Breakfast today was a little Lidl Greek yoghurt, blackberries and pecans, and a small slice of Mercy's bakewell tart, which I made last night. It's a little eggy for me but still v nice. Wonder what would happen if you dropped an egg white and added more ground almonds?
Lunch was a cheese and onion dip with salad. And just had a couple of brazil niuts. WE're off to the pub at lunchtime so will stick to a small glass of red, and then this evening it will be sausage casserole left over from yesterday, and, if I'm honest, probably lots more bakewell tart! But at least I'm sort of on the wagon.

    Hi Everyone :D

I wondered if I could join in with you all from time to time? I have been TRYING to change to a low carb life style for the last 8 weeks or so. Started off really well and have lost 18lbs so far :jHowever last weekend was my mums birthday and I decided to give in to the CAKE:eek:!! And from then on I couldn't stop.can't seem to stick to it. I am hoping if no-one minds from time to time I will post how things are going so that I can keep myself in check and have been reading all your stories and you are my inspiration (no I'm not creeping!!;) )

Anyway does anyone have any tips that help motivate them? all help is gratefully received! x

Welcome sticky! Try hitting the recipe list on page 1. There are lots of cakes in a low carb stylee on there. That's my fault (partly) as I went through a 'need for cake' phase and made and ate quite a lot of them :D Please post as often as you like, always good to have more people info as it helps us all.

I think you're great Mazzers. I've fallen off the wagon for weeks at a time but instead of carrying on trying & posting on here I just creep away & hide. Not you, you just keep on trying & posting & helping everyone else. So :T Mazzers.
    Have a good day.

    Seconded! Yay mazzers! :j

Gers - your strawberry dessert is on the list for all!
zero - thanks for the arrowroot tip, will have to try that out :D

Linni - well done! Glad it's working for you! This food is so satisfying if eaten properly!

mazz - you have the same birthday as my lovely sista! No wonder I like you :D

sweets - I'll be restocking the freezer again this Sunday, makes such a difference when it's all done for a few meals, I need to get 5 out of a stew I'm planning to tide me over for next weeks lunches. It's gotta be a good one :D

    Big love all!

This is a copy of Shykins' post from a while ago

ok lowcarb baileys recipe as requested
    10 fl oz double cream
    190ml whisky
    3/4 tspn coffee granules
    1/2 tspn vanilla essence
3/4 tspn cocoa (the proper sugar free stuff
    1/2 almond essence
6tbspn splenda (sounds way too much to me, i use da vinci caramel to taste)

mix cocoa, coffee, sweetener in enough whisky to make a paste, warm cream, add rest of stuff and blend into the paste, bottle, let cool and refridgerate... will keep a week assuming it lasts that long lol

I tried this and must say
Do not use that much splenda!
It tasted awful! I don't have that much tolerance for artificial sweeteners unless their cooked so this just made my tongue feel like it was swelling up  It probably wasn't :rotfl: Just felt like that so I had to throw it all away :(

If I was ever to do this again I would make up with only half the coffee no splenda and see how that tasted before doing other things to it. Tasting as I went.

If anyone gets a good version, please post :D

Evening all :) was having a great week until about half a hour ago when i had a lil cheat and it wasn't with a slice of bread, chocolate or crisp  it was with a small bowl of rice. I couldnt resist but that doesnt mean ive fallen off, o no im still trying :) i dont think it will hurt me too much plus im not weighing myself for another 2 weeks so i dont think a small bowl of white rice will sabotage what results i might have right? (am i just trying to convince myself i wasnt that bad? lol)
  • Good evening everyone :D

Well today I have offically lost sight of the WAGON and have no idea how I am going to claw my way back. I have been on the scales also today and although I haven't put on any weight, I haven't lost either  (no suprise may have something to do with ummm the C word :o)

I am going through the 'but why can't I have 10 peices of chocolate all in one go stage' and don't really know why. You would have thought that after almost 9 weeks in I would have gotton over that by now would'nt you?

Tomorrow is another day though, and I am going to treat it as such. I used to think it would'nt matter if I had a couple of 'treat days' and that's how I got so big in the first place!

    Tomorrows meals are as follows:-

B-Mozzy cheese with tomatoes and olive oil
L- Bacon, sausage, mushrooms and a few tomatoes
    T-HM Chicken soup (No carrot)

I am going to try a week back on phase 1. to see if that can help curb these cravings (though think it may take more than that!)

Thanks for the support Guys :D

    Morning!

Been out for a hair cut, yes really, and now back home ready for breakfast and my weekly fix of Time Team.

Am doing well and so will avoid the sugar fest of last weekend with chicken, salad, cheese, coleslaw and supplements making up my weeked feast. Got riced cauli in the fridge too (grief, it doesn't half pong though ) so need to get that eaten sharpish.

I hope everyone has a stress free and relaxing weekend doing whatever they feel happiest doing. :j

Hi everyone - today I've had bacon and eggs, and later its mashed cauli/cheese and yoghurt. I must have been really hungry this morning as I gulped down the bacon and eggs so quickly it didn't touch the sides -I MUST CHEW MY FOOD PROPERLY!

Morning everyone, Don't you just love the weekend?

    Today's menu;

Brunch (which I've just eaten) Bacon, mushroom, spinach & cheese omelette.
D Pork steak fried with red onion & mushroom with broccoli. (I had this last night & it was really good. Plenty of pork steak left so I'm having it again.

I did 1/2 an hour on my Wii Fit last night & another 1/2 an hour this morning. Me & DH will play some of the Wii Sport games this afternoon after we've finished our Saturday chores so plenty of exercise today. It's early days but I'm LOVING my Wii Fit.

    Good luck Sticky.
  • Hiya peeps :hello:

Just back from a very wet & windy walk so now sat in my PJs & I've just had a choca mocha hot chocolate :D Craving chocolate today so I'm hoping that will keep me from raiding the Quality Street that are lurking in the cupboard (for Christmas :o)!!

    B - 2 egg cheese & mushroom omelette
    L - 2 low-carb crispbreads with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
D - fajita chicken with cauli mash & cheesy leeks/mushrooms

F-f is sort of defrosted, I really couldn't be bothered today so just did a bodge job with a hot hairdryer!! :rotfl: I'm sure there's more ice lurking deep inside but it'll have to do for now, I got the big bit of ice that was causing the problem anyway. :o

The only problem now is lack of money to fill it up again!! Just used my Co-op vouchers to pay for the weekend shopping, roll on pay day!!

Feeling peckish so I'm off to have a cheddar babybel.

    Morning!
Got a lovely pud to share. I've gone off sweet things (and even more so since my sugar fest Sunday :o) but this may work for others as it's really tasty.

    Serves 4 - carbs per serving 1g

1 packet strawberry sugar free jelly
    150ml/¼pint boiling water
    300ml/½pint cold water
    4tbsp single cream
    1 egg white

    Method:
Add the jelly to the boiling water and stir until dissolved
Stir in the cold water and the cream
Whisk the egg white until stiff and fold in immediately
Pour into dish or individual dishes and chill until set
Mixture will separate into fluffy top layer and smooth one below.
    .
I thought I'd make some of this for afters tonight but unfortunately I've just realised I read 11/4 pints of boiling water instead of 1/4 pint & it's gone down the sink. :o I'll have another go tomorrow 'cos it sounds really nice.
