    Had the beef mince curry for dins with cauli mash & it was yummy!! Used rogan josh instead of Mercy's madras as that's the only curry I had. Ok, I'm being tight, I just didn't want to buy another jar until that one had been used up!! :o
    Any curry paste works, just use what you got in or your fave if different. The basic package works :)
    Anyway, it was good. Didn't stick to the recipe (I never do :rolleyes:) & I shoved in loads of veg (parsnip, celery, mushrooms, yellow & green pepper, garlic, green beans & cabbage!!) Figured that I would eat some veg with the curry anyway, so just added it whilst it was cooking. Everything was divided into two as I used half the veg in the chilli so not too carby.

    So I have 3 portions of curry & 4 portions of chilli to go in the freezer :D If I can find room that is :rolleyes:
    Mercy, how many portions do you get from the mince?? Think I used the same size pack as you but wondered if I was being greedy (again) with portion sizes. Didn't seem that much when I was eating it tonight.
    I use 500g of mince and add a bit of veg/seeds etc. I get about 4/5 portions depending on how much veg went in, but I also use crushed cauli for the base (instead of rice) and add the curry on top for my lunches. This makes for a nice lunch (750-800ml container ful)

    Just really glad you enjoyed it! I do regularly and if we use mince in chilli why not in curry? As with all these 1 pan meals type things we can adjust the sauce and the heat to make things go further and make it better every time! And put lovely meals just a step away :rotfl:

    This is about it :)

    It's an old Lancashire dish apparently and basically just boiled black peas :rotfl: But no salt!

    They are served in a cup and you add salt and vingar. The vinegar makes em 'go all big' and gently expand :rotfl:

    The peas are all over our supermarkets int North at tho mo, You buy em by the pound with a warning 'may contain small stones' !!!:rotfl: Obviously, we check for stones before cooking :D Very Bonfire night fare, hot cup of peas, spluttering fire cos of the rain, bit of cardboard to sit on so your bum dun't get wet (what with the rain) Most wonderful pic I'm painting there :rotfl: Bu it is fun :) And the peas make it just that bit better :rotfl:

    :rotfl: Still dont know what they're like. Never seen a black pea!

    Dont fancy minced beef in a curry but might give it a go seeing as Sweet liked it too ;)

    I have been soo busy, even my middle boy just said 'mum, your're in the zone today' he meant the cleaning zone, everything has been either beeswaxed, shampooed, hoovered or washed, just the dishes now, might leave them til the morning tho :rolleyes:

    They're v similar to a normal pea but they go v dark - almost black in fact - when cooked. Taste less sweet than regular green peas and more tasty in general. Are very hearty and the deliciousness is welcome :rotfl:

    Oh, so my word wern't enough, eh? :D I'd be the same if I didn't know it was yum.

    * Mashed cauli
    * Cheesy leeks
    * Watercress sauce to go with salmon - can get it ready-made (chilled) in M&S & it's lush
    * garlic mushrooms
    * Mashed cauli/cooked cabbage mixed to make a 'colcannon' and/or fried to make 'bubble & squeak'
    * HM ratatouille (courgette/mushrooms/leek/green beans/garlic etc)

    Will try & think of some more & hopefully other peeps will offer suggestions. :D
