Have noticed that peeps here dont seem to cook a sunday roast

Is so delish and filling and lc.
Lots of meat, cauli, cabbage, spoonful of peas/ carrots for a bit of colour and
i use a 1/4 of a pkt of schwartz roast chicken gravy with lots of the meat fat/ juices so is quite lc.

Buttons, dont think about forever, get to ideal weight and you should be able to increase carbs, plus you will then be able to treat yourself occasonally but get back to lc then.
Or maybe you can relax on weekends but be strict during the week.
    Thats my plan anyhoo.
Jeez, i just 'demanded' a cuppa and i'm amazed that i've just been brought one.
    Whats that all about
    :rotfl:

Strange you should mention the sunday roast as its my favourite meal. We've just had Roast Chicken,Cauli Cheese and peas and carrots for our tea. With Strawberries and Yoghurt for pud.I'm delightfully full and content with the world now:D

So if anyone does have any lunch ideas, preferably with some sort of greenery, please post them :o

    Ta muchly!! :D

I have ordered gluten from lowcarbmegastore to make this.
Will let you know how it goes.

    http://www.low-carb.org.uk/gabis.htm

The way i see it, tis expensive for some of these ingredients but over the years i have spent millions of pounds (ok so i exaggerate) on pills and potions and diets and i'm still fat, so might as well stick to this and get some luxuries to make it easier.
It is, after all, working for me icon7.gif

According to my meal plan, today was supposed to be my 'roast dinner' day!! However, my 'going mad with the hunger' feeling yesterday meant that I needed instant food & that's why I ended up with the ready-cooked roast chicken from Morrison's instead of the HM bol/lasagne that we ended up having tonight!!

Btw, the bol/lasagne was lovely tonight!! The cheese sauce went a bit beige coloured because of the burnt courgettes but it was still tasty. I've got some of the bol bit left over for tomorrow's dinner, or lunch, or breakfast!! :rotfl:

Mmmmm, your 'bread' recipe does sound good, mazzers, hope it works.

I'm now sat here fantasising about cheese on toast :o

Very interesting about the coconut oil, i only use that, olive oil and butter too.
Hopefully i will be able to add some wholegrains when and if i reach my target.

Yeah I think I will relax a bit at weekends, not toast and rice relax, but maybe a piece of fruit! Apple and cheese, mmmmm.

I have noticed just in these few days I've not munched on things like pasta, rice etc that my stomach has de-bloated, OH said I was looking trim today, hoorah, now if only those love handles would go.....

Oh and more importantly, I've managed to get the loo loads the past 2 days, that for me is huge because normally I have to drink movicol to get my bowels going and the doctors were considering putting a camera up my butt. Hooooraaaah!

Sweet -I've just had a scrummy salad.
cucumber & grated carrot (you could swap the carrot for celery or add lettuce./baby spinach if you think carrots too high carb).
Add some quickly fried mushrooms and bell pepper
Add dressing -I am a fan of a nice balsamic dressing but any will do. (I use Balsamic, olive oil, salt, parsley, chives, lemon juice &mustard seed, sometimes dill, sometimes garlic- may not be low carb but I like it)
I ate with chopped up veggie sausages. You could have with boiled egg or meat or some kind or fritatta/omlette. yummy.
To save time I make up a salad dressing and keep some in the fridge. Can't eat salad without dressing. I'm the worst veggie ever, i don't really like vegetables, they have to be drowned!!:D

    Mmm, hungry again now.:rotfl:

Another recipe. I'm not great with values but i think this is about right.

    corned beef quiche:

    3 eggs
approx 200g low fat cottage cheese (a pot)
    approx 200g corned beef.

line baking dish with corned beef
mix cottage cheese and eggs and pour over.
Bake for about 30 mins at 200 deg or until set.

Approx 13g carbs for whole dish. (i think!)

I swapped the corned beef for veggie sausages and added a couple of slices of tomatoes on top. Could also add onions/broccoli to the eggy mix or top with cheese.
would be nice with a salad. Keeps ok in the fridge for a couple of days too for when the munchies hit.

p.s half the ferrero roche have gone. OH is being very protective of them, I can't get near!

    Nighty night peeps.

marrow, I think my body is starting to [STRIKE]repel[/STRIKE] rebel!! It's mostly lunches I'm starting to struggle with. I always get the same salad (Tesco value babyleaf) & today I just didn't want it _pale_ Would have been lovely to have had my coronation chicken in a big crusty baguette, but that's another story!!

So if anyone does have any lunch ideas, preferably with some sort of greenery, please post them :o

    Ta muchly!! :D

Ps. I could kill for a Ferrero Rocher now!!

I don't actually eat that much greenery. Are you wanting it with your lunch because you like it, or just because you feel you should? If the latter why not leave it and just eat a bit more with dinner? I'm not a huge salad fan - even more boring than white rice of bread ;)
If you really want greenery at lunch my absolute favourite is warm bacon and goat's cheese salad. Takes some effort though so if, like me, you really can't be bothered you might not fancy it.

Basically mixed leaf or baby spinach salad (something with a bit of body or it goes eewy),
fry some bacon till crispy (or chorizzo for a change) in plenty of olive oil.
crumble bacon and goats cheese on salad (you can fry cheese for a bit too if its those little rounds)
mix vinegar and pepper into left over oil in pan and drizzle over generously. (you can add a blob of mustard to the dressing if you like it spicy)
    Yum!

Or - if you can face doing things in advance - how about crustless spinach quiche. Just the usual quiche mixture but not too wet and add in spinach and maybe some fried leeks. I haven't actually tried this but my mum used to do spinach and onion quiche and it was my favourite.

On an MSE front - M&S were doing two bags of spinach for £2 last week - not sure if they still are. It said £3 on the shelf and at the till but when I pointed out the 2 for £2 on the bags I got it for that - bargain! In terms of salad baby spinach and lambs lettuce are really the only stuff I like.

Hi all - hoping for some comments (not medical advice of course) as I'm wondering if I've got a bit carried away and am now taking rather more oily products than necessary.

I was just taking one 1000mg Bio-Fish Oil (which contains EPA 18% and DHA 12%). Plus vit D - the Biotics liquid - two drops one day, three the next (one drop contains 2000IU vit D)

Having gone for the annual boob checkup and complained of pain I was told to take rather large doses GLA so have now added one 1000mg Starflower Oil (contains 220g GLA) and one 1000mg Evening Primrose Oil (contains 90mg GLA)

Then - having achy, crackly joints - I decided to take Cod Liver oil so am taking one 550mg capsule (contains 46mg EPA, 41mg DHA, 5ug Vit D - I know its not ug but how do you type that weird thing?)

So what does anyone think? Have I got a bit carried away? Will I turn into a fish or an oil slick?
Just in case it has a bearing on any comments - I take some other things too:
    Vit C 1000mg per day (I'm a smoker)
Quercetin about 500mg per day (don't ask unless you want to be bored)
Glucosamin Sulphate (for the joints) 2000mg per day
    Plus all the prescribed nonsense

    And yes I do rattle!
