    Right, I'm back

Don't know why my lappy does that?? Just starts flashing Windows Update & gives me so many minutes warning then restarts itself & starts 'configuring updates'??

Anyhoo!! Having piri piri chicken tonight!! Chicken is frozen atm, just defrosting, so what I was going to do at dinner-time was cut it into chunks, fry it in olive oil to seal it & then sprinkle the piri piri over to season?? This is how I do fajita chick. Does that sound ok piri piri experts?? It says on the jar to marinade with olive oil/lemon but don't think my chick will be defrosted in time to do that??

You need the updates, sometimes they are to solve problems with windows, that micrssoft has discovered.
It has to reboot for them to be effective, but if you are doing something, you can postpone it, i usually postpone for 4 hrs and then when i turn off it sorts itself ready for the next start up icon7.gif

I have lost 4lbs this week, due to this great thread. The things that are working for me are:

Lots of salad in the fridge ready for when I want to binge

Greek yoghuts from Lidl, they are so thick that I can't possibly eat more than half a tub at a time! I know, that is probably far to much, but I have to downsize slowly. I put flaxseeds in the yoghurt.

My current craving is eggs, poached or fried in coconut oil, with cheese on top.

Thanks and keep it up everyone.

This thread is supportive and helpful.
I think it helps just to write things down and know that someone is listening, and someone cares icon7.gif as well as the ideas and recipes of course.

Good news on the 4lb, dont know if i fancy coconut flavoured eggs.

We do seem to acquire some wierd tastes on here.

I am loving using fitday, it has a graph for weight loss (cant input into my one off hanspan anymore as my excel trial has ended)

It also has an activity counter which is great.

I think the nutrients info is so helpful, i have entered all the info from my vit/mineral pill as a 'custom food' and, along with what i'm eating, its only potassium i'm lacking now.

Have ordered some high strength vit D after watching those vids Ted provided too.

My sister keen to know about lc too, her fasting BG is 5.5 so she phoned me to ask about icing, she is skinny so doesn't need to lose weight and was shocked that she is heading towards diabetes if she doesn't take action.

Btw, it seems that pecans are really lc, lower than almonds, so i have those to snack on now.

Success for the Eco-AtkinsHere is something for those who want to lose weight and gain better health values, but dislike meat.

A vegetarian version of Atkins diet ( "Eco-Atkins") have been compared with low fat vegetarian food (with more carbohydrates) in a large study. And crushed all resistance.

    Vegetarian Atkins
The study is published in the latest issue of the prestigious journal Archives of Internal Medicine.

47 obese people with poor blood fat during four weeks to eat vegetarian food. Either low fat with plenty of carbohydrates (58%), or fatter with significantly less carbohydrate (26%, "Eco-Atkins"). Both diets were well-calorie limit.

All food repaired to the participants, so compliance was very good. Unlike most other similar studies where participants laws of their own food.

    Results
Both diet groups at nearly 1500 calories a day, and therefore went down almost exactly as much (about 4 kilograms).

But otherwise lågkolhydratkosten swept the carpet with the competitor.

It gave much less hunger during the study. And cholesterol levels improved significantly more in virtually every way:

    Better apokvot (principal value)
Better Cholesterol / HDL (second value)
    Lower triglycerides (good)
    Lower LDL / HDL
    Lower apoB
    Lower LDL / HDL
    Lower total cholesterol
    Lower LDL

In addition, blood pressure was significantly lower both the systolic and the diastolic.

Success for vegetarian lågkolhydratkost thus. How is the "explained away" this time that blood fats and blood pressure improved more fatty lågkolhydratkost, when you can not blame the weight of the downturn? It is hardly the first time.

Here is additional scientific support for refined carbohydrates (sugars and easily digestible starch in ex white flour) is the easiest to make us fat and sick.

Without it, you are usually smaller, have better blood sugar, blood fats better and better blood pressure. In addition, you feel better.

    Better quality of life, simply.

    Want to test the Eco-Atkins?
Personally I see normally no health reasons to exclude meat, fish, eggs or dairy products from the food. On the contrary, it is very nutritious and good food. And good.

But for those who for personal reasons want to eat vegetarian can Eco-Atkins be a good alternative.

In addition, it can be a great way to increase acceptance of lågkolhydratkost in some circles.
