Oh, tis hot here, but there's a luscious breeze, er, breezing around, so not too hot for me :D

Been for a walk but did a different route today & I think I preferred it, although I don't get to nosy what the neighbours are up to  Tis also a cycle route so I can 'go my bike' if I fancy a change.

Anyway, the reason I'm posting is to mention ice-pops (or freezepops). Bought some today for the kids but they are perfect for low-carbers as I got the no added sugar/natural flavours/no colourings variety & only a trace of carbs in each one. Great for crunching on (if you like that kind of thing :o) & cooling you down on a day like this with some nice flavours to boot. I got the High School Musical Freezepops from the Co-op (1 box of 40 for 99p or 2 boxes for £1.50) - probably better deals elsewhere though.

:rotfl:happy to report that the other 5 packs had a safe and undisturbed night:rotfl:

He took 2 packs to work so 2 left, but he's gone to the gym........in this heat  so if I kinda delay making his dinner, he'll hopefully scoff them when he comes home

B coconut oil melted with cordial, mixed nuts and seeds in a little cold milk, kinda like a muesli

L cold meat, grated cheese and strawbs (first cheese Ive had for 2 weeks) am trying to slowly get back to eating cheese, I think as long as I dont have it melted I should be ok

D nothing yet (too hot and sticky just now) and I also need to food shop

Drunk a lot of water today but still had to remember to drink extra

Im so loving this weather, even though it was so hot in work today. It wont last and the next thing we know the kids will be going back to school and the nights "drawing in"

What a lovely child! Well done!

Maybe you are managing your insulin better? So it CAN cope with the odd carbfest? I think it may be your generally low carb ways that have helped in this regard. Also, your lcing would have given you more stable blood sugar for longer even when fasting.

Maybe? Don't give into the 'it doesn't matter what I do' theory, that'l lead you to disaster :)

    Well hello good people!

OOOH so much to reply to, bear with me I feel a big one looming :rotfl:

sweets -glad you have found another good walk, it's the 'everyday' bit that makes it work. If you enjoy it you'll keep on going. Seems you've stuck to it like a limpet for ages so twill be a habit and a nice break! Glad you enjoying the weather, me too! But too hot in work :(

mazzers - re the TMI thing, fibresure in the powder form. Does work. Chillis do too, been eatin a lot of em so seem well on that front. I do use fibresure and find that one dose of teaspoon in warm water each day does the trick if you're congested (er, ahem, backed up). In serious cases two doses, 1 morn and 1 eve could be countenanced - I need to know I have nothing else to do day after though. It can take one unawares

Gers - well done on resisting the alcohol! I'd've had a cold cider :rotfl: The idea of carbs early holds much favour in some circles, and it's likely a good idea.

serena - coconut oil before meals sounds interesting. I kinda do that as I start the day with it. Reckon it'l help if you are low carbing the following meal. Don't do it if you think you may be carbing later though, as fat and high carbs will set you back. Even the 'good fats' like coconut oil. The liver goes for alcohol, then carbs, then fat. If the eve will include carbs and alcohol then the fat is yours to keep :rotfl:

    Smee again!

focus - your tale of stress with someone at work chimes with me too. I try to run a friendly ship and as long as things are running well I am happy to be just co-worker to the guys I manage. I train on the hoof and hope they are astute enough to take it on board. Mostly this works.

Recently though one of the peasants is revolting. The other main one is in work but injured and so cannot perform his usual tasks. This has left Guy1 a little busier than he's used to. It's not the overwhelming amount to do that can be bothering him, we're quieter than normal. I help out and so does someone else if we get a tricky moment.

Thing is Guy1 cannot take direction. I tried with some advice, he went off on one and wouldn't even start to understand where I was coming from. Had a chat later - same result. (this was Tues) Thing is he makes a lot of mistakes. Yesterday was a little strained. Today I decided that my 'give a f**kometer' would barely flicker. Had a great day!

He's had time to think and although I will give good advice and help it's purely professional and cheerful. He had such a bad day today as he's not getting the oxygen of attention. And I was very professional in the way I dealt with his mistakes. No blame, just further explanations of etc. Training on the hoof :)

I do hope it's sinking in that he needs my brain more than he likes to think.:rotfl:

Just don't give a f**k about what the attention seekers want. Will it matter in 100 years? Time to let go. It's surprising how liberating that is.

Oh i know that the old way of eating will make me fatter etc but it is confusing though.

How can it be higher after no carbs than 2hrs after a carby breakfast
I need to speak to Dr D :rotfl:

No good asking the doc as he'll only diss lc anyway.
Mind you, he did notice the weight loss and was very congratulatory.

I will continue with lc, but maybe it means i can have the odd piece of fruit
I could really do with a blood glucose monitor icon7.gif

Maybe your insulin resistance is getting better? And there wasn't that much difference. 0.1 Variations are natural :)

Think the odd piece of fruit will not be the end of the world :) Just have to watch 'food creep'

It's funny, I've been stable at 11'6 for ages. Stayed mostly low carb over the weekend foodwise, but didn't eat much, really (talked a lot and just felt great being with my mate). Did have a lot of cider and wine, though. Today I'm 11'4.5

Think I was holding a lot of water in fat cells I no longer have :rotfl:

    Imagine!

Over the weekend me n mate decided to lose 1/2 stone before we meet again in August. I'm up 4 it :) It's not a competition as such, but it'l be interesting :rotfl: She's got to move house, she has stress and busyness on her side! I will have to do better than I have been doing :)

I recently bought the Dr Mary Enig book 'Eat fat, lose fat' and although I haven't read it all through, that is where I picked up on the coconut oil 20 mins before meal. I think the dose was BMI of over 25 = 1 1/2 tabs, under 25 - 1 tabs. I have found it much easier to take since putting the jar in the conservatory - thanks mazzers.
