Morning all. I've swapped to green tea at work in an effort to cut out the milk that's creeping in (I have lactofree at home but always forget to bring some in to work). Any idea how many carbs are in a cup of tea with milk?
Had nice dinner last night of lamb chop with roasted green peppers and aubergine, plus cauli mash. Had quite a small portion and felt hungry later in the evening but managed to have a chai tea and a handful of smoked almonds to stave it off, and went to bed with my stomach feeling pleasingly flat, if you know what I mean. I so wish I'd learnt to do that when I was a girl, would have saved so much heartache.
Anyway, onwards. I am dreading the next week as I am away for most of it and therefore out of control of my food. IN laws should be OKish as they know how we're eating but we get the usual 'ooh, can you eat couscous? What about pasta?' when we've been low carbing, on and off, for about three years now. You'd think they'd have got it. I actually think my mother in law deliberately chooses not to understand it because she disapproves of the diet (not that she knows anything about it). She's always trying to eat the usual low calorie diet adn just doesn't believe me when I tell her that low carbing is better nad healthier. She's going to have to believe it though as DH has lost 20lbs and it's really visible (my 11 lb loss is less so).
But then we're going to my Aunt and Uncle whom we don't see often. They do know how we're eating but again I'm dreading just loads of salad with no dressing, which will make me so hungry that I'm bound to break the diet. IT's so hard to tell people that fat is OK, they look at you like you're mad.
So my aim is not to put any weight on over the easter break. We're going armed with diet friendly food, which should help.0 -

My breakfasts at the moment are really yum - sometimes I have them as a pudding too. I jkeep bags of frozen berries in teh freezer; put abuot 10 raspberries in a bowl, blitz them for a minute on the microwave so that they are pulverized, add greek yog and splenda and mix, then toast some flaked almonds and put them on top. I think if you added some almond essence it would essentially be bakewell tart in yoghurt form. Nom!0

hi, this could be another silly question but here goes lol...could i mix together cooked cabbage, onion, and cauli together, bind it with an egg and fry it to make a type of bubble and squeak? thought it might be nice with gammon... any ideas anyone? thanks0
-
also, what could i mix with the lidl yoghurt to disguise taste of yoghurt as i dont like it, also can i freeze it to make it like ice cream, or what could i use to make something ice cream like??i am on induction phase , thanks0

Not really sure about what to do with the yoghurt, as only time I use it as a marinade with chicken and tandoori mix.
Think your bubble and squeek mix could be delish.
Sugar free jelly is a life saver for me - usually have it with berries and cream, and sometimes with a sprinkle of chopped nuts.0
