I don't find it very easy to cook with tbh, like I said, I've been cooking it in with the cauli & every time I drain the cauli/spinach, some of the spinach sneaks out into the sink even though I only leave a teeny tiny gap between the pan & the lid!!
There's a lot of them balls in the bag as well, probably last me months!! :rotfl:
Get them out in time to cook then
It doesnt need boiling, just warming through really, is lovely squeezed and fried in butter then straight onto plate so none lost down plughole
I have three balls at a time.0 -

Hmm, maybe half swede half bns as swede only 4.4 per 100g and bns double that.
Or turnip, only 2g in that.
Sorry, but I wouldn't touch swede even using someone else via mind control. :rotfl: I do go for the old turnip big style, mind. Tis v tasty and not at all 'swedey' (which would be awful)sweetserendipity wrote: »Aaargh, defrost in micro, I don't have a micro!!

Sayin nowt!
£30 basic micro on Tesco website, about £75-80 for combi. Mines a basic manual one, I prefer them as there's nowt to learn and it's hard to make mistakes. It's 850 watt, I generally cook on lesser wattage for longer, better results. Go on, get one. Join the 20th Century!:rotfl:
If you do get one spend a couple of necessary hours checking your cups n plates etc. Fill em with water and put on for a minit on full power. If the item is hotter than the water, it's not suitable for microwave cooking. Trust me, I was heating up a soup 1 day and tried to take it out after the 1.5 mins for a stir. I burnt my fingers but the soup was still only mildly warm.
Most things are quite fine, it's worth finding the one's that aren't if you have any cos if they surprise you or your peeps with a burning you'll wish you had.

Just a thought, the peanut butter made just from peanuts will have more carbs than the ones with added oils as the oils have no carbs.
I understand that this is the low-carb diet thread (although I consider it to be more of a general healthy eating thread), but for me I prefer not to have the extra saturated fat contained in the added oils, and as mentioned in a previous post there's also the 'wildlife concerns' for those of us with an environmental conscience.
Incidentally the Meridian stuff contains less carbs than the stuff I was previously buying, so for me it's an improvement ALL round :TInstigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
Morning!
No weight change to report sadly, scales seem stuck just now but I suppose that's better than going up the way, lol.
Sat here refreshing the local radio website for reports of school closures again in case daughter is off another day. It's pretty sleety today rather than snow so I suspect she'll be in.
Going to have omelette for brunch and the rest of mazzer's curry for dinner with a couple of crispbreads & cheese thrown in some point during the day for good measure.
I'm thinking I need to haul my step and my fitness dvds out soon, I'll need a scythe to cut through the cobwebs that cover their last resting place. :rotfl:
I'm half toying with the idea of having a 'sod it' moment and booking me and OH a few days away somewhere hot during the Summer, we'll be technically childless for a short while and it seems like a wasted opportunity. We can't afford it really and there's loads of reasons why we shouldn't but we really need away from the stress and all of life's 'stuff' iyswim.
Anyway, if I do, I'll need to lose a whack more weight and tone up the things in my body I laughingly call muscles.I have until July, how much do you think I can drop? :rotfl:

Wow, £30 for the basic one, that's even cheaper than the one I saw in the Co-op & I thought that was dirt cheap!! I think it's the combi one I want, if it works out cheaper to heat up a solitary pasty in a combi micro rather than sticking the big oven on, I'm guessing it will be.
Ta for the safety info as well, wise words!!
Btw, have you checked your 'looking after cactoids' thread lately?!Morning! No weight change to report sadly, scales seem stuck just now but I suppose that's better than going up the way, lol.
I put a lb on overnight, not that I'm checking the scales every day or anything ...

If you think it will help your relationship with your OH & your state of mind, then do it. If you plan/book ahead (& use MSE) I'm sure you can pick up a reasonably priced break, it'll do you the world of good
After the initial big weight loss, I think you could lose at least a couple of lbs a week, maybe more, so you're looking at a minimum of a couple of stone?? If you're exercising & toning up as well that will make a huge difference to how you look & feel.
Are you able to get out & do a brisk walk every day?? 30 minutes is all you need & it does make a big difference. My bum & legs definitely toned up when I was doing it & all that fresh air is great for your complexion (especially if it's blowing a gale & hailstoning/sleeting!! :rotfl:)
Go on, you know you want to!! :j
Morning peeps,
Tis a lovely sunny morning here with blue skies (if you don't look towards ICI & the mothballed Corus that is!! :rotfl:) Hopefully I'll get out for a quick walk.
Menu for today:
B - a rather large lump of pork & a fried egg (the pork is lovely, not dry at all)
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, BNS soup (if I have time to finish making it this morning)
D - more lumps of pork with cauli mash, green beans & a creamy mushroom sauce
Happy low-carb days :wave:0 -
