Hi everyone - today I've had bacon and eggs, and later its mashed cauli/cheese and yoghurt. I must have been really hungry this morning as I gulped down the bacon and eggs so quickly it didn't tough the sides -I MUST CHEW MY FOOD PROPERLY!

Eek!! Is that all you're having?!
If so, it's nowhere near enough food. You must be starving if that's all you're having??

I know I'm not eating enough during the day, but I do make up for it at dinnertime!!
  • Have decided that I really, really want/have to make Mercy's chocolate sponge thingies!!

Going to do a shopping list this weekend & buy the stuff needed on Monday.

Ok, I really should go & make dinner now, I'm obviously hungry!! :o:D
  • Hope it's a better day where you all are. It's cold and wet here.

Bought a Celeriac yesterday as I was sure someone posted that you could make low carbs snacks with it. Can't find the post but any suggestions gratefully received. Cost me just over a £1.00 in Lidl for a small one. Would be happy to buy if it tastes OK. Made some oven roasted parsnips a couple of weeks ago and burnt them. The non burnt bits tasted OK but not sure the carb count.

Successfully went to a Christmas fayre today and didn't eat anything bad in the tea room but wish it all was over a bit quicker. Worked out that I have many months of this before I get to a decent weight. Managed to get a copy of the Idiot proof diet and worked out that if you are a good cook this is all a lot easier so need some cookery lessons.

On a positive note, my book has arrived and i plan to have a good read after my shower, at first glance sounds a bit like food combining, so dont know if it'll be any good or me

    Hello!

Work went surprisingly fast today, mainly because we got a lot done :) Mate text to cancel afternoon's drinking so had a few hours dozing on the couch, well I did get up at 4.30 this morn. Had 2 cold calls about newspaper subscriptions and they woke me up. Wasn't very nice to the callers but just about retained my politeness :rotfl:

sweets - DO make the choc sponge things, I found that for a taster before they've cooled it's best from a paper case :) Silicone ones are good if the sponge gets to stand. Also they get a bit 'heavier' and more chocolatey after 2 days, so make lots :rotfl: The darkness of the choc taste makes them really satisfying and I've not had the urge to eat more than 2 at any time. :j

    Today's food
B - took sausies and cheese to work, a bit more than usual as such an early start
L - A 6 pack of mini scotch eggs and coleslaw, not strictly low carb but was really feeling the head tiredness of concentrating so much and was in no mood to cook
D - will be chicken curry on cauli, making enough for 2 meals so will have one for the freezer.

I've had a few scotch eggs recently and I'm swearing off them as they seem to give me wind :rotfl: They are not low carb but I'd grabbed them at asda as I didn't have much time to cook last week.

Will be more organised this time as I've got a pack of chicken legs defrosting for cooking tomorrow, and already have all the makings of a bacon broth for lunches. Will likely spend tomorrow cooking :j Can't wait!

looks like 4 hrs sleeping in the afternoon causes time lag :)

Best thing I did today - found an old double duvet int cupboard and have transformed my computer chair!
Am v happy and recommend it to all of us who haven't got a laptop :)

It's lovely so will soon be festooned with cats :rotfl: I've not left it yet but Newt is2 43 already investigating it, if typinhg is worse than normal, tht's cat interference - honest!

Bet you're already sleeping, but still wish you sweet dreams!

    Nite nite

  • Hi there.

I am on week 5 LC'ing . I did it a few years ago and lost lots of weight , went down about 4 trouser sizes, stayed like that for a year , and then went back to where I was originally.

Had a moment of clarity 5 weeks ago , and have gone back down a size in that time, I dont weigh because I find the minor fluctuations can be off putting.

The main thing I am trying to do this time around is do it in a more healthy way than last time and keep my meat intake to mainly chicken, because of this I only really do one breakfast : 2 oven cooked quorn sausages and 2 eggs scrambled in the microwave and a tomato :D , and occasionally a mushroom fritata . Main meals are stir fries or Chicken cauli mash and green bean affairs.

Morning - have been breakfasted already and now need to crack on and do some 'boring' work (my expenses for October and November!). Am resisting the shops as there is nothing I need - loads that I want but it's just plain greed. Seem to have moved my need to feed to a need to buy and it just won't do! Mind you I did pick up a bargain on the John Lewis price match on Friday so I 'm not that good at resisting.

Lunch will be chicken and salad (piles of it as I'm away Monday and Tuesday) and evening meal will probably have to be the same. Need to eat the cauli too as it's stinking the fridge out.

Weight shifting slowly but as I've been really strict this last week I've felt the benefits. I've decided that I JUST CAN'T have anything in the house which is not allowed as I will eat it all at once. So, to maintain my descent into a trim body I need to 'keep my dukes up' and fight on. For something so surprisingly easy to go I make it difficult for myself! :o

No poison will enter my house or my body unless it's in a bottle and comes from grapes! And even then only when I'm staying with my friends, like Monday night, as it's either being miserable in an hotel or being with them and having a glass of wine

Have a good Sunday folks. My Saturday was blessed by Scotland beating Australia :j:j though I did receive a number of bitter texts from my Aussie nephews!! :j:j:rotfl:
  • Morning everyone :hello:

    I do like a Sunday morning lie-in :D

Always, I haven't used celeriac, think it has mixed reviews on this thread though, bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it!!
Seem to remember peeps using it for celeriac wedges, cooked like potato wedges iyswim?? Also celeriac mash??

Mazzers, I know what you mean about 'holiday mode', that's usually when I go off the rails. Can't wait for Christmas!!

Mercy, I'm a bit worried about making the chocolate sponges, just in case I can't stop at one or two!! :o I'll let you know how I get on.

Dr DD, well done on losing a trouser size in 5 weeks, that's good going!! :D

Gers, what do you intend using the cauli rice for?? I'm thinking of buying myself a ricer but not sure what I'd use it for?? :o

    My menu for today:
    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
    L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
D - roast chick with cauli mash & cheesy leeks

Had 2 more crispbreads for supper last night & four glasses of wine, hence the lie-in this morning!! :o

Hope everyone has a good day

Hi all - today I'm having yoghurt, roast chicken & veg, and mashed cauli/cheese. I had a glass of cider yesterday and I'm really annoyed with myself. Serendipity - I do get really hungry and that's why I haven't been able to cut out the Lidl Greek yoghurt yet. It helps stop my sweet cravings and fills me up. I'm trying to find something else to replace it with, but I haven't had time to read through the whole of this thread yet (for ideas) so I can do a proper daily menu.
