I love reading this thread, but I don't post because although I lost a few pounds in the beginning, I haven't lost anything since. I find that if I eat anything but the bare minimum I put on weight, but am so envious of people who lose lots, so keep posting.
  • Morning everyone :hello:

Don't feel too bad today (considering amount of wine drank last night ) although I'm tired as have been awake since 5.30am!! :(

Dobie, HM chips & steak sounds lush & a lovely send-off meal for your son!! Hope you doing ok, must be hard knowing that you're not going to see him for a while. We'll all keep you company on this thread.

linni, nice to see you again. Are you still low-carbing?? Just wondering why you have stalled?? Don't want you to be envious of peeps who are losing, want you to join in!! :D

    Menu for today
    B - 2 egg cheese omelette
L - 2 crackers with butter & cheese, garlic sausage
    D - 2 fish in butter sauce, cauli mash (?) & salad

Feel like I want to go back to sleep now but have things to do & people to see!! Hopefully get out for a walk at some point today, tis weird weather though, sunshine, fretty rain & a lovely rainbow!! :D
    See you all later
  • Morning, really struggling to stay on track:( I'm ok when i'm at home but i struggle when i'm out at uni all day. Need to take more food with me to keep me going throught he day as there are no low carb options in the cafe!
Any suggestions as to what i can take with me? I can't heat anything up so it has to be cold. Currently taking salad etc but now its turning wintery salad isnt really cutting it:o

Know how you feel, salad is about the only lc option in the canteen, it is a lovely big salad (passers by always fancy it) and only £1.50 but as it so cold its not cutting it for me now either, the only other option is an omelette and i eat enough eggs at home

Ive had my bacon and eggs, and unlike sweet, i am going back to bed!

Well, the obvious one for me is crackers & cheese!! :rotfl:
You may have noticed that I have them every day because I love, love, love 'em!! :D Quick to make up on a morning & just stick them in a small container to go. Wouldn't have more than 2 at a time though.
Could you also take some soup in a thermos?? Didn't you make some lush-sounding cauliflower cheese soup recently?? Don't know if you already blend it but I would try that.
Another thing would be ready-shelled boiled eggs??
Mercy's mexican fudge?? Can eat it cold although I prefer it hot.
    Ger's egg muffin thingies??

Hope that gives you some ideas.
    Enjoy Eddie Izzard tonight!! :D

Sweetserendipity, I am still low-carbing but I usually have approx 500g Lidl Greek yoghurt, (stops the sweet cravings) maybe 2 eggs and some cheese, meat/soya or omellete per day. I am trying to drink more water as I really don't drink enough. I have found this stops me putting on weight (thankfully) but not losing any more. If I am reallly hungry I will have a carrot or one those rice cakes and occasionally a piece of choc. I used to be so skinny but due to health problems I can't excercise properly. Am I still eating too much or should I cut down on the yoghurt? Other peeps losing weight just inspires me to try harder.

Eating too much??? sounds to me like your hardly eating at all, i am exercising a lot more than i used to and along with the diet i am doing pretty good, but i really do not know if it is the diet or the gym which is working the most (most likely a combination), but i am still eating a lot of food.

Normal lunch for me is chicken portions, boiled egg, sliced beef, sliced pork and a bowl of soup(depending what it is)

Dinner time is chicken or beef, with lots of vegetables and some more soup.

    Good luck with it linni

I think you will probably be surprised at the amount of carbs you are eating per day! You also dont sound like you are eating many low carb veg. I try and fill up on salad leaves/cucumber etc.

I am eating hardly anything, compared to what I would normally eat, but have had to cut right back to stop me putting on even more weight. Some of it is due to medication (+age) but I can't blame it all on that. I will try and eat more salad stuff and see if that helps, the trouble is salad stuff doesn't fill me up and I just end up eating more and more. I will start making more soups now it's getting colder but I need to look at what veg are low carb. Thanks all.
