Good afternoon everyone :hello:
Having a lazy day today, mooched about this morning, then had a bath & now a quick go on lappy.
Haven't read all posts yet, apart from sally's, loving the sound of your dinner, haven't had brisket for ages, tis really yummy, hope you enjoy.
mazzers, my budget is shot to smithereens!! Hubby did some shopping yesterday & he's just been to co-op & spent another £12 - I've just looked & my over-spend is actually nearer £40
Going to meal-plan (and stick to it this time ), using up stuff that's in the cupboards/freezer etc so I'd better come in on, or preferably under, budget next week!!
Off to get some lunch now but will try & pop back later. Hope everyone having a lovely day, the sun is shining here so might even sit in the garden :wave:0 -
I did a similar thing last night, sally. My daughter left her baked potato skin and I tore off a bit and ate it, then the cravings hit and I had two grapes, then a slice of granary toast and a handful of raisins, and then topped it off with a couple of cookies and some chocolate. I felt terrible all night, bloated and uncomfortable.
Forgive yourself, it's just a blip and get right back on track. I am back to clean eating and lots of water today, and hope that any damage done by the binge will soon be gone.
Today's menu:
B: sliced turkey rolled up with Philly cheese.
L: greek salad (feta, cucumber, red onion, cherry tomato)roast pork, buttered cabbage, cauli mash, mange tout
Dt: strawberries & double cream0 -
Wow, this sunny weather is great for making the lc bread, it has risen so much, its bulging out of my silicon 'loaf tin'.
The first batches didnt rise as the weather was colder and i had nowhere warm to put it to rise.
I am going to see if i can find gluten in the shops this week to save on postage.
It does tend to go mouldy tho like normal bread, so will freeze half this time.
It has become a staple for me, perfect to take a sandwich to work, not brilliant to toast but quite acceptable.0 -
Sounds wonderful Gaye, you are so lucky, how the other half live eh?
If you find any single sexy french men looking for lurve, you kno where i am :rotfl:
we certainly live like the other half all right! No running water, no mains electricity (just a line running across the tarmac) no bathroom facilities, no main drainage. I have to go up and down a ladder to access the boat and use the main facilities (400 metres away) every time I want to use the loo. I have to pack the washing up (no dishwasher) in a bag and take it via the ladder to the facilities to do the washing up. I have to do all the washing by hand and dry it on the guard rails. My clothes are in rags and 'please sir, can I have some more?'
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0 -
Can anyone help with my coconut oil query please?
After reading about it on here I ordered a 440ml tub for £14.95 inc postage.
I read about the 10L pails but thought £160 a bit pricey!
I haven't tried it yet as I thought it better waiting for a non working day in case it has an adverse effect.
My question is (after reading endlessly on the subject) is there a brand favoured by you or do you just buy the best you can afford?
Thanks

I buy the cheapest i can get, from the reading i have done there is very littel difference in terms of health benefits between the cheaper deodorised stuff and the expensive Virgin or organic or whatever.
The cheap one I got from the Indian shop definitely spits more if i cook with it though, so I tend to use that one in anything I'm not heating up. Mayonnaise and sweetie type things. For everything else I use the more expensive. I didn't pay that for it though, it was £75 for 10kg from Coconoil. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Thanks for that.
I looked on quite a few sites and read the testimonials hence my buying from

I can just about eat it straight from the tub although it tastes a little like sick at first!0 -

Seems we had June weather in May and are now having May weather in June, was overcast this morning, then came really sunny and now is bucketing down
I made some more Jamie Oliver brownies as the boys have been nagging, and my goddamn oven has burnt them, it also burnt the top of my loaf earlier, it has never worked properly.
If i could lift it, it'd be on the drive now, via the window.
They smelt soo delicious earlier too, and i had them out way before time and on a lower setting
I have cut the top off and managed to salvage a few.0
