I have mopped everywhere that dunt have a carpet! (housework is exercise aparntli)

Only got 4 carpets, front room, back room stairs and my bedroom.

Everywhere else has been bleached and scoured to within an inch etc. Do not know how 1 person makes such a mess.

I have help from cats but it's not really that much (just 2 of them, 4 feet each but they're really small feet, really - even the big one) The occasional misplaced 'release' OLD cats have the odd problem (always, thankfully on hard surfaces) So it just must be me.

Am thinking of investing in a 'wipe your feet' mat for the back door, maybe that'll head my mess off at the pass?

Anyway. Done lots of cleaning - there's more I not mentioned. And the general house looks great!

Quite happy as am off to do only basic shopping tomorrow, have put aside £20 for potential frivolousness.

    Nite nite all

:rotfl: How did you grind the seeds, and whats your opinion of it??

one of my friends lent me their mini blender that does seeds!! its nice - a lot like homemade bread from a bread machine! I might use less oil next time though!
  • Morning all :hello:

Surely I'm not the first up?!

Been awake since just after 6am but stayed in bed reading the Sunday paper (I know tis Saturday ) & drinking coffee. Got up to make sausages because I'm hungry & the flipping things are still a bit frozen!! I can just about wait ...

B - 3 chipolata sausages & egg (poached, fried, omelette, scrambled??)
L - hmmmm, not sure, fancy Mercy's cheese & sesame crackers)
D - Chilli (again) but will have a smaller portion & have some cauli mash with it this time

Really enjoyed my red wine last night :D Had 3 glasses (half a bottle) & will have the rest tonight. Also the salt & vinegar peanuts were as lush as I remembered them to be!! :D

Tis wild & windy here today, got washing to do but in 2 minds whether to hang it outside as it might get blown away!! Lovely & sunny though, will go for a walk later & blow the cobwebs away. :D

Have a good weekend everyone, I'm off to check those sausages

Goodness me, where is everyone today??

Haven't seen much of marrow?? focus?? Come on, where are you hiding?! mazzers, are you still sleeping?? :p

Decided to make chilli with the mince, minus the kidney beans & chickpeas, as think hubby would quite like a chicken curry next week as I haven't made a curry for a while.

Bought myself a bottle of Merlot for the weekend & also some salt & vinegar peanuts - prepare for the puckered mouth!! :rotfl:

Have a great weekend everyone!! :j

    Hello all.

I've been to the land of nod most of this week. Started work properly (been off sick for nearly 2 years -yikes!) so I am sooooooo tired and pretty much just fall asleep when I get home. Zzzzz.
Been eating okish. Taking lunch to work (will be HM veggie soup on Monday, with fruit and nuts for snacks) and having the fruit/yoghurt/seeds combo for brekkie. Not so great for dinner -had salads and jacket potatoes (bad!) so hoping to be able to rustle up something low carb next week.
Too tired to read back through any more old posts, need another nap. Yaaaaawwn.

    Toodles. x

    Hi all!

Blowin a gale out there! :j Very invigorating. I love windy days if it's not raining as well, obviously :D Pleased that my new v cheap coat is quite warm but not overly so. Will be a good autumn and spring thing. Felt pretty good today until I got struck by nose issues. Keeps running and I think it might be a sniffle starting.

Got Mums Birthday to go to tomorrow so will get an early night with a bowl of broth and a large brandy.

    Food today
B - 10 mini hot dogs, halved and cooked in butter with 2 fried eggs and Brie melted over. All done in 1 pan and v delicious and filling.
    L - nothing, not hungry.
    D - bowl of broth

Will consume some brandy for medicinal reasons  I may well also have a square or two of REALLY dark chocolate.

Well, today has been one for battening down the hatches. Took my frivolous cash and went to B&M Bargains :rotfl:

Got the most amazing fur slipper boots! £2.99! They are really warm. There's no sole cushioning but the fur is inside and out. Got size 7-8 as am a 7. They feel like barely there, v light foot heaters. :T I bought black but they had a lot of cream ones too.
I firmly belive that if your feet are warm most of the rest of you is warm too. I will not have cold feet anymore! I recommend this state to all but those who hate their feet feeling soooo warm.

Also bought some leather gloves at about £3.99. They're warm and comfy with a decent cuff length so drafty spaces are avoided. :D

Spent the £7 oral B vouchers I was sent when I complained a battery had run out in my toothbrush much sooner than it should.

And in v MSE fashion my £20 frivolous money only came to £7! So I bought the Brandy. Still have £3 change

    Big love to all!

    Hello again
It's now time to sort out some tasty lc food for cooler times :rotfl:

I made this last weekend and weighed everything as I went. Worked out the carbs and calories and am pleased to announce that it scores well on all fronts - including tastiness!

I used a 4-5pint pan to make this.

    Ingredients
130g/ half a packet Rind on Streaky Bacon,
    340g Turkey Breast
240g /3 long thin ones Leeks, quite finely chopped
    200g / 3 decent sticks Chopped Celery
    260g / 1 Large Turnip, chopped
200g Sliced Carrot (chopped and bagged for 34p in asda)
10g / 3 at about 2.5 inches long Green Thin Chillis
    320g Cauliflower
    100g shredded savoy cabbage
    1 Veg oxo cube
    1 chicken oxo cube
    Black pepper, herbs, crushed garlic

    Method

The water need must be assessed throughout. Some veg give off a lot, some don't. Just monitor and add if required.

Put about 2inches boiling water in pan, dissolve oxo cubes, add garlic, herbs, full peppercorns and black pepper. Add chopped leeks, chillies (optional) and celery. Simmer for 10 mins. Add chopped meat, stir 10 mins, Add carrot and turnip, boil 5-10 mins, Add cauliflower. Simmer 10 mins, add shredded cabbage on top. replace lid for 5 mins. Stir cabbage into broth, simmer 5 mins. Switch off heat but leave pan on ring until cold, stirring occasionally.

I use this for lunches at work, and other times.
I got 5 stuffed full containers from this, others may want a little less.

if you get 5 meals, thats 8.13g carb / 206.7 kcal
    if you get 6 meals, thats 6.78 / 172.2

If anyone wants the breakdown, pm me your email and I'll pass it on.

What it mainly says to me is that good winter warmers have not vanished from our menu. We just don't need to rely on potatoes. Also, many variations on this theme will still be low carb. I only weighed to get an idea sorted, wouldn't normally, just use what will fit in pan :)

Will be making another using up oldish veg. Will use full pkt of bacon but no turkey. Doesn't make any diff to the figures.

I know carrot is SOOOO high in carbs etc, but in this recipe it's a tasty addition and worth it.

    Hope you try it
