Marrow, you are soo funny:rotfl:
Strange how carbs giving us plooks tho eh??
nasty ones, in nasty places too :rotfl:0 -
My stars for today:
Promises are easy to make and hard to keep. We encounter the most dramatic evidence of this when we try to change our lifestyle or give up some old habit. No matter how much enthusiasm we may muster, when we first embark on our journey to a new destination, we soon start to feel as if we have a length of industrial-strength elastic tied around our waist. We get so far, then we suddenly find a great pressure to snap back to the old way of doing things. Determination will help you cut that cord today. Doubt will strengthen it.
I'm going to apply it to my low carb way of life!
Fat has to drip down the ladder as I climb up it to a new future - can't climb it very easily laden down by fat.
End of homily!! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Just found tPass the BUTTER PLEASE...
This is interesting .. Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings
DO YOU KNOW the difference between margarine and butter Both have the same amount of calories.
Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years ..
And now, for Margarine..
Very high in Trans fatty acids.
Triple risk of coronary heart disease ..
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold..
Lowers quality of breast milk.
Decreases immune response.
Decreases insulin response.
And here's the most disturbing fact..... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
Margarine is but one molecule away from being PLASTIC
This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and
anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).
You can try this yourself:
Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:
no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it
it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weenie microorganisms will not find a home to grow.
Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast ?
his in my inbox, thought I'd share0 -

Yesterday was day 39 of my woe and the first time I ate out with friends. Luckily we went to a carvery so I had gammon, green beans, sweetcorn and cauliflower. They were a bit surprised when I just had a bowl of whipped cream for dessert though.lol
On Sunday I cooked the last of rhubarb from the garden and then mixed with double cream. It was a bit sour though so I added some Agave Nectar for sweetness and then couldn't stop eating it. The sweetness was definitely like a drug, had two bowls and then the other for breakfast next day!
Day 38
B Yog, seeds, strawbs
L Gammon, sweetcorn, green beans, cauli cheese, cream
D Cheese & h/m coleslaw
S Pate, ham
Weather here is very overcast but not cold so will walk the dog a bit later and maybe concentrate on a bit of housework..
Have a lovely day all.0 -
Did you spot the deliberate mistake ( my excuse is my brain is worn out )

Focus - The Proposal screening was pretty empty in Bournemouth, although the room was tiny! There was a handful of people and strangely a group of kids on what looked like a birthday treat so I can only assume someone from the cinema had snuck them in!
