  • Quick hello to everyone :hello:

mazzers, I'm wondering if Lesley has hit on the right combination too?? I'll join you in the Hmmmmmmmm department.

Btw, Lesley, that is some blow-out you have!! :rotfl:But better for just one day, than every day like some people I know

Are you still doing your exercises every day?? Think that must be making a difference too.

Anyway, hope everyone doing ok, see you again soon.

    Hi all!

Had a great night last but feel a bit rubbish right now :)

Apart from the cider and cheesy garlic bread last night I've been quite lc so far. Will however be having fish and peas later :)

Need to keep it together for a while as expecting visitors bearing gifts. Keep spraying the air freshener as am convinced it's not fresh but can't be sure as my sense of smell has deserted me :o

Thanks for all the good wishes! You are all v lovely :T

Will be sleeping later, really no good at recovery anymore :rotfl:

    Have a good day all!

Have a super birthday Mercy !!!

Im new on this board - (well, ish!) ive been trying lc, and have tried some of the recipes on page 1 - (all yummy!) Ive been on celebrety slim, which i loved but found it hard to get back into when id been on holiday, and now im doing the go lower thing where its all low carb and they send you all your food packs ( and no - at the price it is its not mse at all - though its mostly very nice!)

So now Im trying a combination of all three really - figured they are all LC, so a mix of them shoud be ok? CS shake for breakfast (dont groan, i like them, and i still have some left over!) gl soup for lunch (or something from the hot counter at morrisons if i need to munch) and a GL meal for the evening, with allowed veg. snackwise, ive got the GL ones, and i still love pork scratchings so Im hoping I will get away with it....

BUT I MISS BREAD !!!!!
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

Am eating my boiled eggs mashed up with some Hellmans. Had a quiet weekend with some down time yesterday, slept a lot and didn't drink enough so my last wee of the day was very cloudy so will be upping the intake today.

After today I'm away for most of the next fortnight, Tuesday - Thursday for work, Friday - Sunday for visiting my mother and then Sunday - Friday staying with friends for the week. Will have to ensure that I keep to my regime when with my friends especially - that will be my challenge. I can still log on when away so will catch up with what/how others are doing!

had a lovely Sunday - decided to visit my brother in law & family on the spur of the moment and enjoyed both the spontaneity, their company and the roast dinner with roast potatoes, carrots, sweetcorn and parsnips!
The fantastic thing about being in maintenance is that we (BF is LC too) can have the occassional carb-splurge and carry on LCing without any major/long lasting damage, and NOT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT :o) There's no point having something that you know is on the not allowed list and not enjoying every single mouthful and feeling joy in the memory of eating it rather than feeling bad about yourself.
BIL was surprised that I had potatoes as i have always said no totally but gets that since we never have them at home now we can have them occasionally when we're being cooked for.
I have put on 1.5 lb overnight and despite the inital auto "bumflaps" reaction I'm confident that it will go again on its own accord if i just get on with my usual thing. The difference now is the confidence that it is just a temporary blip, and that i was expecting it to happen, although it would have been nicer if it hadn't of course. Actually though, if it hadn't gone up i might have been tempted to treat myself to something else on the very occassional list, and that's a slippery slope for me.

But I don't want to sound smug - I've been doing this for over a year now and I've only just reached this zen-like place. Its nice though and everyone will find theirs too if they keep the faith.

Was it Lesley that said this is a way of life for her now? I totally agree. And the real shocker - its easy now, if a bit repetetive at the moment.

I don't think it has been mentioned for a while so can I recommend Neris and India's Idiot Proof Diet by India Knight. The eating plan isn't radically different to Atkins but their personal diaries included in the book made a HUGE difference to my understanding of my own weight loss. I don't think I would have done half so well with out it.
    My name is Paula and I am a low carber :kiss: 1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg :kiss: (Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!:cry::cry:

'Morning peeps, It is very miz down here on South Coast - Cloudy and rainy. I was sitting in the garden yesterday but today don't even think I'm going out. Mind, if I stay in it''ll have to be ironing and
    housework,mmmmmmm hard choice :)

Feeling better today but dog is coughing - can they get our colds? Son rang last night, he'd just got back from doing a 100 mile sponsored bike ride for Leonard Cheshire homes, and told me he had a chest infection. 29 and still can't look after himself properly( by me standards anyway. Still he promised to see dr if it's still bad by Tuesday. He can't have time off this week for illness ' cos of holidays and he's the only 'techy left in the building!

Fell off the lc wagon yesterday with half a packet of ready to eat prunes, felt ghastly about an hour after, must have been the sugar affecting my bg, but I was just desperate for something sweet. It was either those or the peanut butter- would that have been a better choice? I'm such a pig- if it's in the house I eat it! this was a pre-lc purchase so I've chucked the rest in the bin.

Well I've rabbited enough, mazzers have you looked at -

    Morning all,

this whole weekend for me was a disaster. I lost weight this week, i lost the 5lbs i gained last week and an extra 1.5lbs. So happy about this but it just set me off wanting all the things ive been depriving myself of. So ate like 2 giant bars of choc which alone would have been about 140g of carbs :( and other things. I cant seem to control myself these days. I know im going to be good during the work week but its the weekends which are my total weakness :( Want to have a good cheat day like you lesley but im scared my willpower wont work and that i will fall off the wagon completely.

Im still living with parents and to be honest all i keep thinking about is moving out. Knowing that i cant for a good few years is totally bumming me out. I always find something to complain about. :(
