Well, was about 13, so i spose so, altho, i adopted two of them from the cats protection league and the other one (a tom) seems as fit as a fiddle.
He's wandering around looking for her, i think he knows someting that we dont, he doesn't live here anymore, an elderly neighbour 'stole' him, i mentioned it ages ago coz she was after Mitzi too.
We are not too upset as we didnt see a lot of her lately, as she was in and out of a lot of houses in the street, and seemed to want to be outside all the time

    Yes, you must!! :p

    Hello peeps :hello:

Been out & about today, early start to take DD2 to Dr. as she's had a horrible chesty cough for nearly 2 weeks now. Chest is clear  & just viral apparently so no antibiotics & could take 2-4 weeks to get better. Poor thing is coughing away (productively iyswim _pale_) so feel so sorry for her.

mazzers, sorry to hear your cat has gone missing :( I hope she turns up, I would hate not knowing what's happened to her.

Well I've got 2 packs of mince out of the freezer (taking forever to defrost cos it's so flipping cold in this house!!) & I intend making a chilli out of one pack & Mercy's curry out of the other & then freezing them in single portions to just get out & scoff as & when.
And now that I've said that, I've just had a horrible thought that I don't have enough freezable containers!!:rotfl: I'll have to have a hunt around :o So much for being organised.

    B - 2 egg cheese omelette (early)
L - 2 crackers with butter & cheese, garlic sausage (late & I was bl00dy starving but they hit the spot!!)
    D - to be decided??

Tis Bonfire Night so will see what everyone wants for dinner, usually do hotdogs for me & kids, but I couldn't eat one without a finger roll & loads of ketchup, so I'll have to have something else, maybe chilli or curry if it's made by then, plus that's one less portion to find a container for.

Hope everyone doing ok, wrap up warm if you are out doing fireworks tonight, tis freezing here!!

    Hi all!

Mazz - sorry to hear about your cat, maybe she's just moved out for a bit? Got my two locked in from sundown til sun up at mo, they're not happy about it but they'l just have to put up with it til Monday :)

    Been good foodwise.

Am getting food organised to take to sista's bonfire party Saturday, will go for roasted veg and cakes :)
Made the choc buns using milk choc for nephew as he's a bit fussy over food - unless it's cheese :) Also doing some with dark choc for all others (ME!) :)

I have tomorrow afternoon off for shopping and chores so can relax and cook on Saturday. I'm thinking of doing some garlic mushrooms too. Will be scouring shelves for interesting fungi :rotfl:

Sis always does lovely black peas so I will be indulging, but hopefully they'll be the only carb heavy stuff I partake of. (and maybe some wine and or cider)

Sounds like a warzone out there! Rain must have stopped temporarily.

    Big love to all!

    Forgot to add

Foods eaten this week so far
    Coconut oil n supplements
B - boiled egg, cheese and hot dog sausies in various combinations
L - Either hot n spicy pork n veg stew or curry on cauli
D - ham, cheese n salad, Hot roast pork n veg or omlette made with cheese, chillis and veg with mayo

The occasional dark choc bun for supper was involved too :D They are so rich that one is really enough :) and cream - although nice - really not necessary.

Never heard of black peas Mercy, what're they like??
  • Had the beef mince curry for dins with cauli mash & it was yummy!! Used rogan josh instead of Mercy's madras as that's the only curry I had. Ok, I'm being tight, I just didn't want to buy another jar until that one had been used up!! :o

Anyway, it was good. Didn't stick to the recipe (I never do ) & I shoved in loads of veg (parsnip, celery, mushrooms, yellow & green pepper, garlic, green beans & cabbage!!) Figured that I would eat some veg with the curry anyway, so just added it whilst it was cooking. Everything was divided into two as I used half the veg in the chilli so not too carby.

So I have 3 portions of curry & 4 portions of chilli to go in the freezer :D If I can find room that is
Mercy, how many portions do you get from the mince?? Think I used the same size pack as you but wondered if I was being greedy (again) with portion sizes. Didn't seem that much when I was eating it tonight.

    This is about it :)

It's an old Lancashire dish apparently and basically just boiled black peas :rotfl: But no salt!

They are served in a cup and you add salt and vingar. The vinegar makes em 'go all big' and gently expand :rotfl:

The peas are all over our supermarkets int North at tho mo, You buy em by the pound with a warning 'may contain small stones' !!!:rotfl: Obviously, we check for stones before cooking :D Very Bonfire night fare, hot cup of peas, spluttering fire cos of the rain, bit of cardboard to sit on so your bum dun't get wet (what with the rain) Most wonderful pic I'm painting there :rotfl: Bu it is fun :) And the peas make it just that bit better :rotfl:

  • I've never heard of black peas either, the way you cook them it sounds a bit like mushy peas??
Sounds like it'll be a windy night!! :rotfl:

I'm sat in the dark watching the council firework display - would have a good view if I chopped a few trees down!! Hubby & DD1 have gone to see it but I'm stuck in with poorly DD2 who is being extremely grumpy!!

Right, I'm off to watch Location, location, location to see how the other half live!! See you tomorrow.

Ps. I might have a glass of wine tonight as hubby is going out :D
