Do try to get out in the sun as much as you can without burning though. For the reasons see here and here

On the lc front, I am now on day 19 and when I weighed last week I had lost one and a quarter pounds but I feel thinner.lol That is - my trousers are loose and my wrists now have bones in them.

Lol, that made me laugh!! Know what you mean though!! :D

have now decided to stick to Dr Dahlqvist as that is easier to follow and allows some beans

When I read the link on page one (again) I realised that I'm sort of following this as well

Aw, mazzers, big rudey threesome hugs to you!! :grouphug: What's up?? You know losing weight is not the be all & end all, remember you have lost dress sizes & don't forget all those compliments you have been getting!! You should re-visit those friends for a bit more ego-massaging :D If you are still feeling tired etc. get yourself to the Doctor!! Or Practice Nurse?? Whoever does blood tests anyway. Do it for your low-carb friends because we are concerned about you, old buddy, old pal (that's a Scooby Doo reference if you didn't recognise it :o) We want the old mazzers back (you know, the one that cheers us all up with naughty photos?!) :rotfl:

    Good morning everyone!!

ive been so tired the last two days, not going to sleep that late but i keep waking up alot during the night so not the greatest feeling when i have to drag myself out of bed in the morning  cant wait for it to be weekend already.

Last night had a change and had lamb chops (not had lamb in ages) loved it. want to make a lamb roast this weekend :D something to look forward to. But not chops, maybe a lamb leg. thing is im not a good cook :o and abit scared of cooking something like that (but i want to eat it!!) :rotfl:anyway was thinking could i preboil cook something like that and then season it again and put in oven to roast? or is this not acceptable one bit?
  • Good morning all :hello:

Feeling a bit tired again this morning, soooooo hot & muggy here yesterday, sat outside (*with wine :o) until nearly 11pm last night!!

Managed to do 30 minutes wii fit this morning but really struggled. Will be going out for my 30 minute walk soon, hopefully it won't be too warm & stuffy like it was yesterday. I actually had 2 walks yesterday, did my usual route on the afternoon (soooooooo hot) & then we all walked to the beach last night, twas a beautiful evening :D Had sore feet when I got back though

*Had a bit of good news last night, hubby has been given a promoted post at work :j So happy for him :D So that's why I had wine, twas a celebration, but I only had 1 & a half small glasses anyway.

Have a lovely day everyone

Hellooooooo, I'm back! Did you miss me? *overwhelming silence*

I've been on a carb fest this weekend -hence the lack of posting, completely going mad and swallowing anything that came into range. So feeling rather embarrassed now (and bloated) but determined to ice like I have never iced before. (as in properly!). I could blame totm but think it was probably just greed. :D

Mazzers -hope you are having a better day today. Maybe you should have a re-jig of your diet, eat something you woulodn't normally eat (still LC of course) and cut out the things you eat all the time for a couple of days. I found when I was doing slimming world I stalled by eating the same things all the time but when I changed my diet a bit the weight dropped off.

Sweet - where's my big rudey threesome hug??
Alias - what'ya up to? i watching you, ya know!

I made some fairly low carb ice cream yesterday, Ice cream is my biggest temptation. I've put the regular recipe and my substitution. It's pretty good but I still haven't got the sweetener quite right.

    2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar (I used ¼ cup erythritol, ½ tsp stevia liquid)
    1 tsp vanilla essence
    2 cups double cream
    1 cup milk
    ¼ cup chopped cherries
    ¼ cup grated dark chocolate.

whisk eggs, add sugar and whisk, add vanilla cream and milk blend to mix. Place into ice cream maker, when done add cherries and chocolate.

This is a Ben and Jerry's recipe, and uses raw eggs. I liked it a lot when it was made with real sugar, but it doesn't quite have the volume with sweetener, and I can't find 'notsugar' in the UK.

I've put it into nutrition data, i split this into 8 small baby food pots, which is more than enough to quench my cravings.

    Amount Per Serving
    Calories 164
    Total Fat 14.4g 22%
    Saturated Fat 8.7g 44%
    Cholesterol 91mg 30%
    Sodium 43mg 2%
    Total Carbohydrates 5.5g 2%
    Sugars 4.4g
    Protein 3.4g

If it was made with cocoa or vanilla or da vincis syrup it would have less carbs, the cherries and chocolate bump it up.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Wasn't that the name of a sock puppet from my youth (showing my age now). If so I'm not sure he was low carb. :D

Exact same for me, but I think it's because the weather has been so hot & stuffy, the air is very heavy, felt like I couldn't breathe yesterday afternoon when I was doing my walk!! Think we need a big thunderstorm to clear it!!

mazzers is your expert on lamb ;) hopefully she will advise.
