Aww, alias my heart goes out to you  some peoples lives can be so difficult and stressful which is why it was unnecessary for anyone to go jack-booting about (as someone so succintly put it):rotfl: on this thread and i'm glad she's gone :p:p:p (if she's reading)
We havent all got perfect lives but i spose it makes us who we are.

It is sometimes difficult to think about not having a treat when things get stressful, and am so glad you had a nice time in the end :T

I sometimes think it sounds like mazzers diary too

But thats what i love about it, coming in saying how it is and letting eveyone else do the same, then supporting each other, through good and bad. And passing on great recipes.

I love catching up with the posts.

thanks for the love everyone :)

I initially did my weight in kg as I could still track it but it didn't feel as "real" as proper weights in stones and pounds. Plus my scales are electronic so only do kg or pounds! I have swapped to pounds now as it takes sooooo long to lose 1kg now.

However (whoop de whoop) I weighed 9 and a half stone this morning (it has taken weeks to drop half a pound so i could round it down rather than up!) so i'm feeling well chuffed. Scared of jinxing it though as i usually make sure the extra weight stays off for a few days before i count it as really having gone down - i have lost and regained the same pounds over and over again over the last 5 months.

Happy Mothers' day to all of you hard working, undervalued and over worked Mums. I love you all.

Right, I've got fed up of waiting for this blasted pole so I've found a girl in Bristol who's selling a 2nd hand one - will be picking it up later this afternoon

A day in the garden today, fencing in the chickens and sorting out the vegetable patch (once it's safe from chickens).

Yesterday's diet suffered from an inexplicable bout of depression:
    - Scrambled eggs and Linda McCartney sausages
    - Entire bar of dark chocolate
    - Linda McCartney roast with red wine gravy and spinach

  • Aw thanks alias, I'm a mother so am very good at worrying - it's what I do best!! :o
Soooooo glad you managed to get out with OH & it sounds like you had a lovely time. Well done on not eating the chips - not sure I would have been able to resist if they were sat on the plate infront of me!!
Definitely keep nibbling away at keeping things good between the two of you, every opportunity you can, it will bring you closer together. :happyhear
  • Hello everyone :hello:
Having a lovely lazy day today - had breakfast in bed - twas lovely!!
Got a Mother's Day mini cake off youngest daughter - it says 'Mam' - made me laugh cos they call me Mum but she said that was the only one they had!! :rotfl: Made me laugh even more when she sat down next to me & managed to squish one corner of it!! Anyway, I'll be eating a quarter of it later - to heck with LC today - my daughter's feelings are more important!! :D
    My menu for today
B/L - 3 rashers bacon, 2 chipolata sausages, 2 fried eggs & quite a few fried mushrooms!! Needless to say I'm stuffed!!
    D - Roast chicken & cheesy leeks
    Pud - jelly fool
Snack - quarter of squished Mother's Day cake
Actually had salmon en croute for my dins last night instead of the mexican fudge - wasn't too disastrous carb wise but was so hungry I didn't really care anyway!! :o
Hope everyone having a lovely Sunday.
  • Well done mazzers on yet another lb off!! :j
Badger, you have been sooooo busy the last couple of weeks that you are bound to feel a bit deflated when you're not at work. Your menu didn't sound tooooo bad & I'm sure you can work it off when you finally get your pole!! Let us know how you get on. :D
Welcome back pilly, wondered where you had got to. :D
paula, if baby fennel is anything like aniseed balls then I think I might like it. :D

    Hi all!

Hope all you mums get a good day!

I like this thread being for support and ideas, we all have lives which complicate things and it's good to know there's somewhere pretty unjudgemental to go. I too enjoy catching up on the posts, it's always great to hear about losses too!

Off to Mum's in a bit, big family do so bound to be fun! Taking some mexican fudge and coconut buns. The coconut buns are very light. Mainly because there's a great hole inside each one :) Don't know how that happened, but heyho, they taste just fine.

Sazbo, couldn't get the link for HC's moussaka to work for some reason, pls pm me the link when you get a chance, Glad you retitled this place, may keep out the riffraff :)

    Have a lovely day all!

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)
