Morning all :hello:
Yeah, I'll come to that island as well (is it Necker?? Good name for an island) but I'll sit in the shade as I don't do sun  I'm sure we can find a cave somewhere as well
I'm afraid I didn't do very well yesterdayStill awaiting early TOTM & feeling heavy & fairly drained. Had the steak pie for dinner with a [STRIKE]huge[/STRIKE] portion of [STRIKE]comfort food[/STRIKE] mashed potato. Why
Then I had an ice-cream to keep mazzers company.
Been on wii fit (well actually just the body test) & I've put on a lb. Don't care!! Can't be bothered with it anyway!!
Not sure what today will bring, but I'll still go for my walk as I do enjoy that. Just can't guarantee what I eat will be good for me.
Have a good day :wave:0 -
Phew, it's too hot for me already!
mazzers: how about having the cooked breakfast in a lc way?
I've just realised that my bloods are nonfasting as it is only for the Hb1ac counts (well it's called something like that) and I'm thinking maybe I should ask for the whole shebang or should I wait another couple of months. What do you think?
I too lived with a pig in the house(teenager!!) and was very glad when it ended.lol The food rule in the house was - anyone over 12 can cook, or learn real fast, and this was extended to his friends too. Okay I did teach a lot of youngsters the basics of fry an onion, garlic, herbs and then add accordingly for shepherds pie, keema curry. bolognaise or chilli. When my ds went to live in shared houses at uni he said he'd had to teach all his housemates the same thing! To this day he makes a mean chilli and a wonderful roast. In fact I wish he lived nearer and not 110 miles away. lol
Well have had me yoghourt and freshly ground flax for brekkie and also added some flaked almonds for a change. Too hot for much else. Although I haven't lost weight there have been inches loss as I am sat here in a skirt that I haven't got into for the last two years.
Have a lovely day everyone.0 -
Oh dear, I'm going through a right hypochondriac moment now... the first thing my housemate said last night was, "Have you got swine flu?", which made me laugh. But actually the girl camping next to me was whisked off when all her family back home were confirmed as having the virus (she delighted in breathing over me while she explained this) and of course there was something of an outbreak at Glastonbury.
So now she's made me paranoid - I've woken up with a monster sore throat and it's all I can think about! Not for my sake but for my housemate's - she's a very delicate creature with existing conditions.

Cancer, insulin and Lantus
".... a dose-dependent relationship between insulin doses and cancer, and insulin. Interestingly enough, the risk is even higher with the insulin analogue Lantus than with other insulin ...."
The only way to bring down the insulin dose is to cut down on the blood sugar-raising carbohydrates.
High blood sugar is probably worse for health than high insulin.
The fact is that all the insulin in higher doses increases in cell division and therefore may increase the risk of cancer.
And to eat a lot of rapid carbohydrate is a simple way to increase the insulin vigorouslyMy weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Yeah -Alias- I'm coming to that island, you just try and stop me. I'm having a pig of a time with work at the mo and need a break. Long story short my boss is evil and a bully and i'm sick of it. Can't find another job and I need money. Sigh.
I'm sorry you (and Mazzers too) are having such a tough time. I had a carpy year last year (in fact the year before was no better) and became very depressed and ill, and ate my way to putting on about 5 stone!! I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel, but it was there and now I am slowly crawling out of it (which is hard to do with 5 extra stone!). I hope things improve for you guys soon. <<hug>>
food today:
breakkie: bran
lunch: salad
dinner: Hm icing cheesecake with loads of berries. Mmmm (OH had two slices yesterday so it can't be bad.
ARGGHHH -just had another call from HR to say they want me to have another occ health meeting (had one last week to say I am well). I'm sooooo fed up with them. Ok, i'll shut up now."I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
hya everyone
I can understand how bad it is when you're feeling low. I always suffer really badly over the winter months and over the past few years even the summer months can be a struggle. (Am researching and really will try and take some Vit D in anticipation of Winter)
The past coupla years Winter and Summer have been pretty bad, this year I seem to be a bit better (touch wood) even being slightly depressed is bad, cant imagine having to suffer really badly with it
Good day for me foodwise and painwise:D
B Low fat strawberry yoghurt

I have decided to have carbs until my blood test on Wed.
I'm hoping my fasting test will be low bg, and if my next one is high, maybe the doc will give me another test after a lc breakfast, and if the result is low bg then i will at least know i'm on the right track.
I have to admit, that although i'll always have to be icing, i'm not so tired when i'm having carbs, but it could be psychological.
Already the windy-ness has returned
Marrow, sorry to hear about your bad time at work, i think having a good whinge and some sympathy/advice on here helps too.
I am having connection probs so will be unable to post, at the mo, i am connected to an unsecure network, but i keep losing the connection.. oh woe is me..0 -
