I've lost another 2lbs so now I have lost 1 stone and 4lbs. Very happy as have decided come off my pill so had no idea if I would lose. I am now a stone away from my goal (which is getting out of the overweight BMI and into the 'healthy weight'). Looking forward to relaxing a little and having maybe some tomatoey based dinners like chilli con carne and a tomatoey curry and maybe some berries.
Chuffed also because last night I did my PT session, got home, cleared and cleaned out the fridge, defrosted the freezer, made dinner (cauli mash, 3 chipolatas and mushrooms) and made Mexican fudge. Was so knackered and really fancied chocolate when I finally sat down at 9.30pm but didn't even though I know where my partner's stash is!!
Hope everyone else is having a good day!Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
SHEILA54 thank you, i will try that milk, im eating my allowable amount of cheese, and walnuts, and also snacking on creme fraiche (full fat) as little carbs, i also cooked my bubble & SQUEAK (lol didnt realise typo haha) in butter, so im having quite a bit of fat.
Day 4 today, feeling less hungry which is good! did fancy choc last night but was good even though i have little bars of organic dark choc (70/80%) in cupboard which are only 6.8g carb per bar! but worried if i start might eat whole pack of 12 lol.
breakfast today has been walnuts and baby bel, will probably have left over B&S from last night, and chicken for dinner, not sure about tea at mo,
great weight loss eleanor73 well done

Great loss eleanor73 :T
sweet - hope that the walk helped to lift your spirits. This is really the worst time of year for depression, motivation etc, ask any GP, and the weather doesn't help either.
Roll on the Spring
betterlife - seems to be going well. Later you can melt a bit of 70 - 85% chocolate with coconut oil and maybe add a few nuts. Leave in fridge to set. Very nice!!
andrewsmum - how's it going?
Still no loss this week so a bit fed up but will look again next week. Maybe I will have to think again and combine the 5:2 with low carb for a while. I know others have done this, with good results.0 -
sound yummy SHEILA54, made the coconut muffins and choc biscuits this evening from the recipe section on page one, both ended up in the bin! yuck! lol, not really done well today, as carb count has probably been too low, although ive been drinking proper milk in my tea, but food wise has just been cheese and walnuts, cant seem to stomach much else, may have to rethink diet after weigh in on monday, as seem to be struggling with idea`s. Really enjoyed my bubble and squeak last night, but cant stomach it today, fed up with veg, dont fancy salad, think im probably being too strict with myself, but i like to see results quick else i get dis-heartened, and although ive not cheated at all, i feel as a person a have very little will power, so worry if i have something else i may eat too much or just give in! its silly really as im not huge (size 14) but as im only 5ft 2, so i feel dumpy and no as the weather gets warmer i will be fed up if i have`nt lost the weight!
think maybe from monday i may include a little bread/potato/pasta.
But i have learnt a HUGE amount whilst doing the lo carb even though i`ve only been doing it for 4 days. ive realised i normally eat far too much carbs, and that it really does`nt fill you up, ive felt less hungry on this diet than any other diet that ive done before, so will definitely change my eating habits. One day I will live in a cabin in the woods0 -
Better life, what about a big meaty omelette? I eat them a lot with spinach, cheese, and meat through them - either ham, chicken or my partners home made turkey meatballs. It is really meaty and filling and doesn't feel like deprivation! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Morning everyone
Still feeling a bit bleurgh this morning, but I'm going to be a martyr & just get on with things!! :rotfl:
Well done on the 2lbs off, Eleanor :T
SHEILA, hope you're not too disheartened by not losing again this week. Stay positiveI decided against trying the 5:2 as I read negative reviews about women my age (40 something) doing it & it put me off.
betterlife, I didn't like the coconut muffins either. I'm sure there's a recipe on Mercy's list for chocolate buns/muffins?? I've made them a few times in the past & they were really nice. I used to eat them with double cream & also made them into 'tiramisu' type desserts.
It sounds like you need a bit of food variety if you're getting fed up with things. I know what you mean though, I can't stand the thought of a fried egg atmSometimes you eat too much of something & even the thought of it makes you start feeling queasy.
Maybe try ali's idea of a meaty omelette?? Or I can recommend the salad 'sandwich' I've been having, it's nice & filling as well as quick & easy to make.
Do what is best for you though
B - cheese slices, garlic sausage, sliced boiled egg, thin slice onion, lettuce & mayo 'sandwich'
L - 2 buttered crispbreads with topping, green soup
D - HM chicken curry with cauliflower rice & broccoli
My plans for today have changed, so hopefully I've got time to go for a brisk & breezy walk along the beach.
So glad it's Friday!!0 -
Where is everyone today??
Went for a walk this morning & climbed up a local bank - nearly killed me off again
B - 2 buttered crispbreads with cheese
L - salad 'sandwich'
D - chicken something with green veg
Will be having some red wine tonight & 45g salt & vinegar peanuts. I like weekends
Hope everyone is doing ok.0 -
Hi all!
Been a bit ill so haven't been posting although I've been relatively good foodwise.
Yesterday I felt much better and had
Brunch - 3 soft scrambled eggs and smoked salmon trimmings
Simply wasn't hungry all day but cooked a bagfull of nice things
600g pork shoulder with large flat mushrooms, baby corn and leeks in 2-3 inch lengths (meat in bottom, veg on top). 30 min @ 180'C then 1hr @ 120'C.
When done I portioned off into 2 containers. About 2-3g carb each meal.
I actually felt hungry again around 9pm so had one of the meals, heated slow in microwave. It was amazing! The meat just fell apart.
Best bit was meat was from Aldi (600g for £1.99 :j ) As were veg so about £2 per meal. :money:
Am going to make some 'flax cracker type things' from the recipe list as I remember them being lovely with melted brie. I have some olives in lemony oil to have with that, and maybe some more smoked salmon
Lazy today, picked up a prawn cocktail on whoops (~ 7g carb) not regular fayre but I'd not eaten by 2pm and it just stopped me going for bad stuff while I make something nice and crackery :rotfl:
I'll probably have the other pork meal later.
Happy low carbing!

Hello
Just so you all know, I am v happy to update the recipe list with more tasty recipes as you discover them :j
May I ask that if you have a new recipe, please post it in a post simply of it's own? The reason being that I can only link posts to the list so if your life has had an occasion or you're just chatting in the same post as your recipe - that would appear too along with the recipe for all to see forever :rotfl:
Then, when you have your recipe posted, pm me with the post number. I wouldn't like to miss anything we could all benefit from.
There are a lot of good recipe ideas culled from low carbers over a few years on the list. You may not like them all and all are up for alteration. If you find a better way with something, do tell. :j All posting details as above.
Big love
