Sunnyday - have you had any more success with lc bread in the breadmaker? I have been looking for a recipe suitable for the breadmaker and was going to give that one a try until I saw your update post!

I have made an easy cheese bread in the oven recently which was lovely and about 1-2g carbs per portion. I can post the recipe if you would like?

OO i would lurve the recipe please :D

The loaf is still in the breadmaker and has ten minutes left, so far so good and i hope that it doesn`t collapse as i keep lifting the lid for a quick peek :D

If it turns out well then i`ll post a piccy, i`m really looking forward to it as the entire loaf should be 20 carbs so a couple of slices for a sandwich would be fantastic.

I have a beef stew in the pressure cooker atm, i`ve chopped all the veggies really big so that i can seperate them easily and DH can have the carby ones :D

  • WOW! that looks good. I don't miss bread as such but a sandwich for lunch would be ideal to squeeze in between work and the school run.

http://www.lowcarbcafe.com/modules.php?name=Dynamic&op=viewdyn&dyn_id=140 This is the cheese bread recipe. First batch I made as rolls, second batch I cooked as a loaf but it does'nt rise well - still yummy though. Whatever you do don't try to roll it out as mine was very sticky!

Thanks IAP, that looks really nice - its been bookmarked :D

I`ve just had a ham and cheese sandwich, and its great. I`m still amazed at how light it is, DH says its like a balloon lol.

I was going to slice and freeze it but i may just leave it in the bread bin to see how long it keeps.

I`ll definitely be making this quite a bit as it will save me so much time when looking for things to take to work for lunch.

If it toasts well then i can go back to my fave sardines on toast for breakfast sometimes too :D

As a vegetarian who is happy low carbing I would have to disagree with this :)

I have tried many different eating plans but this is the only way I feel at peace around food. I do not think of food all day because I am no longer driven by the gnawing hunger that would overcome me inbetween my regular carb fixes.

In the run up to xmas I am surrounded by chocolates, cakes etc at home and at work but I can honestly say I am not even tempted.

On any other diet where you could incorporate an allowance of such food I would be feeling deprived and would drive myself crazy trying to avoid it by filling up eating free food before finally cracking and eating it anyway! I don't have this problem when low carbing.

100% agree - low carb is so different from any other diet I have tried. I have lost all my bloating and feel so much more energetic and not in the least deprived and I do not spend my day thinking about food - quite the opposite in fact.
sunnyday - I have been following your journey with the lc bread and am curious as to how you sorted out the recipe. Please let us know as it looks scrumptious :T- I am jealous.

Hmmmm - this seems gorgeous as well - can't wait to try it out - thanks for this.

    Hi Beanrua,

this is the final cut so to speak :D

    8 Tablespoons water
    1 Egg
    1 Tablespoon butter
    2 Tablespoons splenda
    5 & 1/3 Tablespoons ground flax seed
    4 Tablespoons soy flour
    12 Tablespoons vital wheat gluten
    1 Teaspoon dried yeast

I put it all in the panny on rapid loaf setting with a light crust, it was a bit more difficult to cut today as its very light and squashy so i may freeze it for a short spell to firm it up a bit. The only thing that i would probably change is to try it with less splenda and see if that affects it at all. I keep getting a sweet taste which i`d rather not have if poss. Other than that its great :D

Can't seem to find soy flour. Been away last week and although I was really good and managed to sort out low carbs at mealtimes I put on almost 3 lbs. Two reasons I think - I didn't drink enough water and secondly I drank wine in the evenings!!!!
Weighing myself when I came home was an eye opener and a wake up call to be vigilant. I'm now back on course and am being very strict re low carbs and drinking plenty of water. 1lb now to go to get back to where I was before I went away last week. 2.5 lbs to my second target weight and 9.5 to my long term target weight. I really hope to do this before Xmas. How's everyone else doing?

    Hi Beanrua

Hope that you had a great time!
i`ve been very good apart from yesterday :o

We had family round for a very rarely cooked Sunday dinner and i had some gravy and a small jacket spud with mine :D I paid for it though with a pound on the scales this morning.

11lb off so far if i ignore the above and my clothes feel different altogether, i`m very pleased so far.

The lc bread is a regular part of my diet now, i`m using only one spoon of splenda and hope to reduce that gradually if it doesn`t affect the loaf. I found soy flour at Holland & Barratt and as such a small amount is used it should last quite a while.

I do keep nipping at the voddie sometimes of an evening but i`ve found that a tiny amount is ok, my loss is slower than in the past but its not just the weight thats going, i know that later my body will begin to change shape. It will have already but there`s so much damn lard wrapped around my bones that its not noticable yet :rotfl:

Had a great time thanks sunnyday. Was on Isle of Islay for a week - would definitely recommend it for a trip for anyone. Like you, I notice a big difference on my clothes and am now able to fit into some of my old clothes which I love. I'll check out Holland and Barratt - not one in my town so next time I am in big city I'll check it out. Soy flour seems to be an ingredient in so many of the recipes I have seen on low carb forums. I love the way you just ignore the one pound on and move on - that's the spirit - just keep on going forward!!!!
