Just made the new version BNS soup, this time with more cabbage and 3/4 of a whole celery (leaves and all) and no carrot, i think the carrot makes it tastier, but is very good and enough to feed the street, the pan is almost the size of a bucket :rotfl:
So less carby i presume, also, the veg stock cube is 1.7g per cube and i only used the one :)

See, inane drivel, i'm very good at that ;)

I was considering that, but have been put off by the recent terrible Amazon reviews

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Giles-and-Posner-Peanut-Butter/dp/B002USYFCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1267361663&sr=8-1

    Probably only worth a 5iver.

Get a magic bullet, £27 quid odd on ebay (postage a tenner but it is heavy) has a multitude of uses, i've even ground cinnamon bark in mine and that stuff is like set cement :)

Look at the youtube link i posted to see it in action making peanut butter.

Am rather gutted atm, been informed that a couple of weeks before a glucose tolerance test, carbs should not be restricted

    Oh dear :(
Googled this and seems it's true and would affect the result.

Also discovered that glucosamine that i'm taking in a high dose for my joints can cause insulin resistance

Also found out that peeps with IR are usually low in vit D, which i run of out a while

    I give up!!
Vitamin D is stored in Fat if that is any use to you:eek:

Have to say, it was odd having potatoes with my dinner, only had 2 tiddly ones, i'm not keen so my dinner was very much like last weeks, even the gravy was finely liquidised soup with a spoonful of normal gravy.

Have actually been on my crosstrainer, but only for 8 mins as my legs were killing me.
Going to build up, and hope to go on for 10 mins later :)

Vitamin D is fat soluble, that's why it's important to have something 'fatty' with any supplements to allow it to be absorbed properly. I think that if your body is needing it it won't get time to be 'stored' :rotfl: If it did, it would be of no use as 'stored' generally means inaccessible. Vitamin D is used in over 300 different types of cell in your body and is required for the proper function of them all. Having enough is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

I personally take 5000iu of the stuff a day. It's the 'new' recommended dose. I've been doing this for a good 12 months now and do feel a benefit. It's funny but I don't burn in the sun like I used to either :j Also my circulation is so improved I no longer get 'cold white finger' at all whereas I used to experience this every winter even if it didn't seem that cold really. My feet aren't as cold either. Used to have to warm em up in hot water before bed as they were often like blocks of ice :)

All round a good thing. Do a bit of research - I've just highlighted Dr Briffa here but he does give sources and it all seems to be backed up. Check it out yourself then reach your own decision. One thing that is true is that we do not get enough sun as we are all warned to keep out of it or slap on chemicals to stop sunburn - at the slightest break in the clouds.

One cannot get enough Vit D by food alone. We live in the Northern Hemisphere where sunlight is not so powerful. We do not expose ourselves to the sun often enough. We can't usually as it is either absent or we're working. We do not have vit D enriched food in the same way say Northern Americans have.

IMO it's a no brainer :rotfl: Sunlight is best but in lack of it I'm happy to chow down on a supplement.

Hi all! I've decided to let the lamb mince stay in the freezer for a bit til I work out what to do with it :)

Instead I made a beef mince curry. Made it in the big pan this time rather than the amazing frying pan. Didn't know when to stop :rotfl: You see, when I make the stoo in the big pan I get enough to do 5 full containers for lunches. When I do the curry in the amazing frying pan I get enough to make 5 lunches when spooned over sqashed cauli. The result is that I likely now have enough curry for 8 but dunno if the freezer will take em :rotfl: Can't have it without the cauli as it's also one of my hottest yet to date. Went a bit mad. Heyho!

Would have some for tonight but am cooking some belly pork int oven so won't have room there either :D

I'd rather have too much than not enough and in true MSE ways will just get on with it. Quite lucky really.

I'm sure I'll cope, it tastes brill!

Off to boil the cauli! Luck would have it I have an extra third of a bag where I'd normally just use the one. Funny how things work out. :)

Wish we had some kinda futuristic email where I could send samples for anyone who wanted any, you could provide your own cauli n containers and it would be ace!

Big love for putting up with ramblings :j

Guess who would be first to sign up? :D In fact, I'd happily pay you to just send me the whole meal instead of a sample. :rotfl:

Another one for the 5000iu dose btw. ;) Ted has a lot to answer for. :rotfl:
