  • Have tried belly pork but tbh I didn't like it. My sister loves it, crackling & everything, but there again she likes pork scratchings as well whereas I think they just look like big gnarled toe-nails!! That's enough to put me off!! :rotfl:

Healthy Maganzineare currently running an article on Saturated fats.

In this month's issue of Healthy we look at whether saturated fat is really that bad for your health. We want to know what you think:

Recent studies have shown that saturated fat can actually be good for you - its reputation is undeserved.

Saturated fat is high in calories and cholesterol so can contribute to obesity and heart disease. We shouldn’t be encouraging people to eat more fat with the country’s current obesity problems.

I'm sure most of you here will be well aware of the benefits natural saturated fats provide and know the harmful effects of having too much omega 6.

If not perhaps you would enjoy watching this.
    BIG FAT LIES

There is a lot more about Fats on Stephan's Whole Health Source Blog

I would be pleased if those who understand the benefits of using the natural saturated fats our body's evolved to cope best with will add your vote to the first option to redress the current balance.
Scroll down the page and you will find the poll on the bottom left hand corner.

I thought I had draw attention to this poll earlier today but I can't find it now.(edit: it was in the other low carb (atkins) thread my mistake)

It should of course be obvious that for a low carbohydrate diet to work properly energy has to come from somewhere else and increases in protein and fat are important. Increasing protein intake leads to problems but increasing natural saturated fat intake doesn't. It's one of the reasons low carbers use Coconut Oil as that is more quickly and easily burnt as fuel.

It is therefore vitally important for low carber's to be made fully aware of the health benefits of Saturated fats and the lies that we have been told by those trying to promote margarines.

Well I've had an eventful day today. Nothing has gone according to plan and to top it all off...when I get home with son, daughter and daughter's friend......we're locked out. My car was in the garage getting work done and the key was taken off the main keyring. When I got it back, I never got round to putting the key back on the keyring and when we went out today, I lifted the car key and that was it.....no house key. Numpty!

Thankfully other son works close enough for me to drive there and get his key.

I'm having a cuppa and a 5 minute break before starting dinner as we're all starving. :D I also want dinner over early so I can get cleared up, get youngest to bed early (ier) and get peace! :rotfl:

Congrats jj. :T Other people's babies are lovely, it's just my own that bug me. :rotfl:

Mercy when you heading off? Tomorrow? Sat? Have a great time and sniff some choccy for me please. :D (See........trying to be good today ;) )

Ok Ive got 2 months to lose at least 2-3 stone. Makes my little pound today fade away like nothing. Daughter has phoned again and says they are getting married end of May    so now Ive got to pull out all the stops and lose fast. At least she gave me the news in stages.

Im wondering if it would be worthwhile doing Celebrity Slim for a couple of weeks, and surely I should lose something running around trying to organise a wedding in 2 months  I said maybe wait till after baby is born then get married.

Im just wondering whether to reach for the vodka or the biscuits
