When you get into the jist of low carbing, after a few days your body will go into ketosis, so it will stop you from craving food. I love my eggs personally, BUT if your not an egg lover, you can still eat bacon, lower carb sausages (as long as you stick to a certain amount of carbs thats in the nv), You could also try low carb shakes. find a pharmacist that does the lipotrim (meal replacement diet) and tell them you would like to do the maintanence plan, and buy a few shakes off of them, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, and you could have one of these for breakfast, tuna and salad for lunch, and chicken with veg for dinner, not every day, just an example..

google is your friend though :)

there are lots of diets out there - and they all work if u can stick to them for long enough.

you don't HAVE to cut carbs to lose weight - eat off a smaller plate, eat smaller portions, eat less processed food.

drink lots of water inbetween meals and cut snacks.

this along with the zumba and shred should see you right

    good luck

Have you tried green tea with lemon? I love it! I leave the tea bag in the cup for a good few minutes but I don't stir or squeeze the bag as it tastes really bitter when I do that.

on the green tea front - don't leave the bag on for too long, as it goes bitter.

lynzpower, I'm not following a diet just wanted to cut down on the carbs. Actually forgot my biggest carbs consumption is deffo pasta :o I never think of eating bacon or sausage for breakfast, I'm so stuck on toast and cereal!!

darlyd, thanks for the idea of low carb shakes, I'll look into that. I know I have to re-think what I'm eating and get used to a different way. I can eat stuff I know I shouldn't just because it's easy to make or because everyone else wants it.

hot.chick, yeah I really need to waych what I'm snacking on. I can easily skip meals and then snack on total rubbish... eeek!! I'm sure my prtion sizes need looking at too... OH is 6ft6 and eats like a horse. I'll try not to fill my plate with as much food as his next time :o

shop-to-drop, I've got the green tea with lemon. BUT I am stirring it and yes it does taste bitter. Tomorrow I'll try it your way :T

Thanks everyone, given me plenty to think about and I can already see were I'm going wrong and what I need to change :D

Slimming world I think is your freind to be honest. theres no restriction on portion size and you can eat as much free food as you like - pasta included along with potatoes, rice, couscous etc.

Theres a great slimming world thread on this part of the forum. You can eat out fairly easily on it and is the only "diet" youll ever need.

    Ever.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Sadly SW never worked for me on the green days, I always gained weight :(. BUT the red days, yes pretty good. But of course got pretty boring.

So I moved over to weight watchers, lost a stone in 10 weeks. last 3 weeks been a night mare, 0.5 loss then 2xsts SO I have not tracked this week, as I am so de-motivated :(.

Will get back into it soon though, as my over hang (sorry tmi) is causing me major problems.. And I am needing to use my inhalors more.

Only have 4 stone (probably 5 now) to go, so fingers crossed..

    Hiya :D

Got a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me with.

First, I've decided to start trying to drink one cup of green tea a day. BUT it's vile and I'd like to know if theres a way to make it nice. If we're out of milk I can drink black tea no probs but this stuff is horrid... I tried a bit of honey but it's not nice :o

Green tea only needs to brew for 2-3 minutes, any longer and it will taste bitter and is not a pleasant drink (as you say....)..Make sure you're not using too much,a small teaspoon for one person is enough.Use water heated to 80c,it doesn't need to be boiling.

My favourite is Gunpowder Green Tea.I buy it in my local Chinese supermarket.

    HTH.

Hmm, I think green tea is an acquired taste. It is very different to 'normal' tea. Black tea I think has been oxidised and green tea hasn't.

My friend likes the green, - it is said to be good for you , but while I can drink green tea if I have to, LOL I still prefer black tea.
