Having posted a few I realise most of the rest I have are already up there in some form. So I've sifted through my printed off notes and am hoping for some help with my less than successful trials:
Microwave flax bread.
I've tried all manner of combinations with flax/almond, more or less egg/butter and more or less baking powder and seem to end up with either - weird, holey, unappealing omelette with flax, or savory cake. As I said in my previous post I'm loath to experiment too much in the oven (and I'm lazy and impatient) so has anyone had any success with something bread like in the microwave?
It's not bread but this
Flax cracker type thing
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...postcount=1321
Made a nice firm cracker for cream cheese, pate n stuff. Q tasty.
Bakewell Tart
I followed the recipe on the links page but it turned out undercooked and rather flat. Mercy your notes say you forgot to reduce the temp but I can't see in the instructions where to reduce (mind you if I did it would probably be even more underdone unless its meant to start higher?)
any help greatly appreciated as OH LOVES bakewell tart and this might keep him off the sugary stuff.
It's very important to get the whites really stiff as this is the only air in the mix, don't mix all together 'well' as this knocks out a lot of air, just fold. It must be put together quickly and straight in the oven, so do base and add jam before sorting the final topping blend.
What I meant was I didn't adjust the oven temp down for mine being a fan job. Maybe just use the temp suggested if you have a fan? Also, make sure the base is cooked properly first. Hope this helps, I've not had a bad one yet, although a larger version I made in flan pot rather than tin was a little damper than ideal.
Protein shakes
Ewww. Is it just me? I've again tried various combinations and they all made me gag.
My latest was 3tbsp Protein Isolate, 3tbsp double cream, 10ml choc Davinci, 5ml cocoa and 200ml milk. God it was disgusting and at that point I just gave up. Anybody got something that's actually nice and not reminiscent of babay sick?
Not tried these, quite like getting my protein from MEAT! Eggs and cheese
Mystery:
I've found a post-it note with the following;
1/3 cup almonds ground
1tbsp butter
17.5oz pack cream cheese
1 egg
5 floz tub sour cream
1tbsp sweetener
makes 9 servings.
But no title or cooking instructions. What on earth is it? It was stuck to a recipe for baked eggs so clearly nothing to do with that. If I had the ingredients I could mix them and see what the consistency was but I'd still have no idea what to do with it!
Nice to see all your posts, many now reside in the list and, whilst comfortable, could always do with more company :rotfl:

For anyone new-ish here, dont forget about this great site.
Take a look at the oopsie panini..
http://cleochatra.blogspot.com/2008/02/continuation-on-theme-cauliflower-as.htmlJust look at this oopsie waffle from that site
WOW! No wonder you've ordered a waffle iron :rotfl:
My Ooopsies tend to be a little flat and oddly roundish
That said I ain' tried em for a bit so may well have another go. Cleochatra's website is noted under oopsies on the recipe list. (plug, plug, plug :rotfl:)
I want my oopsies to look like these, will be swotting up soonest!
Cheers!

Hiya!
I've got a quiche recipe to replace the one 'lost' and will post tomorrow or day after. Sorry can't do sooner but busy tomorrow so will av to see how it goes.
Pizza ain't icing! Have you tried the cauliflower pizza base? I've not but have heard great things. It's on the listI understand the main thing is too sqash all the water out the cauli. I've only not tried it cos I'm not a fan of pizza. Nearest I do is a flat omlette with meat, cheese n veg - lots - just enough egg to bind it all together. Then cooked in butter on stove top til bottom done, finished off under grill. I always add chillis, but I generally do :rotfl:
Will try HanSpans chilli choc. Sounds yum! I've always liked a mix of choc peanuts and bombay mix so am in the zone anyway

Ta - will definitely try. I'd passed that one by as I assumed it must be an oven thing. Must read more closely!

OK will try again. Still don't know why it was underdone then but maybe I didn't heat the oven enough. thursday job methiks - with mushed up frozen (home grown) rasperries for the base.

Metoo as a rule - I just thought I'd try for something different, easy and portable for when I just can't be bothered or I'm all egg and cheesed out.

Not convinced but maybe. I think I might just ditch the postit so I don't waste time worrying about it - I can get awfully side-tracked by trivia

I'm not really the cook in the house but I might get the OH to tell me what goes in dinner (I daren't hang round the kitchen as I'll get shouted at) and post some of our standbys.
