Evening!
I was going well all week, had a night out last night though. Some drinks and a handful of chips. Could have been much worse!
Been good today, just had yummy roasted sausages and cauliflower with garlic mayo and a little hot sauce. Cauliflower could have been cooked a bit more.
Just been looking for nice recipes for the week ahead. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Hi Mercy :hello:
Glad that you are feeling a bit better and thanks for agreeing to update the recipe list
Out with my daughter last night for her birthday. Tried to be good so had
soup - no bread
chicken with parmesan crust and green beans
ice cream - naughty I know but it could have been a lot worse
water to drink
I hope that everyone is having a good weekend x0 -
Morning all
B - bacon & mushrooms
L - salad 'sandwich'
D - minute steak, cauliflower/cabbage mash/puree, cheesy leeks
I've been out for a breezy walk this morning  Got back & had half a wee bottle of irn bru  mmmm, thoroughly enjoyed it!!Otherwise will be drinking decaf coffee, water (plain & sparkling) & unsweetened almond milk today.
Hope everyone is doing ok & enjoying the weekend0 -
Morning
A colossal 0.6 of a lb off this week (I don't know whether to be :mad:or
) :rotfl: It means I haven't quite reached that elusive stone off. So near & yet so far. I'm blaming TOTM
Planned menu for today:
B - garlic sausage, 2 buttered crispbreads with cheese
L - salad 'sandwich'
D - chicken with cheese & bacon (Asd@), cauliflower/cabbage mash, cheesy leeks
Drinks will be the usual decaf coffee, water (sparkling & plain) & unsweetened almond milk.
I'm a bit worried about sticking to LC this week as I'm away for one night mid-week & I know there's mince & tatties on the menu. Will just have to go with the flow.
Anyone know if square sliced/lorne sausages are ok (as a rough guide)?? I'll be getting them from a butchers so no packaging & therefore no carb count.
Hope everyone has a good week.
Any weight losses to report??0 -
Hi everyone,
Had a tough weekend but stuck to it. I was out both nights but didn't go over my 2 drink self given rule (low carb drinks too). I wanted to eat more though and am finding myself hungrier than normal. Even on the days I haven't had a drink I am finding the amount of protein and fat is not making me as full as it was. It's like my body has got used to it and the effect is gone. Anyone else had this? Will have to watch my cheese and nut intake as they are the things I normally go for when hungry (or a little spoon of peanut butter!)
Well done sweets - it's better than the scales going backwards! I am weighing Thurs and interested to see if alcohol has an effect and I still lose. I'm expecting a plateau soon anyway! Regarding the Lorne sausage you should ask your butcher to see the percentage of meat in it? That'll give you and idea!
Nice to see you back Mercy. Thanks again for your 'Korma' recipe - I would be fatter without that I reckon. I'm enjoying being lighter - I whizzed up the road to work earlier :-)
Must remember to get me some hot sauce!!!Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
Morning
Is it really only Tuesday??
I'm still a bit miffed about only losing 0.6 of a lb last week
Eleanor, could your hunger be 'hormonal' hunger now that you've come off the pill?? Just a thought. I always get hungrier when TOTM is due.
B - cold meat & cheese
L - salad 'sandwich' & soup if I get chance to make (or buy) some this morning
D - HM chicken curry with cauliflower & broccoli
I made cauliflower cheese instead of cauli/cabbage mash for dinner last night & it was lush. I didn't have any 'greenery' though so must remember to buy some broccoli today. I'm really fancying green beans as well since SHEILA mentioned them
Mercy, I looked for the pork shoulder for £1.99 in Ald1 yesterday but couldn't find it - was it a special??
Any sign of betterlife?? Arty?? Franby?? James?? I forget the names of the other newbies, sorry
SHEILA, g&b, how's it going??
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Sweets - it may have been a special, that cheap meat.
Had to say goodbye to my Sherlock cat today, he was old and ill, one of my v best friends. Think this could be a fast day as I can't even think about food
But if I could eat I'd be having
B - cheese and ham
L - pork, baby corn, mushrooms
Eve - eggs and smoked salmon, with salad
Big love

Hi there, knowledgeable people. I've been low-ish carb for over a year, am over a stone lighter than I was, although was lighter still and have got lazy lately.
A friend of mine posted this chocolate and avocado pudding and it occurred to me that it may work quite well as a l/c treat, if I reduce the amount of maple syrup. What do you think? She said it was absolutely delicious and doesn't taste of avocado (which is a plus for me) and you know how sometimes you just need something chocolatey?
Your thoughts are welcome! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Sorry to read about your kitty Mercy, I'm a crazy cat lady and will be devastated when mine go.
Had a good two days, less said about Sunday night the better!
Made a big pot of stroganoff in slow cooker, that's lunch sorted for the next few days. Just had it for dinner with Brocolli. Meat was a wee bit tough, asda meat isn't the best though I've found.

Mercy
Sorry to hear about Sherlock, I know what he meant to you
I still haven't lost this week but I am being really careful and sticking to 35 - 40 carbs. I can't go lower as it mucks up my thyroid.
breakfast : 6 almonds, tbsp yogurt and 25g 85% chocolate as didn't feel like cooking
lunch: almond pancake, 50g berries and cream
dinner: chicken with leeks, broccoli and cauliflower mash
snack: slice gouda cheese, handful seeds, 1 brazil nut
40 carbs
Well done and keep persevering everyone x0
