Well, fasting it was 6.9 at the lab, i bought a monitor to keep a check on it and at home it's 7.2 - 7.3 first thing, but after food is only 8.3, i assume thats because im lcing, but why would it be so high first thing if i'm not having sugars??
Your thoughts are welcome as im just getting into it.

Oh and why do you say not normal yet?
Do you expect them to come down due to lc? have you experienced this before?
I did read tho that they take a couple of months to stabilise.

mine this morning was 6.4 but often it is 7 or higher and like you after a meal its anywhere between 6.6 and 8.6. ( before lcarbing i had some sugars over 11 ) In the bernstein book he describes a dawn phenomena where morning blood sugar is higher than it was the previous night even if you havent had anything to eat or drink. one rule of thought is that the blood sugar drops in the night and therefore adrenaline kicks in to raise it ( sort of an automatic safety mechanism ) and so its higher first thing.

I have read somewhere that fasting blood sugar can reduce by 50% with losing weight and as I have another 4 stone to lose I am hoping it will come down to normal range as I drop the weight

lcarbing definitely helps to reduce the wild BS swings I was having

Quick question - what do you all drink? Please don't say water, i drink alot of water anyway but all day, everyday sounds a bit boring.

I can't stomach tap water, I can only drink the bottled fizzy stuff. I have several cups of tea in the morning, fizzy water on and off throughout the day and diet coke at night. I'm such a rebel. :rotfl:

  • I drink hot water with either lemon or lime. Make sure the kettle boils and pour it over a slice of fruit. Surprisingly tasty.

green tea, water and at the moment redbush tea (rooibos) in the evening instead of red wine.;)

Well I was here earlier but no-one else was so I went away again. :D

I think my scales are broken. No, really. :rotfl:They've forgotten how to move, they've been the same all week and they better move before Sunday or I'll be evicting them.....through the window! Apart from my peanut butter episode, I've been really good AND I've been on the go a lot with DIY stuff so I would have thought I'd have lost this week out of any, just because of the increased activity. confused0024.gif

mazzers......headache today? Spot anyone worth cosying up to? :D

Pouring rain here too sweet, grey skies, waterlogged garden etc etc. I'm donating a large double wardrobe to our local charity place and they're supposed to come and pick it up today so I hope the weather doesn't stop them, the thing is blocking my hall and I need to sook my belly in to get past. :rotfl:

Off for breakkie now, see you all later.

I drink water, which is boring, decaf coffee with splenda and cream, which is delish and rounds off an evening meal beautifully, sometimes a decaf cappucino with soya milk at work, tea with lactofree milk, which tastes just like ordinary milk but has many fewer carbs. Oh, and a vat of red wine at the weekend, hence my monstrously slow weight loss.

I drink coffee in the morning, and tea and water throughout the day, with channel island milk coz you need less as its sooo thick and creamy :) (no, not in my water :p)
Also partial to the odd diet kick ( tesco red bull equivalent ) like now as i'm soo thirsty :D

No headache tho alias, no men either but i'm out tonight so you may be needing a new hat yet ;)

Had a lovely time and altho i've only lost 10lb its nice to be so un-bloated :T

Last time i did lc my scales stopped moving but i kept getting slimmer, went down two top sizes, my bottom half lost less as its smaller anyway and i seemed to even out size wise.

I read that its coz your now empty fat cells fill with water and dont empty for a few months, so you are losing weight but retaining some water. All good :)

Ooh, are falafels low carb? I'd have thought all the chickpeas would have made them a no no. Have you got a recipe to share?
