I did have a nap....three hours later I emerged still sleepy but now with crazy bed hair, dragon breath and lots of housework to do. Woke up with the kitten sitting on my face. AND.....I'm allergic to him!! I'm ok with our other cat Gem (or flat cat as she is now called after the car incident) so hoping it is his flea collar the previous owner put on him rather than his fur. If not I'll just have to live on antihistamines. Are they low carb??

OH is making a German potato salad at the mo, which is out of this world. Not sure I can resist. So blocked up I doubt if I could taste it anyway, which would be a waste of falling of the icing wagon.

Hello people that are back off holiday. I'm not jealous at all. mumble grumble.

Tis a beautiful sunny day today, i feel better already :)

Weighed this morning and was 2lb lighter, but i think it was the lack of food in my system and the slight dehydration from yesterdays wine.

Just another lb now and i'm back on track for the 1lb a week loss.

Am going to get food well prepared today and be really good

Not a lot of painting left so will get that finished too.
Just the rest of the house now icon9.gif

I have lost 4lbs this week, due to this great thread. The things that are working for me are:

Lots of salad in the fridge ready for when I want to binge

Greek yoghuts from Lidl, they are so thick that I can't possibly eat more than half a tub at a time! I know, that is probably far to much, but I have to downsize slowly. I put flaxseeds in the yoghurt.

My current craving is eggs, poached or fried in coconut oil, with cheese on top.

Thanks and keep it up everyone.
  • Morning everyone :hello:

Enjoy your sunshine, mazzers, it looks like it's going to bucket down here!!

Had a late night last night (feeling sorry for myself & drinking wine, bad combination :o) so got a slight headache this morning.

On the plus side, I discovered yesterday that I have a hand-blender attachment!! This is after at least 5 years btw!! :o Got a Braun multi-quick (?) to chop veg for HM soup (it's what my Scottish MIL uses & her soup is lush!!) & that's all I've ever used it for, but yesterday when I was digging the garage out, I found the box & there's a hand-blender thingie as well!! And a whisk!! So now I want to make cauli mash!!

Anyway, have to go now as my Windows Update is flashing so my computer is going to get turned off!! Eek!!
  • Right, I'm back

Don't know why my lappy does that?? Just starts flashing Windows Update & gives me so many minutes warning then restarts itself & starts 'configuring updates'??

Anyhoo!! Having piri piri chicken tonight!! Chicken is frozen atm, just defrosting, so what I was going to do at dinner-time was cut it into chunks, fry it in olive oil to seal it & then sprinkle the piri piri over to season?? This is how I do fajita chick. Does that sound ok piri piri experts?? It says on the jar to marinade with olive oil/lemon but don't think my chick will be defrosted in time to do that??
  • Welcome back, paula :hello: Sounds like you had a FAB time in USA & well done for not going carb-mad (which is exactly what I would have done had it been me  - I've got loads of will-power but it's all 'I will have chocolate, I will have bagels, I will have cake!!) :o

Well done linni on the weight loss!! :j Your clothes must be feeling looser as well.

*goes off to give myself a good talking to about getting back on track*
