Aww, that sucks Boozer but keep it up. My weight doesn't seem to be falling off so fast this week either but I'm waiting to see what the scales say on my 'official' weigh day on Monday.
It can help to keep a note of your measurements as well as weighing. Sometimes the scales say you've lost nothing but the measurements say you've lost an inch on the waist. Maybe try that too?Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190

Yes, i think this is the big test, i am on an oilfield camp so wear coveralls all day and tracksuit at night, never jeans, so i know how they felt when i came here 2 weeks ago and i still have another 3 weeks left, so i will wait until then and hopefully i will just slide into them, we shall see, also need to up the exercise a lot.0 -
Hello everybody, I wanted to say a quick hello - I intend to join you all in LCing on 28 August*. So I've been doing some meal planning and diet investigation tonight so I'm all ready once I return. However, I've gone through my cupboards and I've been checking out the carb content of my normal foods and favourite foods (many convenience I'm afraid) and I can't eat ANY of them!! I know I'm going to find this very hard because a fresh loaf of bread is my holy grail along with pesto on pasta. But reducing my BMI a few points is far more important.
(*Future date because I'm off on holiday and it will be impossible to enforce LC. I'm staying with family in Europe and if I'm fussy I'll probably never get invited back!! Although seriously I am going to consider what I'm eating so its not such a shock upon my return).0 -
Heya bluefuzzybug :hello: hope you have a nice holiday.
I try to do low carb instead of no carb. Like if I really want bread what I do is buy a weight watchers loaf, I split it into sandwich bags at 3 slices per bag and then freeze them. I take a bag out the night before and can have the 3 slices when I want, usually 2 as a sandwich at lunch and 1 for supper. The slices are small but at lunch time I usually add more filling than I would a normal sandwich and it fills me fine until I'm home for dinner. I give myself up to about 3 bread days a week. Also, instead of bread I'll choose low GI options such as oatcakes with a high protein topping.
Use up your pesto spread on a chicken breast or something, I done that the other night along with a giant pile of veg and it was delish.
I also make things like bolognese, chilli, curry etc and instead of having it with rice or pasta I have it on top of salad or vegetables or just on its own. I'll have lots more of the bolognese/chilli/curry than I would have had if pasta or rice had been there and it fills me up for the entire evening. If you live with other people and they are having rice or pasta and you feel like you're really missing out then 1 tablespoon of the stuff wont kill you but still have more of the protein and veggies to fill you.
Hope some of that helps.Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190

Hi People! I started reading this thread a while ago in preparation for a LC diet. I was already eating low fat and struggling with feelings of great deprivation and my goodness what a difference. After just a few weeks following the IPD I have found that I NEVER feel hungry during the day (although if I wake at 5am I am usually hungry), My appetite has decreased substantially, I just cannot eat the volume of food that I used to. My sweet tooth is under control and I have lost 10lbs. I feel great!!
I have spent my whole life searching for a way to lose weight without fighting my hungry self every single day. I feel at peace and able to carry on till I reach my goal at long last. Thank you all for the information and encouragement on this thread.Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate0 -

We have grated cauliflower as a rice substitute. Grate cauli, put in pyrex bowl with no added water. Cover in cling film and put a few ventilation holes in and microwave for 4 minutes. Fantastic substitute for rice!
Alternatively, we just put chilli on a bed of spinach (uncooked) and it just wilts.0 -
Evening food was a tub of egg mayo with bacon. Thank goodness LC helps eliminate wind from the system. :rotfl:
Gers is this a bought tub or did you make it if so - how?
Is soya milk better or can I use skimmed milk for coffee?[/QUOTE]
Sorry - been away again and then distracted by work  The answer really is both, I sometimes buy (as I did then) the tubs of free range egg mayo and egg mayo with bacon from Sainsbury's and sometimes make it myself. Yep, and no wind is a real bonus.

Morning folks - been dipping in and out cos of time constraints and then I had a real bender last weeked
first one for ages and ages and it made me ill!
Anyhow - yesterday I made a concoction with some boiled cauli which I then broke with a fork and fried in coconut oil with pieces of bacon. Then I added a pile of grated cheese mixed with mustard and some cream. All a big pile of loveliness. Had a craving for cauliflower cheese but didn't want the flour in the sauce. Worked for me... not the prettiest dish in the world but it tasted exactly right for me.
My weekend of carbs just reinforced that I love being on low carbs, but sometimes miss the textures of some foods. Didn't crave the taste just the texture. Oh well, it's done and can now walk past the rubbish again. Didn't hurt myself too much on the fall from the wagon and it wasn't too high to climb back on again.
I don't weigh myself at all - far too depressing a thing to do - but rely on clothes fitting or not fitting for encouragement. But, but but... low carb works much better than low fat.
Hope everyone is doing well, read some good weight losses when I caught up this morning.

Oh dear, I had a really bad day yesterday. I had been out shopping for a last minute birthday present at dinner time, hadn't eaten since some soup at 12, the shop was really busy and it just all swirled together to give me low blood sugar, stress and what felt like an oncoming panic attack. So ended up feeling awful, buying a load of junk to eat that made me feel worse and then felt ill for the rest of the night. Doesn't matter that I've cleaned my teeth 3 times since but I still have this cloying sweet taste at the back of my throat
So trying again today, doesn't help that we're going out to an italian for dinner and there will be birthday cake later.
