    Hello!

Not been posting as been very busy at work and home.

I've settled out at 11 stone, despite being good. Saw Doc recently and he put it down to my contraceptive and my age

He may have a point about the injection but think the age ref was a botched attempt to make me feel better :)

I have been really bloated lately and feeling rough around 5pm each day. Think I could be having too much veg at lunchtime. So today and tomorrow going to try salad type stuff for lunch and dinner with meat, see if that helps.

Mazzers - I really identify with being good and seeing no benefit. I've mostly cut out nuts to see if that helped - no.

Upping the exercise, daisy and sweet you inspire me!

I never crave carbs anymore, kinda gone off food a bit. Still eating but not really enjoying it.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

    Morning ladies. :)

Going to try to be in a better mood today. So I will smile when I tell you .........I've put yet another pound on. That's now 3lbs in 3 days. I have no idea what's going on but I'm blaming the Atkins shakes.

OH is trying to be supportive and telling me not to worry about it as I've lost a fair bit but I think when you've been losing for weeks now, it's a bit harder to be nonchalant about putting weigh back on.

Anyway, I'm going to (try to :D ) not hang about the pc all day, I've got stuff I've been putting off doing and I really need to get started. Have a good day all. *waves*

    Hiya

What's in the Atkins shakes? I know folk have had probs with stalling when using the bars. Could it be polyols? I don't trust em myself, too synthetic. Maybe they're too good at mimicking sugar etc that even the body believes em?

I have no idea Mercy.......I'm just easily swayed by the 'strawberry' and 'chocolate' in the name. :o

Supposed to be 1.5 net carbs per carton.

Edit: Oh I'm a bit embarrassed now.....what I've been calling Atkins shakes....aren't really. :o They're Tesco shakes. More of > :o Anyway, just checked the carton and no mention of polyols

Thats like me mercy, at the mo i can take or leave food, would just as well eat cardboard, (wonder if its LC):rotfl:
The only thing i really want is toast for brekkie and as i have resisted for five weeks (and been making almost every day for son) i am fed up of not losing.
Can take or leave the buttered bread now, its just a bit of toast as i dont like a big breakfast.

Anyway, gonna try and stay away from the scales for a while as i am getting results in my clothes but would be nice to have it confirmed on the scales.
  • Good morning all :hello:

Tis lovely outside this morning so thinking of going on another bike ride, if my bum can take it that is!! :o If not, I'll just go for a longish walk. :D

mazzers/daisy - hope you're both feeling ok today - hopefully you've got things out of your system & can move on. Daisy get running & mazzers get your backside on that cross trainer as penance!! :rotfl: Anyway, as long as you enjoyed the tortillas & stella then it wasn't wasted!! :D We have all been there, some more than others.

Mercy, have you stopped flapping around like a kipper?! Or was it a haddock?! Hope you sort your bloatedness out, it's not a nice feeling is it, hopefully changing to salad at lunchtime will help matters.
Hope you enjoy your hols, including the swiss choc, bring us some back please!! :rotfl:

alias, if you've been eating/drinking a lot of those shakes then I wonder if they are to blame for your couple of lbs on?? They might be causing a bit of fluid retention?? I'm suffering with that at the moment (PMT symptom) & I still have about 10 days to go for totm!!
Anyway, keep smiling, it keeps the wrinkles at bay!! :D

mazzers, can you toast flax bread? I've never made it so don't know what the consistency is like?

Yep, step away from the scales!! Your loose clothes are a much better indication of weight loss!! :D
  • Forgot to post menu

    B - 2 chipolata sausages, 2 fried eggs & 2 pieces bacon (yep, I'm stuffed again!!)
L - salmon & spring onion mayo with salad & coleslaw
D - chicken with cheese, ham & mushroom topping (Tesco 2 for £5 - 0.7g carbs per half a pack & knowing me I'll eat the whole lot!! :o ) Will have with cheesy leeks.

That's quite a lot of food isn't it?! :rotfl: But it is all low-carb so that's alright!! :rotfl:

I think that is my prob, i'm not eating enough.. possibly.

As i said before, i used to eat loads last time i did it.

Wouldnt fancy toasted flax bread as it s a bit 'eggy' when warm.
    But thanks for the suggestion:beer:

Its not that i really mind missing out on toast.. its the fact that i am, but not benefitting from it IYKWIM.
Going out for the day today to keep me off this lappy

Mercy - thanks for the Mexican fudge recipie - lots and lots! Its wonderful - even OH loves it so I'll have to make double next time.
I made it Sunday and didn't spread the chillis out very evenly so yesterday's square was a bit bland whilst the day before I nearly blew my head off!
Used up all the cheddar in the house so need to buy more today then plan to make a whopping batch tomorrow.

Mazzers - the lasagne WOW. Another one OH helped me polish off - he was really impressed as he doesn't like courgettes all that much so had anticipated not liking it at all.

Has anyone tried cooking then freezing either of these? I've just bought an electricity monitor and the change in recording when the oven is turned on is horrifying! Our electicity usage is ridiculously high for just two people in a small house so we'll be batch cooking when we can for starters.

Have been low-ish carb for a good few years now - homeopath banned me from potatoes, sugar, rice, pasta, all bread but one brown bread sandwich a day, bananas and apricots. The plan was just to deal with my recurring...
    Boys look away now...
    thrush.
Lost about a stone an a half without trying and was quite happy at just under 10 stone but have crept back to 10 stone 5 and NOT HAPPY so will be joining you all in getting stricter.
I don't think discovering low carb chocolate sweets has helped at all so may have to give up or at least severely restrict them :(
