• Howdy all :hello:

Mercy, the BNS has got big seeds in & stringy pith but easy enough to scoop it all out with a spoon.
Respect to you for doing all that cooking btw, I need to start doing that again.

Menu for today:
B - 6 piggies in blankets :o (DD2 didn't want any today)
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, soup
D - roast chick, cauli mash, green beans, cheesy mushroom sauce

Had 2 glasses of red wine last night & some S&V peanuts.

I finally know who 'Herman' is on alias' sig - for anyone who doesn't know, he's a Mortgage Pig!! There's a thread about him on the MFW board. :D

Hope everyone having a lovely Sunday

Hello Every One of you Gorgeous people!

Food today
B - 300ml glass of tom juice
L - 2x crackers with pate and chicken drummers
D - will be cabbage and some gammon

Felt a bit bad about the tom juice til I did a little tot up and found that today will have <30g carb easily so no real worries there :)

Had a nice day, did a bit of tidying, watched a couple o Dr Who's I'd somehow missed and listened to GQT memorial show for John Cushnie.;):D What a guy!

Called in Asda and got whoopsed Irish lean beef mince cheap and pork shoulder on half price :j So if I've got it right I won't need to shop at all next week til Friday. :T May pop to Lidl for olive oil and washing liquid but DON'T HAVE TO!

Feel organised. Now I've cracked that for this week I can indulge in a set of books I'm rereading. Only borrowed em before but now have a full set thanks to Amazon Marketplace :rotfl:5 books of Robert Rankin's Brentford Trilogy. Great!

Big love to all, have a great Sunday!

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)
• Just remembered that I used to take Milk Thistle to help with cravings. Available in Holland & Barrett in capsule or liquid form. I know that many people needed it last week when they restarted LCing but might help some.

When I make soup I buy offcuts of bacon from either Lidl or Asda. It is usually sold as cooking bacon. Usually fry it in the bottom of soup pot and then add ingredients. You can also do the same with mince of any variety to give other types.

Tried to buy fresh cauliflower yesterday and the guy in Lidls told me that they were having trouble getting it and in Asda a tiny cauliflower was £1.28 so bought frozen stuff but sure it will go up in price soon. Sadly don't have enought room in freezer to stockpile it.
• Running out of cauliflower is on a par with running out of crispbreads for me - my lcing would collapse as these are my staple foods!!

I was telling my DD today the difference with this and other diets is that you get some tasty foods to eat like cauliflower cheese, fish pies and curry all using CAULIFLOWER. Think I need to clear out the freezer and stockpile it so that I keep losing the weight.

Up late as i've now swapped my Mon shift for a Fri one ;)

Am thinking i had better get some cauli for the freezer too.
Yesterday i had my curried chicken over frozen green beans ( yes, they were cooked  ) was very nice too so i may stock up on them also.

Not such a good day as i've had two roast potatoes and a few vodkas and orange juice, a rare treat these days is alcohol.

Time for bed XX

Finally got round to making the chocolate buns after I sent OH to buy some chocolate (at first couldn't find my stash - too well hidden! then found didn't have enough).

Used Lindt 85% and 4tbsp Erythritol instead of 2 tbsp splenda.

They were pretty good - a bit dry maybe (I may have left them too long - only did them 12 minutes but I think my fan oven is a bit ferocious).
Plus they needed a bit more sweetener I think. Can anyone tell me what the volume equivalent for splenda is - ie how much sugar does 2tbsp splenda replace? This should give me a good guide as to how much Erythritol I should be using.

But that didn't stop me eating two with cream for pudding! and OH scoffed two so they must be pretty OK;)

Thanks so much for the recipe. More experimentation to come.

• Morning all :hello:

Gawd, I hate Mondays

HanSpan, 2 level tablespoons of Splenda is equivalent to 1oz of sugar, if that helps.

Methinks there's going to be some panic-buying of the cauliflower variety today!! :rotfl: I bought 2 packets of frozen the other day, but, as Always said, this low-carb WOE seems to revolve around the stuff!! Well, it does for me anyway, so 'no way Jose' do I want to run out (or pay over the odds because of the weather )!!

I've lost another 2lbs so am only 3lbs away from my pre-Christmas weight. Quite happy with that.

Menu for today:
B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage, soup
D - Daisy's chicken pie with green beans

Have reduced my soup intake to 3 ladlefuls a day so that it lasts longer & I think next time I make it I'll reduce it to 2 ladlefuls a day. This time I put each portion into tubs & froze 2 & chilled the rest, it's a lot easier for me this way.

Anyway, busy day ahead, have a good day peeps

Hello all, sounds like some good positive mental attitudes out there atm, v good!

I managed a low carb weekend (was cooking DS's birthday cake which is always a worry as I'm a devil for piccking at the crust to 'tidy' it up. Found my self with one buit in my mouth, picked up the rest and threw it outside for the birds. So no damage done there). Then took DS skating on sunday at somerset house, followed by Pizza Express (melanzama parmigiana for me, gorgeous). Then did Yoga in the evening with DH, and had bacon, brussels and brie for supper. SO quite an active day.

TOday:
B: greek yog, strawbs and blueberries (small amount), walnuts and flaked almonds
L: LC quiche with mushrooms, leeks and chorizo. Salad with asparagus
D: Probably chicken curry with cauliflower rice.
