I used one of my homegrown chillies, the pepper is for size comparison.

oooh mazzers - that looks really tasty!!!!

:rotfl: have had a little taste, is like proper pizza, will have half with a salad later.

Not sure of the carbs but the base has about 15g per whole pizza, and only has tomato paste, cheese, onion, pepper. mushroom and chorizo so all allowed icon7.gif

Might be worth making a few bases, cooking and freezing.
  • OMG, mazzers!! I want that pizza!! I really, really want it!!

Take back everything I said earlier  Well, if you make/eat something like that every day I'll take it back :p

Looks truly delicious & I'm soooooo jealous because I'm soooooooo hungry!! Just waiting for 2 pork medallions to cool down enough to scoff them. Would normally have eaten by now but been to see my Dad so things are a bit delayed.

Well done on the chilli growing as well!! I keep meaning to start growing things but never seem to get round to it. Good idea to make a chilli with it tomorrow. :D

Glad you are eating more, I really do think it will help, just make sure you eat well on work days, didn't you say once that the canteen is good?? So no excuses!! :p
  • Gers, loved your inspirational post :D

Particularly loved the bit about the engulfing fat!! I know exactly what you mean!! :o

Don't forget to mill your seeds unless you've bought them already milled. Otherwise they will pass straight through your digestive system untouched (like sweetcorn) and emerge at the other end whole. No goodness absorbed at all.

    Hope it tastes lovely!

Right, time for a stupid question but how do I mill the seeds?? could I pop them into a bag and bash them??

though thinking about it, I think I have a peppercorn mill in the cupboard that I keep meaning to refill... will have to have a gander!!!
also, would it be 2 cups of seeds then mill them or mill them then measure in cups?!?!

You'll really need some sort of electric grinder, magic bullet is ideal, when the bread recipe asked for oat flour, i just ground up some porridge oats in the bullet icon7.gif same with the nut flour etc, also, stays fresher until they're ground.

I suppose you should measure after its ground but it wont make much difference as they are tiny seeds anyway.

  • Hello everyone,
Well, I got back just over 2 weeks ago and it's been non-stop ever since. Went to see MIL last week in Provence. I hadn't seen her since last Xmas and I hadn't even told her I was losing weight, so imagine her surprise! She has had a stressful year with house moves etc and has gained all the weight I lost!(I wondered where it had gone!). Also my SIL who lives near there has put on weight but manages to hide it well, so of the three of us, for the first time in probably 15 years, I am now the slimmest! My MIL did say though that I had inspired her and she will now try to slim down (and she will, she has before, whereas I haven't since 1996!)
Lovely and sunny here, 26 degrees most days and blue skies. Hasn't rained for 4 1/2 months. Quite bizarrely though I have a cherry tomato plant growing between the flags in the courtyard. The first one is nearly ripe. Have to decide whether to share it with 'is nibs or gluttonously eat it all myself.
Moussaka in the oven. Must just go and see if it's browned yet.
Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.

Welcome back Gaye, how fab to be the slimmest icon7.gif

Am having a glass of wine, didn't drink much on holiday, rarely do oddly enough, can swig for Wales when i'm home, strange that

My bread is cooked so can look forward to toast of a morning now icon7.gif

Newcook, the magic bullets on ebay are great value as they are much cheaper than on qvc etc.
Have had mine for ages and use it all the time.
The boys make smoothies with it and the middle one makes cocktails in it.
Best gadget i ever bought and i've spent hundreds on useless crap so praise indeed.

Motivation is, in itself, a great motivator! Sound garbled but just feeling positive is making me feel great! And seeing the inroads I'm making in changing my life, my home and my attitude is fantastic for me. I was well on the way to becoming a recluse, only hindered by my natural outgoing and cheery nature :rotfl: but it was beginning to be overwhelmed. A new job role, a new eating regime and a new perspective have given me the much needed kick up the proverbial which was long needed.

I use the phrase 'how can I....?' to keep the positivity levels high. Again, don't mean to sound like Pollyanna but it works for me.

'How can I ensure that I live long enough and well enough to enjoy my grandchildren/parachuting/libido?' By losing the all engulfing fat which currently restricts my mobility (a bit), my energy levels (a bit more) and my confidence (a lot).

    Simples!

I know that others are struggling more! But keep those chins up - but have less of those chins which need keeping up.

I totally agree! As soon as you are in the zone - and anything can set us off - it's imperative to build on that and so it grows. You're an inspiration and a very welcome positive influence! :T
    Cheers hunni! :D

Mazz - the chorizo you like is currently 1/2 price in Lidl. Got some and am v impressed. Your chilli looks most tasty! I grew 6 chilli plants in 2 pots in my front window one year, didn't need curtains - in fact couldn't close them :rotfl: Ended up with a combined bush 3.5 feet wide and 3ft up into window area. Got lots of amazing chillies and so did everyone I knew :rotfl: Plan to do that again next year.

sweets - glad you feeling more positive after your lcing wobble! (just know what you'll do with that choice of word :rotfl:)
