Have you tried to increase the days you don't shop in a week?

By working out what I need to eat in the week (meal plans etc) and getting Tesco to deliver the heavy stuff like cat food, bleach, tins etc once a month - 6 weeks I have cut my shopping days down to 2 a week. Asda is the best corner shop I've ever had and the temptation is huge. But I reckon I'm saving between 15 - 30£ a week (at least) just by not shopping as often.

I am well aware that as a single living person it is much easier for me to organise but surely anyone's situation can be better managed by better organisation?

Must state that I have no transport so my shopping must be carried home :)

Give it a go. It can become addictive :) I now only shop Saturday for the weekend then Monday for all the rest of the week. It becomes a competition with yourself NOT to shop :rotfl:

Gives me more time at home as I would call at asda first before going home 3 times in the working week. That's a good 2 hours for my benefit that I've saved too! :j

Imagine my glee! Been doing it for a while now and have got back one account into the black and have a spare £100 in current account. So just bought the printer I've needed for ages and have change!

Yipeeeee! The more you save, the more you can spend on what you want!

Yup - but in my case it's laziness as I can't be ar&ed to get down to the shops:rotfl: I try and only go a couple of times a week as I have a Tesco Metro about 10 mins away and the temptation is too great to just nip down everyday so I get an Ocado shop once a month for the big stuff and frozen things and then top up with eggs, cream, cheese etc on Saturdays and once midweek.

Does save me money - I try and get out £50 in cash on Saturday and only use that to live with for the week - £20 for the cleaner and £10 for DS's dinner money - leaves me £20 for food so I have to keep to budget!

I have more now cos cleaner doesn't do holidays and DS has just broken up so I can pop into Monsoon this week for the sale:D

I had a major lapse tonight - I sent kids out to MaccyD's after massive 1.5 hour walk and I was too tired to cook and asked them to bring me back suasages from the chippy- but man at chippy thought they were for the boys and threw in free chips!!! I didn't eat them all- only about 10 but I probably undid all the good the walk did:rolleyes: AND It's weigh day tomorrow so think I will just drink heaps of water tonight to try and flush it out!

I think it's sweets turn to be buried under the patio, alias has done another runner and Ted has deserted us too icon9.gif

Mercy, not tried lily lolo yet, will have a little play today, but the eye shadow i'm delighted with, been trying to get a proper shimmery bronze for aeons, but no success til lily lolos' arrived. wonderful!!

Had a good day of lc yesterday but came home and just had to have an ice cream lolly, was only a mini one so carbs not too high.
I dont know where this craving has come from, i've never been a fan of magnum type lollies.

Had a much better day in work yesterday since my phone call icon7.gif

I mentioned last week that i had 15 weeks til my holiday, well, i dont know what drugs i was on but it's actually only nine, so finger out now, i've got some flab to lose

I joined the no spend day challenge on the debt free board so that i can aim for a certain amount of days where i dont spend a single penny. :) it gives me something to aim for because you dont notice everyday buying something for a £1 how it might add up in a week or month.

Thanks for the info re agave syrup re splenda, trust me to do the wrong thing.

Day 41 today and my spare cushion/belly seems a bit slimmer - hooray:j

    Day 40
    B yog, seeds & strawbs
L cottage cheese & creme fraiche 30%, mixed salad with flax oil/lemon juice dressing
    D H/m ratatouille ( can't spell) with cheese
S creme fraiche and sliced almonds

That syrup has definitely got in the system and is giving me the sweet munchies. Not hungry but want to nibble in the evening. Oh blow it.

Well weigh in tomorrow am and will see what the damage is then. Glad work is better for you Mazzers, how is it going for you Mercy?

Grey and very, very windy down here on the south coast with a nasty misty sort of rain, no gardening today it is definitely bleurgh! Will walk the dog and then I have hospital appt. midday so will have brunch at 10.30 to get me through the lunchtime. Stupid time for an appt. 12.00 midday.

Ted doesn't seem to have posted since 4/7 so I guess he's on holiday - hope it's somewhere lovely with lots of sun. My Vit D test and also tablets have all been sent from the states so am looking forward to starting supplementing my vit D levels. Since the fantastic result for my whole cholesterol of 4.3, I have stopped the fibrates and statins and am looking to decrease my Metformin too.( Have already dropped to 3 a day from 4)

Try to have a good day all despite the grotty weather.

Well done you! Bet lowering your meds gave you a boost once you saw it was ok!

That syrup is nice in some things, like mascarpone dessert. I find splenda in that - as it's not cooked - a bit too artificial. But splenda seems fine for me if it's in cooked stuff. Like many of the wondrous cakes on list :) (esp Bakewell Tart and coconut muffins, oh and mockolate danish :rotfl:)

Work has been a little stilted. (but thanks for asking :)) Had Monday off with bleaughness and although ok to work Tues it wasn't much fun as still not on form. Today been busy. Just not finding that connection with Guy1 that we had before but in all honesty, not really trying to. He may or may not still be being ari$y. He has tried over last two days to do a bit more talking and I've tried to reciprocate but heart not in it. Will see what tomorrow brings :rotfl:

appletart - Ask away! you will generally get some answers :)
Have you tried coconut oil on your skin problem areas? Do it twice a day for a week and see if it's helping. Then let us know cos it's limits seem boundless and more info is always welcome.

As for Sawyer, you're welcome to him as far as I'm concerned! Have a word with the folks in the shop - see if you can get a poster when they change the display. He'll be yours to rub up against anytime then :rotfl:

mazzers - glad you got the eyeshadow of your dreams! Hope the rest is as rewarding :)

    Big love all!
