Hi guys!
I continue to plod along. I have lost a dress size (it is actually more than a dress size because my clothes in a size 18 were embarrassingly tight) but I am a comfortable 16 now.
I had mash and roast pots and yorkie pud on Sunday though! We were out for lunch and I couldn't resist. And we have had a chinese tonight (although I stuck to hot and sour soup and ribs) so I have been really bad!
I go on holiday in 2 weeks time...don't think I am going to lose the other dress size in time but I will keep going until we go. Eat sensibly whilst we are there (I usually lose weight on holiday anyway - the result of not being stuck at a desk all day) and then reassess on our return.
Hope everyone is well!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Morning again
Had a good day yesterday, well spent most of it driving to Glasgow and back so had a hearty breakfast.
Today is calmer, just had some left over cheese from breakfast and have got chicken for lunch. Think I'll have to do some shopping this afternoon as the fridge is almost bare though the freezer is full... mmmm, needs more thought then.
Drank loads of water yesterday so had to stop at almost every service station on the M74  on the way up. Learnt my lesson on the way down!
Happy LCing folks - and well done for all dropping dress sizes I see around me.
:T0 -
Just me then??
Another glorious day here so walking is on the cards.
Yesterday I made another concoction for evening meal - shredded pointed cabbage steamed and the fried with pancetta, mushrooms and onion. Added some sliced chicken breast which had been marinaded in soy sauce, lemon juice and some chillis. Cooked them all up and then added some Boursin cheese which melted and became a sort of sauce. Looked truly horrible but tasted truly lovely.
Today's plans are based around work. Lunch will probably be some salady type thing.
Hope everyone is OK.0 -
Sounds fab Gers!
I miss cheese terriblybut I just keep thinking that I only need to do this for a short while and then I can start to re-introduce things like fruit and cheese to my diet slowly and begin to stabilise my weight.
Every time I feel like giving up I just keep thinking that in 6 short weeks I have gone from feeling crap about my body to feeling ok-ish about it.
6 weeks and 2 days and 22lb 6oz lighter :T
I reckon I might have another stone to go to make me 100% happy but it suddenly seems doable
Hope everyone else is doing well xxplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hello everyone, My DH & I started our Atkins type Low Carb diet 19 days ago, I'm 5" 3 & started off at 13st 10 & am now 12st 12, my partner who is 6" 1 was 18st 7 & is now 16st 12. This is the first time either of us have dieted & while I'm eating more my DH eats less. We've been together for 19 years & when we were first together we were both around 5 stone lighter.
Although we both miss certain foods, on the whole we stick with it & enjoy the food we eat, lots of olives, watercress, cucumber, salads & Brie + meat eggs & fish & veg & avocado with breakfast + vitamin tablets, hemp powder & flax seed, added to home made burgers etc.
I also make up milk with 1 pint of full cream milk, a pint & a quarter of water half a spoon of fruit sugar & a sprinkle of salt & DH has it with bran flakes & tea, while I no longer take milk or sugar in coffee or tea.
We do still drink at weekends, I have 4 bottles of real ale on Fri & Saturday & DH has 4 bottles vintage cider. I find not changing our drinking habits means we are more likely to succeed, although we realise we would probably loose more if we didn't, our weight seems to stay the same at weekends.
This way of eating really suits us & although we are spending a bit more on food, the only outlay other wise has been The New Atkins book.
We'd both like to loose 4st, although more importantly for me I'd like to fit in 12/14 clothes rather than the 16/18 I'm wearing now.0 -

Alternatively, we just put chilli on a bed of spinach (uncooked) and it just wilts.
I'm a big fan of watercress so often have this with curry, but DH, suggested he'd like to have Cauliflower instead so will be trying this, thank you.0 -
Had a craving for cauliflower cheese but didn't want the flour in the sauce. Worked for me... not the prettiest dish in the world but it tasted exactly right for me. :j
Cheese added to creme fraiche makes a good cheese sauce & it can be diluted to required texture with water or milk & can also be boiled. As with milk full fat is lower carb than reduced fat.0 -
Morning again.
Just having my decaff coffee and a nibble of cheese before getting ready. Having my hair cut this morning and then need to get on with a pile of work.
Lunch will be a big salad with chicken and then think we're out this evening for a meal with colleagues so will be able to have something like steak.
Cheers!0 -
Well i just stepped on the electronic scales that we have here and they turned themselves off, and wont come back on yet, not a good sign i guess.
Anyway, along with the low carbing i am doing(have introduced them a little as i did not feel very good with next to none) i am also doing 30 minutes of exercise a day in the gym, which consists of 20 minutes on the walk/ski thing and then 10 mins on a bike, also walking 2.5K a day to lunch and back again, so hopefully i will notice a difference as long as i keep it up.
I have also designated Saturday as an allowed drinking day while at work, it helps me enjoy it a little bit more.
Have a nice weekend everyone0 -
I think you have got to be able to relax a little sometimes - life is for living after all.
We are out for SILs birthday on Sat but it is to a pan-asian buffet so I should be able to avoid carbs if I choose to...although I may just want to eat what I like and stuff the diet for the evening
And I will definitely be partaking in a drinkie or two :beer:
Have a great weekend everyone.
Edit - boozer, did you scales ever come back to life?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
