Avstar your curry looks delicious. How do you get the 'sauce' bit thick so it kinda sticks to the veg rather than looks like a soup please ?
I am going to have a go at that leek lasagna too.0 -

Right that's it, oven on, yummy scones here we come.......0 -
I thought I had some ground almonds in, but I haven't
So the scones will have to wait a while. I'll have to send OH out to the shops when he's finished mending the fence
Jerry - well done on the no-smoking. It's been 10 years for me now (smoked 20 to 30 a day too ) Well done mercy too
Someone told me vitamin C helped with the withdrawal symptoms.
Dunno if it's true, but I ate chewable vit C lozenges, and diluted cranberry juice till it was coming out of my ears. If nothing else, it give your mouth something else to do. I also kept cleaning my teeth, because I never like the taste of a cig after teeth cleaning. It's a wonder I have any enamel left on mine now :rotfl:
I'm fancying a vegetable curry for dinner now. I'm very impressionable
It's looks delish avstar0 -

How true this is. My mix only made 4 for some reason, now there are only 3 leftdidn't eat them all at once
but I have only had ham and soft-boiled eggs for brekkie. (Don't know why I feel the need to justify this
) At least there is still one left :j
I added some chives, a dollop of mustard and a pinch of salt, but they could have been a bit cheesier, must have used less than 1oz, highly recommended though. Don't know whether to thank andrewsmum or not
Anyway, decided to go for it while the almonds were out and the oven was on and do some chocolate cakes - go me - big feast round my house :j ooh just noticed it's time for afternoon tea.....0 -
Having a really carp day today as argued with DD and feeling both cross and miserable. I also put on 1lb this week. Glad that I haven't got any chocolate left or think that I would eat it all.
murphydog - I made the scones as well. Made 5 but a bit small so would probably make into 3-4. Didn't rise much but taste great. I used 3oz strong cheddar and it was just right.
Around 2.6 carbs each if made into 4 scones. Already eaten all of the scones with butter so guess that's my dinner for today.
What cakes did you make murphydog?
avstar - curry looks nice. I use cauliflower in curry as when it disintegrates it thickens the sauce
Gray Malkin - I bought this and keep it in a plastic container so that I don't run out

I bought some ground almond from Mr T and it was priced as follows......
T ground almond 100g......£0.99 (£9.90/kg)
T ground almond 200g......£2.03 (£10.15/kg)
so cheaper to buy 2 x 100g bags
Works out a little cheaper than the one you bought Sheila, handy if you dont need a large amount.0 -

Thanks for the tips. I have some vitamin C tablets in the kitchen drawer. So will have a munch. Have drunk lots of ice cold water.. The colder it is, the more I seem to drink.
I have also been munching on ham and cottage cheese, even when I'm not hungry. I'm still getting cravings for cigs. Its so horrible. But i'm starting to feel a glimmer of hope, coz I've managed to get to Wednesday night! Don't know how my husband is doing, as we have not spoken still. Its better this way, as I could easily kill him if he asks me the wrong question.0 -
Question for you all. I have posted before that I read this forum avidly an pick up loads of idea and tips. I follow low carb eating mainly to keep my blood sugar under control although weight loss to me is a bonus too. I had to finish work about 3 years ago due to illness and now am on oxygen 24/7 so dont get out of thee house much and don't really get much excersise (apart from around the house/up and down stairs ets) Also I might add, I have never smoked in my life. I don't (daren't) post my menus incase someone jumps on me for doing something wrong, like having too much veg etc.........but I really enjoy reading this forum so don't want to feel like I don't belong if that makes sence. Now, bacck to my question, my last few posts have mainly been recipe type posts, because I just wanted to share new things I had found with you all. Is it ok for me to join in like this or may I get told off for doing this as this is NOT a recipe forum ????????
For eg I made a yummy lamb curry today and didn't know whether to share here ?
I hope this post makes sense. I'd rather just 'read quietly in the background' than upset anyone.0 -
andrewsmum - recipes are great, we love them and it gives new ideas.
There is a whole list of recipes on the first page that Mercy updates from time to time.
Please, just feel free to say how you are feeling, what you are doing, what you eat etc. as it makes the thread interesting and helps us to understand and help each other.
Sorry about the O2, it does make life difficult to get around. I know, having had a dad who had alveolitis and even had a cylinder in the toilet. You do well and please don't put yourself down.
Jerry - you are doing well, keep it up!!0
