And another sun rises in Low Carb World.

Vitamin D Mercy... yes, I bought some of the high dosage stuff that Ted wrote about (soft gel ones from USA) and take 1 per day, sometimes 2 if I remember. I also take a vitamin B complex which really energises and lifts the spirit right up into Pollyanna Land. As I now have dual citizenship of Low Carb World AND Pollyanna Land I'm a happy bunny indeed. Shades of Ken Dodd here

Heard last night that a male friend of mine with a weight problem (back home) who I was telling about Low Carb World had joined in with huge success. After a number of years going up the scale he's now so proud of going back down it again and really enjoys the food he's eating. :T

Today...well, just done 3 pieces of urgent work sitting here in my jim-jams. I work better in the early morning and by Flog It time I can usually be found horizontal on the sofa asleep. Not seen the end of Flog It for many a long day!!

Got a new computer chair to collect from JL, will leave the putting it together bit until Chief of Screwdrivers is back from his travels. I'm off to Glasgow today for the family weekend and then away for the majority of next week for work. Got some pepperamin (thanks), indulged in some of M&S small sticks of cheese and got a small cool bag ready to put them in.

    Keeeeeeeppppp lllllooooowwwwww caaaarrrbbbbiiinnnnggg
  • Am I the only one on here who doesn't take any vitamins or supplements? I am in the open air all summer on the boat and there are normally blue skies here during the winter too so I don't think I need to take vitamin D. Most of the B vitamins can be found in nuts seeds and dairy produce, so I think I'm okay there too. BTW, why are cream and yoghurt (full fat) recommended when milk isn't? Aren't they made from milk? (well, my home-made yoghurt is anyway!).
Gers, I love your post above. Can I also apply for dual membership? I made a new top yesterday (definitely Pollyanna Land) to wear tonight when I go to see .................. drum roll ............... GREEN DAY!!!!!! at Toulouse! Yay!

Good morning all, feelng really tired today icon9.gif

Think i might take some vitamin B complex!

    Gaye, i take supplements too.
Milk is sweeter than cream or yogurt so it must have natural sugars in it.
  • Good morning all :hello: Yippee, tis Friday!! :j

ok, so the above was all in my imagination but at least I won and I was right (as I always am when I have these discussions with people in my head :D ) but I feel a damn sight better now!!!!

Lol, I have those discussions as well!!

I'm off to Glasgow today for the family weekend

    Have a great time!! :D

I don't, but only because I'm too tight to buy them!!

BTW, why are cream and yoghurt (full fat) recommended when milk isn't?

Just had a look & skimmed milk is 4.9g carbs per 100ml, semi is 4.8g per 100ml & double cream (yum) is 1.5g per 100ml (or at least I think it said 1.5 as the writing was so small I could barely see it!! :o)

tonight when I go to see .................. drum roll ............... GREEN DAY!!!!!! at Toulouse! Yay!

    Have a great time!! :D
  • Bleurgh, just had to throw the stray cat out of the house as he was just starting to make those throwing up noises/movements!! _pale_

Anyway, after that drama, back to low-carb ...

    B - 2 egg cheese omelette
L - might do corned beef hash (again) as hubby has just opened another pack for his sandwiches
D - something with mince?? Mercy's curry??

Have never thought of making a curry with mince?! I always use chicken but I suppose there's no reason why I couldn't use mince. I was going to make a chilli tonight but now I'm not so sure!! Curry was on my shopping list for today anyway so might give it a whirl.

Anyway, I'd better get myself sorted, see you all later, have a good day all
  • Goodness me, where is everyone today??

Haven't seen much of marrow?? focus?? Come on, where are you hiding?! mazzers, are you still sleeping?? :p

Decided to make chilli with the mince, minus the kidney beans & chickpeas, as think hubby would quite like a chicken curry next week as I haven't made a curry for a while.

Bought myself a bottle of Merlot for the weekend & also some salt & vinegar peanuts - prepare for the puckered mouth!! :rotfl:

Have a great weekend everyone!! :j

Cor, you're right Sweet, it has been dead on here today.

I have indeed been sleeping, went straight back to bed after seeing youngest off to school, tried to get up but felt like i was drugged  realised though that its coz of heavy totm, also just had a nap while watching tv :o
In my defence, i must be tired or i wouldnt be able to sleep ;) twice!!

Had a bit of chocolate today with a cuppa, so not so good but stuck to lc otherwise.

Bought frozen cod in butter and cod in parsley sauce yesterday so that'll be a change to have with ribboned courgette or green beans.
Also got a huge salami from Lidl, they didnt have the offers that Mercy had though icon9.gif

Got a bit of heartburn after the chocolate so let that be a warning to me :p

Feel really tired and lazy today so i'm going to slob out on the sofa and flick the channels.. sometimes it's nice not to have a man about the house :D

Yep, You're the only one! Unless someone wants to get in here. Mind you, you are the only one getting that much sun on a regular basis :rotfl:
Milk is diluted so the goodness per 100ml int as good. You need the fat to offset the carbs. Think that milk is v good, I have goats version on occasion (don't do any other at all) It's especially good for hangover stomach :rotfl: Also, vit D is fat soluble so the less fat one has in their milk, the less vit D they can get that way.

The only other stuff to rival full fat goats milk in hangover cure is tomato juice. But that has carbs too. Still, if you want curing there's two relatively low carb ways to do it.
