later a couple of slices of lc bread with hm pate

Tea was lamb, cabbage, a teeny bit of carrot and lots of cauliflower. Had some naughty gravy but only a tiny bit on the lamb. I`m now knackered and lazing on the sofa with a bit of almond choccy :D

Another long early shift tomorrow, 1 down 6 to go
