Since I had a scare (March ish? ) where they thought I'd had a stroke but as I hadn't and they said it must have been a virus, I had to think about things.
I had so many blood tests over a few weeks that when they all came back as OK, and my brain scan said it was normal ( always thort I was special - heyho) I had a need to keep it all that way. :rotfl:
What happened Mercy? What symptoms did you have to wonder about a stroke?

Hi all! Will read and catch up properly in a bit when I've finished housework but just wanted to say hi and share my good news... I got a job today! Big deal for me, I've not worked (intentionally) for 3 years as I wanted to settle my eldest into our new life, then the baby came along, before that I had my own business for 10 years so I haven't had a 'proper' job for 13 years! So doing the whole interview thing after all this time was interesting, it's the first one I've had and I got offered it on the spot! It's great hours and I won't have to pay for any child care, so I'm a very happy Cherry!!
Still off the wagon, kinda, did have lowish carb dinner. The Marks and Spencer dine in this week is very low carb friendly, they have whole chickens, steaks etc. The side dishes include a salad bowl and some nice veggies and the desserts include a punnet of strawberries or a cheese selection, then theres the wine, of course! So if any of you wanted to treat yourselves, money well spent! I made some celeriac chips for with the steak and they were fab, made them spicy with a chilli spice rub and I did a pepper sauce on the side. The children had swedish meatballs as neither of them wanted steak so I've marinated the second steak in some garlic & chilli for a stir fry tomorrow. Husband had a homemade veg fajita. Nom, nom!0 -
Ooooooh well done you! Congrats on the job. :THerman - MP for all!0

No probs hun
Felt drunk all the time - about 4 pints of strongbow in so not falling over but free with the speech and giddyness - bit arsey with Doc so over confident. Moody swinging in the face of authority - peed off and annoyed and it showed, normally I'd just be straightlaced :rotfl:
Seen pics of my brain and it really is quite beautiful. Imagine everyone's is but I've only seen mine sliced up fine like

Thanks to everyone for posting their "stuff". Think Dr D is the way forward for me, I looked at the Atkins induction foods and don't like dead animals enough to eat sufficient quantity.

sweetserendipity, thanks to your craving for pea and ham soup, its somehow been transferred to me. I've checked and I have chopped ham in the freezer. I also have lots of tins of peas from Lidl in cupboards. I also have freezer peas. So..... I am going to make some pea & ham soup on monday. ..... as I love it! and I wont rest till I have some! Lol.
ok... I'm having vodkas and slimline tonic and secretly wishing I could have a ciggy. Really bad. But I wont. I know I wont.
Going to have a couple more drinks, then going to eat my naughty pizza and then go to bed. Will do more exercise tomorrow to make up for my naughtyness tonight a bit.
I'm noticing a few muscles forming on my biceps. But I haven't weighed myself for over two weeks coz I know - or rather I can feel i've not lost, and thus.. if I see that on the scales, it might destroy me. Its hard to explain... but I will only go on the scales when I feel I may have lost.. or if everything in my life is 100% good. this its because scales can become a bit of an obsession with me. I want to keep scales as a very small portion of my life. Not something that I live my life by.. (trust me, i've been there... and it was awful.!
I hope everybody has a fantastic week-end! Yea... its bank holiday monday.. so no work monday for a lot of folks including my husband! YEa!0 -

I totally agree with you on this. And approve
I've been able to weigh lots recently as I knew I'd been mostly good and the result wouldn't be a serious problem to me, as I'm only being mildly interested.
You do right to work WITH yourself rather than DESPITE. Your head is on the right way and you will not provoke the 'biaaatch' who'll destroy all you've worked for. I too, do not provoke the 'biaaatch' either :rotfl:
I'm getting better arms with the wall press ups recently - good innit?! :j YAY!
Big love

So much positivity is making me quite heady
Mercy thanks for all your hard work on this thread and for your encouragement. You have done really well to quit smoking and stick to low carb, it can't have been easy x :A
sweet & alias - Mercy is right with the wheat and it really is worth the effort of trying to stay low carb if it makes you feel better. I know that my gut is better and I have more energy eating this way. I started with a low carb / candida diet as it appears that a lot of us are in the grip of candida in the gut and it can play havoc with our bodies generally.
Jerry - no point in weighing more than once a week but try measuring as I have lost inches without weight sometimes.
No point in trying rhymes as I am useless!!!!
Lots of lovely recipes to try but not pea and ham soup as I hate peas, having had them at most meals as a youngster. Do try the cheese scones, if you are allowed nuts, as they are really good.
Have a good weekend and try to dodge the rain tomorrow0
